would like to see device cdrom0 UNC: and \\.\cdrom0$ and \\.\cdrom0:

Currently, you can access c: as \\.\c: or \\.\c$ and also as \\.\PhysicalDrive0 (for example, physical drive range for any given drive letter) if I remember correctly.

HOWEVER, it has no such feature UNC paths for the readers of cdrom/dvd burner.

I'd like to see some actions or the UNC paths for this and/or the naming conventions in windows player. and since there may be multiple drives in a machine, I would like to see the numbers starting with 0 (zero).
for example,.
CDROM0: or \\.\CDROM0$ or \\.\CDROM0:

If microsoft would implement it, it would simplify things with regard to the content of the web pages on cdrom!
because then you could do stuff like autorun
[AutoRun]
Open = iexplore.exe file:///CDROM0:/index.htm

THIS will be possible. Currently, IE8 mangles it as http://index.htm/ which is completely false.

and by the way, autorun shellexecute = no longer works. It should be. It would be preferable instead of the above because it uses the default browser:

[AutoRun]
UseAutoPlay = 1
ShellExecute = index.htm

What would be REALLY interesting - is if it were in writing...

It has support for this.  In the document:

"Give names of files, paths, and namespaces.
 <>http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/Windows/desktop/aa365247(v=vs.85).aspx >

He states:

Another example of the use of the Win32 device namespace using the CreateFile function with "\\.\PhysicalDiskX" (where X is a valid integer value) or "\\.\CdRomX". This allows you to directly access these devices without going through the file system. This works because these device names are created by the system, as these devices are listed, and some drivers will also create other aliases in the system. For example, the device driver that implements the name "C:\". "have its own namespace which is also be the file system

Indeed, when I put a CD in my drive, I can open a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and enter the command:
dir \\.\CdRom0\\*.*
and it will return the list of files in the root directory of my CD player level.
