• Windows Live essential 11 (KB2434419) stopped after 50%

  Had a Windows Update to check and after that 50% has been downloaded it stopped. Went away from the PC for 1 hour and always stopped. Windows Live Essential 2011 KB2434419. Another essential live windows downloaded ok but not this number KB2434419.

  Windows Update keeps wanting to install "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB2618444)", even if it appears in the list of updates to inistalled in the control panel.  The installation fails.  When I use "Fix it", it indicates that default Windows update data locations have changed, but I can't 'Fix It' to do the repair.  In what could be a related issue, Windows Data Execution Prevention (part of IE 8?) detects a malfunctioning or malicious add-on, whenever I try to access a video on ESPN3 and closes the Web page.  However, 'Fix It' can not detect any problems with the modules.  I don't know what else to try to fix any of these problems.

If your computer is hijacked, then you should address that more that you need to fix this minor update. However, under the resolution of your problem to update, you can try this:

  Assume Windows XP

  Check the C:\Windows\System32\ directory for the presence of the file tzchange.exe

  If the file is not present or if the version of the file is not 5.1.2600.6171 or newer...

  Download the update appropriate 2633952 for your platform here:

  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2633952

  Run with - extract switch (e.g., Start > run > "[path to the downloaded file] \WindowsXP-KB2633952-x86-ENU.exe"-x)

  Of course, replace [path to the downloaded file] with the path to the downloaded file.

  Citations may or may not be required depending on the path. Place the x - out the citations if you use them.

  Choose a location for the extracted files (a new folder is recommended)

  Without answers to the question of the PA bear some basic troubleshooting steps, you can try to run SFC/scannow to check that there is no corruption in the system. I would sayCheckSUR check that no package system who have to be damaged running. If you are still not able to solve this problem, then try to run this utility:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

  If you could answer bear PA questions that would help us refine what may be the real problem.

  I had Windows Live essential on my Windows XP. For some time... When you use the Live Photo Gallery and upload new photos. my machine locks up and then crashed...

  The next time I loaded Photo Gallery, he had problems reading the odd file and on screen a message come with problems with the Codec files!
