Workflow suggested to assign printing profiles.

I am eager to assign color profiles before editing it. I prefer to import my files on my card in a folder as CR2, the LRCC as identical COPY and use LR as my catalog. I also prefer use LR vs CR as my editor. However, when I export from LR (TIFF) to PSCC it bypasses CR and course load in PS I can assign ICC in PS but CR right holders that automatically and as PS I have to assign to each file?

Since Windows does not have a codec yet for my Canon 7 d MKii I can't visually see the files to import in CR. I use Canon DPP to view, but it exports to TIFF which would then go directly into PS, not CR.

I need a new workflow to incorporate a printing profile. Suggestions?

You, Sir, have opened my treatment technique to a new level! I was not satisfied with the output of printing houses. By comparing an impression to a monitor of course isn't apples to apples so if she looked good, I was happy. Yesterday I sent a file after you assign a printing profile. As soon as I applied the luminescence of the image profile dropped dramatically. When I got the impression, it has become WYSIWYG. This started my investigation of the whole process that makes for a clunky workflow. I now have an understanding of the color space pro photo and how I can continue to use LR throughout the process I used, return of the PS or the plugins I use. You have been a VALUABLE help and thank you very much!

I posted my problem in German, but it seems to have disappeared. I'll try again in English...

I bought a new printer and a new PC. I use Windows 10 and InDesign CC (currently still than the test version) and CC Photoshop and Lightroom CC.

I got new for my paper tray printer profiles and my new printer (Canon Pro 10s).

Profiles have been saved under color - pilots - spool - system 32 - c: Windows, same as I have always done in the past. I believe that it is correct for Windows 10 and CC, as the new show of profiles upward in the print menu in the selection of profile drop in my InDesign (trial version CC and CS5) and LR CC - but not in the print for Photoshop menu. I tried with a right click on the profile itself and then 'install', nothing happens, but I guess that this must be the case that it show up under ID CC and LR. I tried reinstalling PS, does not help.

Under 'Edit' in PS and "assign profile" new profiles show, but not in the print menu.

Someone at - it any idea why this should be, and how can I solve the problem?

Be good to reduce the profile or Photoshop by us two using exactly the same profile. As posted above - happy to send you a copy of the generic version that loads OK here.

Once downloaded, right-click on the file, then choose install. When you export or print from Lightroom, you must select the corresponding printer as the color space profile.

The OP is using a Mac, therefore, installation via right click is not an option. The profile should just be copied users / ~ / LibraryColorSync/folder profiles

  • Want 5530: Install 5530 want twice on same PC with different printer profiles

Running Windows 7 Pro.  I want to install my 5530 printer like the first time with the name of the printer that includes 1 side printed and it default profile 1 side printed.   I would then like to install this same printer a second time, but with a name that indicates 2-sided with his descriptive default on 2 sides.  The first install the Panel very well.  However, the software will let me install a second time.  It stops in the process where I tell it to connect via USB.

I can install it using the Win7 "Add a printer", but nothing will be printed on it.  It seems to use a port USB, for example USB006, where the printer software creates a "printer virtual port xxxx".

    1. How can I install the 5530 desire a second time on the same PC with this own printer profile?

    2. in the "Devices and printers" Win7, it sort of just "copy" the first instance/profile of the printer to a second instance if I can just change the profile?

    Hello

Devices and printers, click Add printer and select a local printer.

Select the LPT1 port, and then click Next.

Select HP or Hewlett-Packard in the manufacturer list, then the HP Envy 5530 in the printer list, and then complete the wizard.

Once you have finished, right-click the existing copy of the 5530 (the one created by the HP software) and select printer properties.

The tab of Ports to take note of the selected channel and close the window.

Right-click the newly added copy and select printer properties, select the same port as configured for the original printer and press OK.

You can set each printer as required and name it accordingly.

  • What happened to my printer profiles

I guess that I had not printed a photo in some time in Lightroom, so when I tried to print on my Canon pima mg6320 using Canon glossy photo paper, I found is no longer my printer/paper showing profiles.  I spent the last hour or if you wish to book for these, and I'm coming up with nothing.  I remember a series of choices.  I recently deleted my printer and reinstalled the software.  I had to download updates to El Capitan.  What should I do to add these printer profiles?

I have reinstall all printer drivers, etc..  I downloaded a new game just in case where my original El Cap updates were not the last and best.  The other thing I did was reboot after download and install and remove printer.  This allowed Mac to find the printer itself.  I found ready to choose from 2 printers, a printer Hello and a Canon network printer.  When I chose the Hello device, there is no printer profile but when once again, I have made a withdrawal from the printer and restart and chose the network printer, profiles were there.  Go figure.

  • Default print profile is not known when returning to the print Module

With the latest Lightroom CC on a Windows 7 with the latest updates, all of a sudden the printer profile in the print job / the color of the right side of the print Module management framework is therefore more pre-filled with the last printer profile I used. It is always empty when I re-enter the print Module.

    Anyone else got this problem?

I tried to create a new preferences file, but that did not help.

  • How to select a color printer profile in Lightroom.

I have a couple of profiles of color icc printer installed in Windows, and I can see them in the color management module. In Lightroom, when I want to print to a jpeg file, and then select the color management, I get a few choices but not the profiles that I installed. If I choose ONE, I'm supposed to see a list of my other profiles, but do not see. What can I do? I deleted and reinstalled the profiles, but that does not change. Yjamks.

LR doesn't show you what profiles are installed on your computer.

Under LR / Print / print / profile: click the other...

On the popup put a check mark in the display profiles include at the bottom and you should see a list with boxes to tick, that you can select.

If you do not see this, then make a print screen and show us what you see by including this print-screen in a message, here.

I think there are a lot of other profiles in the example above, because the user providing screenshots has also installed Photoshop that installs a certain other profiles.  If you have installed LR there that many others, but I expect to see the RGB those you already have visible with check marks next to them already.

  • Suggestions on workflow? (Flash-> Illustrator-> print)

    Hello

At work, I have done elearning graphics and animations for years and have been using Flash for almost everything. Now, we are developing some of our materials to e-learning for screen AND print. Ofcourse content has its differentiated on platforms, but the Visual material must be the same. As I know nothing print and Illustrator, we hired someone with these skills.

Over the years, Flash has become my main tool for graphics development (as I am digital only), and our new print workflow begins with my flash designs being converted into SVG and then imported into Illustrator. So far so good... BUT of course, the colors are a nightmare. Flash doesn't have CMYK and color profiles, and this means that my colleague-print must manually change each single color my drawings to adapt for CMYK, color profile and the type of printpaper.

Someone here has a suggestion on our workflow changes to address these issues of color?

PS. I know that I might just start using Illustrator instead of Flash, but the time required for the switch actually is not an option at the moment. My colleague-print does not have the kind of drawings I do, so she will not be able to do the graphics from scratch.

PPS. Yes I know that Flash is supposed to be "obsolete". I also used edge animate for a few years now, but I still don't have my graphics in Flash (which could make a triumphant return to this years MAX!) )

You're at least using a limited color palette?

In the case where a limited game predictable RGB color must match a set of CMYK colors, you can convert using an action.

If this is not the case, you could actually save time if you learn how to use Illustrator. And learn to think in print. When that you wait for the right time to arrive?

Or at least just the way work in Flash, then move to Illustrator to do the coloring it.

Your colleague does know how to use the function "Recolor art"?

  • color for web and print profiles

    Hello

I'm editing photos from my digital SLR. They were shot as jpg in Adobe RGB. I'm editing photos for both web and print right now and I was wondering if there is a way to do so that I would be able to change for both at the same time in the process of Photoshop.

Here are the details for what I usually do:

For printing, I would work in AdobeRGB photos while the check option has the working CMYK value (usually SWOP, depending on which printer I use). Then I would flatten the work, resize and sharpen and change the color to CMYK mode, save as TIFF.

For the web, I used to edit while RGB color settings are defined in sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 and verification is set to RGB monitor. I flattened, resize and sharpen and save for Web.

Is it possible that I can edit a single photo (shot in Adobe RGB) so that they can be used for BOTH print and web? I know CMYK or RGB would mean they would end in search of different end, but is be possible that I can have a single Photoshop file for the photo and go through the steps needed to make it ready for printing and for the web... or because of the color profiles and linguistic verification options , there is nothing I can do but to edit each photo twice?

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help.

First of all I suggest you just started shooting RAW not Jpeg.

then personally I work in AdobeRGB. I place my PSD AdobeRGB in ID and the CMYK conversion is done when I do my PDF. for web work I convert to sRGB when I use save for Web. Do not use your monitor profile color proof for the web like that you have the correct monitor profile.
