Windows Mail strange behavior

For the last few weeks, Windows Mail suddenly started to behave strangely:

1. in my 'box', when wants to delete a message that I have highlighted, it removes several other messages next to him (which I have not highlighted) at the same time.

2. when I select a message in my Inbox, I just want to look in the preview pane, it opens this message several times.

3. when I hit the answer on a message, it opens several response messages.

I am running Vista 32 bit Ultinate. Any ideas?

Hi Diana,

Thanks for the reply. Actually I just found the cause of the problem. In fact, it was because of my mouse! My mouse had to send double click or something. I changed the mouse and everything is back to normal. Thanks for your help anyway.

Rgds,

Kris

This is due to a series of bugs introduced by IE 9.  If you uninstall IE9, you'll see that the problems go away.  It is unlikely that there will be a fix, like those of Microsoft aren't replying to MVPs who contacted them on this matter.  You can also work around the problem by opening the message in a separate window.  See this thread for more information: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-networking/windows-mail-font-problems-after-installing-ie9/a4274c96-d44f-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

  • Strange behavior mouse Apple in ESXi VM (Windows Server 2008R2) / ESXi host is of type nested in Fusion Pro 8

    Hello

my Apple mouse shows strange behavior when I start my VM and click in it.

Its an ESXi host nested in a virtual machine in Fusion 8 Pro.

Can someone explain it to me?

    Kind regards

    Roland

He has always had problems when using nested desktop computers, and it is simply the result of the way the mouse behaves fundamentally and how this position gets interpolated differently with nested windows VMRC.

I would just connect to the console of the VM (via vCenter) directly from the Mac, with the guest.

(the 192.168.178.42 would be accessible from the Mac and the VMRC plugin works very well).

  • Very strange emails sent from my Windows Mail

About a week or two ago I went to my windows mail and I wanted to check if I already sent something.  What surprised me there was 5 emails I sent supposingly to my girlfriend who does only aYahoo account.  I asked if she knew the e-mail address in the message box, and she said that they are people she's known for a long time.  I don't know these people.
The e-mails that showed in my folder where sent about 2 min apart with different e-mail addresses of friends of long date.  I never sent them because I don't know any address of his friends.

To date, I showed another email that I have, nor that she sent to inquire about housing.  I called the phone number, so my real phone number did not show on caller ID I used a phone card prepaid and called from a P_ay phone.  It is a legitimate business.

No idea what the hell's going on?

  • Re: Issue of drafts of Satellite A200-28 and Windows Mail

    Hello

    can anyone help?
My laptop has SP1 on it and seems OK except with Windows Mail.

Every now and then when I put an email in the drafts folder when I return to finish writing it this stupid laptop has marked as an email sent so I can't change it.

I have to open select "just cut" and paste it into a new email.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Stupid thing, it's there are 6 other e-mails in there in some are finished, some are not.
Yet his chosen it to mark it as a read/sent email.

Check if you have installed the latest updates for Windows Vista? Thought, there was an update for Windows Mail or something like that.
This behavior was before you update SP1 already there?

But I couldn't be that he must look at its parameters. Maybe there are a few options on air currents and how they are treated.
Sorry, can't give you better help, because I only use Outlook.

  • Strange behavior USB Flash Drive Satellite A100-626

    Hello

I did install Windows Vista Business Edition on my Satellite A100-626 (PSAA9) following the instructions provided in the Web page of drivers.

So far, everything works as expected, except for one little (or no) question.

When I ask Vista to 'Remove hardware safely' my USB Flash drive, a Popup appears telling me to remove it. So far, so good :D

The only thing is that the flash player is not put out as could be expected and and yellow question mark appears in Device Manager.

Opening of the question mark can read what follows:

"Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been developed to remove safely, but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47) To resolve this issue, disconnect the device from your computer and plug it in again. »

Following the instructions above, the light turns off, lol...

Someone else met this strange behavior? If so, any solution?

I tried a few USB flashes that run well on XP and they both do the same thing.

    Thank you, Nuno!

    Hi Nuno

It's very strange. I have the Satellite A100-504 (comes with Windows XP Home edition). Last week, I installed Vista and all the stuff followed Toshiba document instructions facilities. I use the mouse wireless, external HDD USB web cam. With the help of these external devices together I never noticed a similar behavior.

You have the same situation with all the USB ports?

  • Problem with Windows Mail on Satellite L350-145

Establishment of a L350-145, I met a problem to start Windows Mail.
At first, I thought that the problem could have been due to a large Import OE, or an interaction with my AV (Kaspersky) or software firewall (Comodo).

However, having disabled from this other software, then by removing existing user Windows Mail files and finally have restored the system to the box start in HARD drive recovery files, I'm still having the problem, it's...

If I do a deed of record (for example, creating or deleting a folder), the list of records not updated until I exit and restart the Windows Mail application. Similarly, if I empty the deleted items folder that contains a folder deleted the content of deleted items not updated until I exit and restart the application.

Because this behavior is allowing me to perform actions on files that have already been made, I fear this could eventually lead to a corruption of file / data mean. And since I can reproduce this problem on a freshly recovered system * before * any operation others actions and installs, I'd be surprised to see that no one he met.

My conclusion is that there is a problem with the distribution of Toshiba for this laptop. The file name for the collection was 06491XSP.swm.

Try to update Windows Mail and see how it goes.

I think that its been via WindowsUpdate.

Otherwise, try the free (and big!) Mozilla Thunderbird

  • Windows Mail can receive but not send up to exit application

Hi and thanks for taking the time to read what I am in need of your help.

I have a Toshiba P200, Vista Home Premium, Tiscali as my ISP, Norton Internet Security for AV and firewall and access my broadband via Ethernet to a Belkin ADSL router (and occasionally a Siemens router) and I am experiencing some strange events with Windows Mail.

In short I can receive mail without any problems, but when I send the mail, remaining in the Outbox despite the option send immediately being checked, or by pressing the send/receive button. When I go out Windows Mail mail is sent immediately and is when I restart Windows Mail in the sent messages folder.

So why I think there is a problem with the laptop. Well, I'm lucky to have a friend who has a non-Toshiba laptop, where all of the above can be replicated. Guess what, Windows Mail sends the message exactly as it should (on my account and on my network, through my router and the ISP, Tiscali etc.), so I conclude that the only difference is that my laptop is a P200.

I called Tiscali, which confirmed that all my mail settings were OK, POP, SMTP etc, which I expect (because they work on the laptop from my friend), and they advised to contact Microsoft, I did, and since the P200 has pre-installed Vista they say that I need to contact Toshiba, and here I am.
My P200 has been restored to factory settings, and I tried to get this working without Norton IS and no firewall (Vista and router) but no luck.

Any ideas would be very appreciated and if I find through other means, I'll post back with the result. If the answer is already out there, please apologize for being too stupid to locate and beg your patience.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

It is typical for support persons. All of them are trying to refer clients and through them. In my opinion Microsoft s reaction is strange to me. They designed the operating system and they should be responsible for the feature.

I have the Satellite A200 and Satellite P200D and I use Windows Mail on two of them successfully. My laptop is connected to the WIFI router and router directly to the phone line. To be honest, I have configured Windows Mail as you and all of the work are made in a few minutes.

It is not easy to tell where the problem may be, but I think that there is a problem with some settings of your laptop. Some of them block it somehow. To compare your, with friends laptop is also not the best because it can have completely different OS settings (antivir application, the settings of the firewall).

Try turning off all the features that can block Windows hotmail to see if there is some difference.

  • Slider Windows Mail

Recent updates have caused my cursor behave strangely - a form of large ring around it that shrinks and then in the location of the cursor. then the reforms concerning every 5 sec (narrowing bullseye).  This happens whenever Windows Mail is open, any other program is running. I don't remember exactly when it expanded, but it's recent.
Running Vista Home Premium, 32-bit, SP2, IE 8, with more updates all the installed.
    Hardware - Dell Inspiron E1505, 2gig

    Dear Francis,

My grandmother told me that the simplest solutions are often the best.

Before starting the removal of updates to identify the problem, I first checked all my settings, including the mouse (I don't like not to touch keys).
Guess what?  Turn off the coast of "locate the cursor" setting stopped the problem. Some thing in one of the downloads changed this order somehow so she operated continuously. without overlay 'control '.

    FYI, standard settings, Aero theme

Thanks for your effort - said you makes you think before making some drastic as deleting something when I didn't know what it was for.  I'm too old to know a lot about the technical side or on the programming.

  • Issues coming out of "sleep mode" and strange behavior when restarting with GPU

I use a desktop computer HP P7-1240 completely stock except for a GPU EVGA GeForce GTX 750 TI SC. The GPU works well when the computer is running (which is strange because the forums have several other discussions mentioning the 700 series must be incompatible with my BIOS).

However, there are two main strange problems that have arisen since the installation of the GPU. One is that, every time that the computer enters mode "sleep", he refuses to wake back up correctly. It seems to me that the computer active but sends all the signals back panel (at the very least, no video because my monitors remain blank). On rare occasions, he wakes back correctly, but at least 90% of the time, it must be restarted. Upon reboot, the same problem sometimes (not), and the computer must be rebooted a second time until it will start again.

This leads to the second problem. During startup, the computer goes to a black screen, listing the specifications of basic computer skills (see attached photo. In this screen, the computer does not meet any entry.  He proceeds to beep 3 times, all the same length and height spaced about 30 seconds of gap. After the third beep, the screen goes black and then the computer starts normally with no other strange behavior.

Without the GPU, none of these problems occur. At the very least, not regularly.

I saw another thread mentioned that, while the HP support for my office page lists not her, there is an update of the BIOS for my motherboard which has fixed issues related to the GPU more modern. By nature it is an update of the BIOS that does not (seem to) officially support Windows 7, I am reluctant to go forward with this potential solution.

Although I intend to build myself a new computer from scratch at a certain point, I was hoping to get at least another year out of this machine, if not 2.  While this question does not seem to be immediately threatening the stability of the computer, I can't help but think that it is a question should I go quickly to avoid future problems (not to mention it would save me a good amount of electricity to be able to enter the mode 'sleep' on a regular basis).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Problem has been solved!

For those of you who have trouble sleeping with the p7-1240 or computers with a card mother identical (MSI Jasmine Ms 7778 ver 1.0), I suggest that you follow this thread:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-hardware/unable-to-boot-with-new-graphics-card/TD-p/3930544/highlight/true

It is to use an update for your BIOS that is intended only for PC under Windows 8, but that seems to work perfectly well with Windows 7 PC. It solved my problems of sleep and makes the computer to behave at least semi normally while restarting.

However, as indicated in the wire, an update of the BIOS should be a last resort because it can turn your machine into a very heavy and expensive paperweight if something does not work. Do not forget that you have the worm 1.0 card mother MSI Ms 7778 Jasmine and remember that you update the BIOS version 8.18.

As I am looking for 2aeo on HP.com currently (according to the thread leading up to), I'm not find the same links I found last week when I went through the update. However, you can find elsewhere.

  • Outlook Express 6 emails were stored on an external drive and are stored in folders with the name of people. Is it possible to import them to Windows Mail on Windows 7?

The strange things about this is that the mails are visible when you view them via Solution Explorer and they can be added to Windows Mail one by one.  However, they do not seem to be in a dbx file and they are not imported when the folder is selected.  Don't know how all these emails got it sorted by name of the person (in the folders).

First of all, please note that Windows Mail is not provided and does not normally work under Windows 7. Perhaps mean you Windows Live Mail, which is a differnet program and also does not come with Windows7, well that many manufacturers together with the computers they sell.

  • Using Windows Mail BT mail

I constantly have problems in sending and receiving mail from my internet account BT via Windows Mail.  Messages will be missed or simply not materialize, call the help of BT line; they blame Microsoft for problems?  This is the last error message - failed to connect to the server. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Socket error: 10061, error number: 0x800CCC0E yet all parameters are such recommended, so is this you Microsoft or BT being economical with the truth?

Thanks for the details, a strange thing happened in what I put to the incoming and outgoing to 'Secure' and received the following message - connection to the server has crashed. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Socket error: 10060, error number: 0x800CCC0E - I then unplugged them only to find a machine to steam of emails not received in the Inbox!

I don't see why they did not come through then the value without the need to 'Secure '?

I also thank those with safety information, I've been using "Care" and he played until the end slightly and I suspect there is a link with mail it - maybe I should go back to "Norton!

  • How to remove 'hidden' contacts that do not appear in my contact list in Windows Mail?

I have a contact in mail. I guess that it was put there by a few emails I inadvertently opened. Anyway when I try to fill in the "to" box on a message that I normally get an AutoComplete list, I put in the first letter of the name, if there are several names starting with the same letter. Now, when I start typing a name with the letter 'L', instead of the 4 names in my contact list that start with 'L', I get the full name of a spammer, let's call him "loser at lumphead dot com. When I went to my list of contacts to remove this stupid I couldn't find this address! So I have 3 questions. Where Mail did in fact raise the file which has the coordinates? How an address to get into the system like that and stand out of the list of contacts? Most important: how to remove a contact 'hidden' like that?

Thank you for your quick response.
No, Shawns response suggested to go to the C:\users\myname\contacts file and delete it from there. I had tried before when I tried to locate the list of contacts somewhere outside Mail (sorry I forgot to mention that). But the contacts Vista file did not show this 'hidden contact' either. But further down the page, I found an answer to a similar problem. Gary van in reply to "re: delete contacts autocomplété" gave this link.

    http://www.Winhelponline.com/articles/264/1/utility-to-clear-recently-used-email-addresses-in-Windows-mail.html

This leads to a file called winmailmru.zip. This tool allowed me to bring up a window showing ALL the contacts which it previously 'hidden', with options to remove them. I selected and deleted. Problem solved.

But I still wonder: where was hiding the contact "hidden"? If it wasn't not in Contacts of Vista directory where Mail was from?  How this winmailmru.exe utility it found? It is also strange that the contact in question seems to have the ability to bypass the selection popup box that shows generally all other contacts beginning with the letter typed and force his way into the 'To' box, excluding the possibility of chooseing another contact. I am happy that my immediate problem is solved, but I wonder if the ability of a person sending a mail to 'hide' a normal contact and overide process in Mail is a security problem or just a nuisence? Anyway, thanks again for putting me on the path to the solution.

  • Windows Mail - the scrolling is jerky (slow delay) when electronic reading

This problem seems to have slipped on me, an update of the system is perhaps the cause, but I can't identify any changes that might have caused the it.

The problem is that in Windows Mail. When you read a mail, scroll upwards or downwards by undergoes post half a 1 second delay between the action of scrolling and scrolling of the message. By scrolling action, I mean using the previous page or next page, by clicking on the scroll bar or by using the mouse wheel - all of these actions are exactly the same jerky scrolling.

I almost emptied all my messages while I just in my Inbox, all the other folder is deleted after the export of messages. My contacts have also been reduced to 22. I have compacted the database on a stop of messaging. None of this has made all the difference.

I'm out of ideas because it is not possible to reintall Windows Mail only. Strange that I can't find anything in the forum. Do you want?

Try to compact and repair the database.

  • I use windows mail and put so once I go to windows mail notes are deleted from the Yahoo Server. Now, all of a sudden, they go in the trash of Yahoo instead of disappering

    Windows with Yahoo mail.

I use windows mail and put so once I go to windows mail notes are deleted from the Yahoo Server. Now all of a sudden, they go in the trash of Yahoo instead of disappering. I use Yahoo mail for junk and spam of the screen, empty the trash from Yahoo, then open the remaining notes with Windows Mail after the release of Yahoo. This has just begun.

It is not clear if you use a POP3 server or an IMAP account - it sounds as if it were an IMAP.  I don't know how messages get tossed into the trash from Yahoo rather than be removed.  You could try to remove the account, closing and reopening of Winmail opener and then adding the new account.  This resolve sometimes strange questions.  Also check interference antivirus (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).
