I have a Surface RT and it would be fantastic if I could connect to my desktop (in one way or another) and target this device of VS2012 as opposed to an emulator on my desk. If this isn't the case, I'll have to consider to borrow a phone WP8, assuming you can install apps on here from VS2012 in the same way you can for Android of Eclipse.

  I'm on VMware Fusion 5.01 under OSx 10.8.2 Cougar on mid 2012 MB Air with Core i7 Intel.

  I try to use a Windows 8 VM for WIndows Phone 8 development. The SDK seems to work the emulater Windows Phone in one are HyperV VM (virtual machine under VMware virtual machine). To do this, I activated the HYperV support in VMWare Fusion)
