Windows Update tries to install a fix KB951847 which has already been installed.
I replaced my hard drive earlier this month. During some updates Windows installs a hotfix has been installed KB951847. Windows Update keeps trying to install the fix even. It happens several times a day. How can I solve this problem?

I think that Windows Update tries to install an update that I don't need me
Update of Windows on the computer, I'll put in place says that this important update is available:
KB2699988 - a security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Vista for x 64 systems.
When I try to install from Windows update I get this error:
«Some updates have not been installed - failed: 1 update.» Error (s) found: Code 8007371 C - Windows Update encountered an unknown error.
It then provides a link to "Get help with this error" which takes you to a page of results from help and Support Windows. No listed results mention a C 8007371 error, but one of them is "Resolve problems with installing updates" I click on that one.The upper part of advertising Microsoft 'Fix - it' for "automatically diagnose and fix common problems with Windows Update. I have try this. The file runs and I select "detect problems and patch for me (recommended) - with a single click, we detect problems AND apply the patches on this machine" at the end of its run, the program informs me that "Troubleshooting is complete. He listed under 'Problems found', "components Windows Update must be repaired", followed by 'Fix the status - set' and a happy green check mark. For those interested, here are the details of the report:

A good time to check if the patch can be installed again!
I try from Windows update - fails with an error C 8007371
Restart and try again - fails with an error C 8007371So, I decide to try to download the file directly from microsoft and bypass the Windows Update mechanism
Downloaded KB2699988 from Microsoft.
Tried to install it in the 'normal' windows desktop: come to the last part of the green bar and then I get:
"Some updates were not installed - the following updates don't have not been installed: security for Windows Update (KB2699988).Tried again to install the SafeMode file. Had this error:
Setup Windows Update Standalone - Setup has encountered an error: 0x8007043c. This service cannot be started in Mode safe.Went on the forums and then I tried these challenges listed as possible solutions to this problem:
1 ran the System File Checker scan according to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212. He returned a value of "Windows Resource Protection has not found any breach of integrity."
2. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212 (2nd half of the page) listed by using the System Restore tool to move to another point in time. I have all the old points system, restore, so this isn't an option for me.
3. clean start up the PC and then ran Windows Update according to the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135: essentially the same as before. However, to stop all services, and then restart the Windows Update service, I tried, once again, to install the stand-alone Installer KB2699988 (file name of this file, for your benefit is .msu Windows6. 0 -KB2699988 - x 64). After the execution of this file, this message will appear: "Setup Windows Update Standalone - the update doesn't not apply to your system" OK is my only option here.So now the leaves wondering if this necessary update is really necessary at all. Why Windows Update says that I need this file which is not even for my computer?

Windows Update tried to install automatically over 163 k updates and she didn't particularly
Original title: not updated for Windows 7
I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro to replace my Vista OS is no longer supported. A week ago, tried Windows Update automatically installs more than 163 K updates. It locks up my computer at night and mostly did not. Once the computer is restarted Finally, I changed the setting to automatic updates to the manual. Since then, the update crashes and fails to install. I tried to run FixIt, convenience store and standalone installer. These also just hang out without ever "disputes" or completion. I also tried the search for updates failed and download them directly from Microsoft. Each time, the dialog box shows the facilities are successful, but they show as failed in the history of the update. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Whenever the device driver is selected there is just a blank page that appears. There are no announcements of any drivers anywhere, or visible by any way within Windows 7 Home Premium. For this reason there is no way to check on all the drivers or the parts of the system to see if there is no system conflicts. I have a driver repair program that when search enabled for and comes with a list of drivers on the computer and indicates the factors that bear on a date and will go through the steps to change but since I have no way to see the driver manager or it's poster so I can't say if something is changed.
If I have something again plug it into a USB Port, the computer recognizes that something has been plugged, but that it will not open the directory automatically, as it used to do. For example if I put in a CD or a DVD that has auto start it won't, so it's just sitting there. If I use Windows Explorer and click computer directory will show a device for example: DVD has a DVD named such and so in the drawer.
Plug-and-Play is selected and activated, but it seems that it does not work. If I plug a USB key into the USB (any USB port) it sometimes it indicates with a beep or a pop-up window indicating something was plugged or removed as the case may be.
If this file has been deleted, if it is to cause such a thing? This computer (gateway) has a grounded partition which has a restore works however it resets all default settings etc. or can erase all files. If there is a way to download the missing files, which makes Driver Manager do its thing, it would be a good thing. Any suggestions?
22/07/2013
Thank you for your suggestions. They were a good start, I followed everything as suggested, but nothing helped.
1. as to the question was just a new program installed before this problem? The answer could be Yes. But unknown to you, because I can't be sure of the effective date of what's going on.
I tried to go back, at an earlier date, but it did not help.
2. for Plug and Play - he already is set to Auto and is active, but it is grayed out and I can't change it. So it turns out that I'm locked somehow. Even if I am put as an administrator.
3. I went into the registry and everything what you suggested is already there.
4. the problem still exists.
Always looking for HELP
DwBent
Hi DwBent,
I would be grateful if you could answer the following question:
Were there any software or hardware changes made on the computer before this problem?
This can cause if the Plug and Play service is disabled (disabled people); I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps and check if it helps;
Method 1:
To resolve this problem, set the startup type for Plug-and-Play on automatic. To do this, follow these steps:
(a) click Start, click run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
(b) double click on Plug-and-Play. If you receive a Configuration Manager message, click OK.
(c) in the Startup Type list, click Automatic, and then click OK.
(d) Community Services.
(e) restart the computer.
Method 2: The other reason, Device Manager may be empty is because there are some security issues with the registry key.
Warning: Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. (f) add the group "everyone" and the "SYSTEM" user.
(g) select "everyone" and check the "read" ONLY!
(h) select 'SYSTEM' and check the 'total control'.

I use symbolic links and shortcuts of programs as a way to easily open different Firefox profiles IE. one for casual/personal use and the other for work. It works well, but I get the error message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding" if I try to open external links with FF as my default browser. FF is actually open and works very well, but I guess that it does not recognize this fact due to how I started the beginning of the process.
I could not add executables symbolically related to the component of default program. Is there a way to get around this error or another way to solve this problem?
The solution to the question below, it's what I use to open the different profiles of FF.

Hello, it is probably the case when executing by default profile with the - non-interrupteur remote.

However, suite couldn ' t be installed.regsvr32 initpki.dll

regsvr32 slbcsp.dllDCOM service - access denied when running.
sfc/scannow couldn't fix some corrupted files.
Computer HP laptop came with Vista pre-installed, so I do not have the repair disk.
No doubt the system restore won't help, as I remember recently that c-Cleaner wiped the old restore points.
NOD32 Antivirus + Spyware Doctor still running. Already run MSRT and Super Spyware, but nothing much.
Kindly help!
