Windows is losing large amounts of storage space without telling me

In recent weeks I've been watching my local disk drive (c) (only the petition on that computer) to see if I was using storage space. I noticed that I am losing a large amount of storage space. AVG disk space analysis, I have 176 GB of files in my local disk (c). My windows Explorer, however, I have 335 GB of files on my local drive (c). Which means there are 159 GB of files in my PC that I never new existed, and I can't find where. My concern is that it is a form of Malware, like in the last 24 hours, I've lost 15 gb + space, even if I haven't downloaded something.

I apologize if it was a little hard to follow, as I found it hard to explain. If anyone knows what it is, if it is in fact something, please share your information with me. Thank you.

There could be lots of things like backups, restore points, etc. There is a 3rd party app called from Jam software Treesize (free) which will tell you what is using that space.

There is no problem of instalation and connection via USB and wireless.

But I noticed a problem with the Wi - Fi - process Spooler SubSystem App (spoolsv.exe) consumes a large amount of RAM memory, it has even 1, 5 GB! I note that the C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS catalog is empty - it happens when the printer is in sleep mode, not printing or scanning.

Problem does not occur for the USB connection.

Any advice? I think that this is a problem in the printer driver.

Converting large amounts of points - 76 million lat/lon to space object...

Platform - Oracle 11g 64 bit on 64-bit Windows server 2008 Enterprise. 64 GB of ram with 2 processors for a total of 24 cores

Does anyone know a quick way to convert large amounts of points of a space object? I need to convert lat/lon st_geometry ESRI or Oracle sdo_geometry 76 millions.

Currently I have the configuration code using parallel functions in pipeline and several jobs that run at the same time. It takes still more than 2.5 hours to deal with all the points.

Pointers would be GREATLY appreciated!

Where is the lat/long data at this time? In an external text file or in an existing database table as attributes numbers?

If they are in an external text file, then I'd probably use an external table to load them in as soon as possible.

Are they in an existing database table, then you can just update the column sdo_geometry to help:

update set = sdo_geometry(2001, , sdo_point_type(, , null), null, null)
where is not null
and is not null;

That must run very fast for you. If you want to avoid the overhead of creating again, you can use "create table... as select... ». This example of creating 1 000 000 points works in 9 seconds for me.

Hey there, I got a small cut of data center where we have virtualized 10. Which most is Server 2008 standard with 4 x x64Bit version.
I thought about creating a 75GB C partition would be more than enough space. After about 9 months of use of torque with a 64 bit OS and Exchange 2010, I was up to 5 GB space on my C drive. Fortunately, I had a load of spare to park my Exchange .edb files to remedy the problem of the lack of storage SAN.
What MS is going to deal with this problem. I'm lucky, I can just use extra storage space and make a difference. What of those who pay for hosted solutions / storage. This eventually cost them much more they may have planned to even if they copy actually that much data on the server.
Surely MS will come out as its eems to be a cleaning tool or a patch to stop this issue more and more out of control. Nobody seems to have a decent solution for this. Woe to anyone brave enough to just go and delete files to free up space.
Any ideas or advice greatly appreciated.

I have currently a strange problem with VMWare Workstation 9 running on Windows 8, when my VMs are hosted on a configuration of storage like a mirror. My Windows VMs work very well, but all my virtual machines to Linux seem to get corrupted after a cycle start and stop a success. When I try to restart, they bomb on me on what seems to be the alteration of the disc. I have attached a filed faulty start of RHEL 6 x 64 for reference.
Any ideas what may be the cause? In my view, it can be linked to as storage spaces when to take a clean copy of the virtual machine (before it was corrupted) on move on a disk that uses no storage spaces everything works fine.
What puzzles me is why not Linux virtual machines VMs Windows affect go bad after the start cycle...
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,

When you have migrated your images in iPhoto for pictures, the images were not duplicated in the photo library. Both made apps point (link) to the same original on your drive. That's why you see no significant gain in storage.

Windows Update download installers of updates on the drive with the most free space. Try disconnecting all external disks before you download an update.
Alternatively, you can delete the installer manually after the updates were installed.

So I have a very large collection of photographs, a couple hundred concerts a value and I thought that Adobe Revel would be the way to go to clean up quickly and easily with access on all my devices.
The problems is that the Adobe Revel app for my iPhone 4 (as well as all applications IOS Revel) insists on storing thumbnails of ALL my photos from my collection of 16,000 + photo. This means that more than 500 megabytes of space on my phone value is constantly dedicated to store photos that I rarely need. This may not seem a big deal to some, on a device with 14 GB of free space value, 500 MB is the equivalent of half of a film or a few pounds of medium length.
I appreciate the convenience of being able to scroll through everything quickly because it is already loaded. I understand that. But it's the 21st century and I think that we should have a few choices as to the amount of space this app takes over. I mean, my collection of photos is not exactly going to become all small is it?
I think we should be able to establish within Revel HOW MUCH storage the application will use to these thumbnails instead of having the decision EVERY being by default. In view of my own choice, I would set it at everything marked as a favorite and everything from the last 2 weeks. I think it's a thing just to ask for a big developer that Adobe can easily use it in their product.
Because right now the app is completely broken. Any attempt to open the application causes the message pop up "not enough local storage space: import was stopped because there is not enough storage available to Revel on this device." Please free up some space and try again. "Rejecting this message only allows him to appear again IMMEDIATELY. If you are using a MAC, then you can check the State of the (s) library view and make sure that nothing is in the download queue. You can do so by looking at each library, click on the point to the left of the name. It will give you a status for this library.
