  I tried to empty and then import the contact information in my Contacts gadget in Windows Mail.

  (It was not populated compared to my new imported e-mail contacts list).

  Well, the Gadget's Contact has been deleted.

  I tried to find on the web page of Microsoft, so that I can download and reinsatll,

  but the web page says something to the effect that only the Gadgets Windows 7 is now supported.

  Is anyway or any place where I can download this gadget.

  I tried some Google searches, but have so far not found anyyhing.

  I'm really happy that we issue is resolved.

  The methods on the functioning of the gadgets is not well documented, and I'm not an expert on the contacts, so I don't know what will happen if you try to update in the future.   You need to maybe just remove the gadget if it is not updated, and then add it back again.

  Please use the Forum for answers!

  Click on the name of title just above the list to change sorting options, it will toggle between first name and family name, Crescent/descending Crescent/descending.

  The settings should be saved automatically.

  Open Windows Mail > click Contact > to the column on the right, make a RIGHT on a place click Open > click Customize this folder > click on the pointer until you see Contacts > click Contacts > OK when finished.

  Open Windows Mail > click Contacts > right-click on an open space inside the right column > click Customize this folder > in the file types you want, click the arrow on the far right, until you see Contact, until it clicks > OK

  Windows Messenger Contact list is always stored in alphabetical order.
  It may not SEEM to be just because of the way that you entered addresses.
  When you first enter an address, you will notice there is a box for first name and a family name area.
  Make sure that do you this for all contacts, and then decide if you want to list first, first name or last name first.
  If all the above is done, you will see the list of how you want.
  Example: Last name first

  Open Windows Mail > click Contacts > in the window of the Contacts, right-click on the word NAME > click MORE > in the next window, select the name and click MOVE up to move the family name at the front very > click OK.
  The list will now begin with the names of family first.
