XP emulation under xp home professional

Just bought a refurbished computer that was supposed to have xp professional on it, but like xp home instead. I have a licensed software does not work on xp professional. I have to downgrade the operating system or is at - it a way to emulate xp family, or at least to have the program thinks I'm family XP instead of professional

Thanks for your reply. In fact, I installed the program and when I went to allow the program with the license key, it said that I could not allow the program with windows xp. I called their customer service and they said the standard version I have does not work on xp professional and of course asked me to upgrade at a cost of nearly $ 500. Well, since I'm betting I can find a copy of xp home and downgrade for less than that, I refused.  The program itself must recognize that I am running xp pro instead of xp family.  Because I know that the two are basically the same program I need to know if I can essentially downgrade xp pro at home.

  • Majority of the graphics are missing from the HTML version: HR 10 [10.0.1.292] under Windows 7 Professional, SP1

    Hello world

I am really frustrated right now and am ready to throw HR by the window. I use HR 10 [10.0.1.292] under Windows 7 Professional with SP1 and 16 GB of RAM. There has been no major changes to my computer other than standards fixes/updates to date which are systematically pushed down for us to work. I have not installed new software.

I worked on the same project file for the last 6-9 months and more. I have not changed directories. I have not changed the file names. I have not changed computers. My construction of the 25 September 2015 (which was our most recent product version) looked and worked perfectly.

However, on January 8, 2016, I updated the date of our copyright made one or two other typo corrections made and then build a new one. Apparently, that's when everything goes haywire. MOST (but, curiously, not ALL) graphics in my chm file had been replaced by the symbol ' broken / lack of graphic link. Here's a sample:

    Missing Graphics.JPG

The really weird thing is that every graph, without exception, displayed correctly in its section related when I open the subject to change, as well as in Preview Mode! Yet when I create my project and display the final result, the graphics disappeared. And this isn't a case where all the images are missing or visible in any given topic - some graphics within any given topic are there while others are missing.

But wait - it gets even MORE bizarre. IF I:

    • Open each topic in my project;
    • Double-click on each graph to open the dialog box Image ;
    • Click OK to close the dialog box Image (he did NO CHANGE see you ;))
    • Save the subject;
    • Close the topic;
    • Once that all the subjects have been "updated" then generate my primary Layout, all THE IMAGES ARE like MAGIC!

I've done this TWICE. But the minute I close my project, go home for the day, open my project Sunrise the next day, make some changes more and then generate my main layout, I'm back to square one and most of my images were once more POOF! I simply cannot continue touching each chart every day! My project includes 535 topics and about 850 graphics - many are reused across so touching each of them is really out of the question.

I did several searches trying to find just a small idea of what is happening. I'm really at the end of my mind - I hope someone has an idea how to solve this problem - as I said, I'm ready to scream!

  • Why 2 partitions of OS on HP dv9628 laptop computer under Vista Home Premium?

I was just checking my wife of the older HP Pavilion dv9628nr under Vista Home Premium with 2 HARD drives.  I didn't even know he had 2 HARD drives.  I opened the case to make sure.

Here is a screenshot of disk for system management.  I have a few questions:

    1. Why is there a system operating on each HARD drive partition?

2 are 2 necessary and deleted maybe?

Generally however, the C: drive is not always your primary. This may change if based on the installation program. The installer in this book, could be Raid. This is where the 2 drives are used to create a combined drive. Based on the laptop being adverstised as a drive of 240 GB, but with 2 120 GB drives in it. This is most likely how it was setup. To know for sure you'd have to check to see if this feature is enabled in the BIOS.  Before you change any settings that you would like to make sure that you have recovery discs and backed up all the content. As having the OS on a single disk, you will need to disable Raid in bios and probably to format both drives. Then reinstall the operating system on you get (the one listed as C:, to avoid complications).

This article (from ehow.com) can help with your Bios check, so that you can see if Raid is enabled and if you choose to disable. How to disable Raid BIOS

I hope you're able to help.

  • Get advice on connections wireless for PC under XP Home SP3

I have an old PC of GP7-700 of Gateway with Pentium III running at 733 Mhz and 512 MB of RAM under XP Home SP3, and I want to explore the possibility of this wireless (such a Word?) to my BT Home Hub broadband connection.  My question is this. What should I do in terms of additional material to appeal to my broadband on this PC? (I currently have a laptop with a wireless connection which works fine).  I think I might buy a PCI fast Ethernet for my PC and connect it via a direct cable from PC to my BT Home Hub, but it would be more enjoyable or easier if I could do this wireless connection. It's just that I don't know if I need any hardware other than a USB wireless adapter, so I would be grateful for any comments from the hardware of the guru there. My PC does not have a NETWORK adapter installed and the USB ports I have are all USB 1.0 ports.

You can use a wireless USB adapter, but personally I prefer to keep my network on the USB hub (especially if it's only a USB 1.x hub).  My first choice would be to buy a wireless PCI card.  Just Google "Card PCI Wireless" and you will be presented with many choices in the range $20 - $30.  Just as taste wireless make sure (B, G, N, etc.) is compatible with your wireless router.

  • Lost my software of fingerprint on Pavillion HDX9200 (under Vista Home Premium)

    Hello

I've had arguments with my recently updated to the PersonaPersonal software version...

He blocked me on some Web sites (or so I thought) and I decided to uninstall this software.

Now I really miss being able to connect with a fingerprint.

Where can I find the correct version of this software for my HP Pavillion HDX9200 that can run under Vista Home Premium?

    Thanks for your help!

You must install the fingerprint sensor driver and software separately. Here are links to information and download:

I'm unable to load the microsoft KB 2378111 security update. I'm under Vist Home Premium. I get the error code 80070020. I tried safe mode, but no luck so far

    Hello

You are supposed to try it in "Safe Mode with network"; not 'Safe Mode'.

You need a cable connection; no wireless using this method.

Start method 3, etc at this link if top is not solve:

"Error 0 x 80070020 when you use the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site to install the updates.

  • Tecra S1 under Windows 2000 Professional external display problem

As I can't answer in the original thread (1831), because it is locked, I put here my answer to the answer of the Quad.

Quad first wanted to know if we have installed the Tecra S1 on a recovery CD.

No, we do not have. We have created an image that consists of an unattended installation. It is installed from a Windows 2000 RIS server.

Quad also said that the Fn + F5 is enabled after the installation of the utility Hotkey for display devices.

We downloaded the hotkey utility, but when we tried to install it we got the error message you "Driver not found" and suspended installation. We have installed as a user with administrator privileges.

We do something wrong, or this utility owes something to be installed as well?

    Kind regards

    The Netherlands.

    Hi again Mr. Hofman,

First of all I must tell you that this is a typical problem. AFAIK Tecra S1 comes with the Professional Windows XP Home edition and optionally with W2000 professional. This two OS has been tested and Toshiba offers all drivers and tools to Toshiba download website.

It will be interesting how you created this image. What was the basis for this image? You are installed to the first completely Tecra and after created image?

Have you had problems before the creation of the image?

  • Satellite L650 - upgrade from Windows 7 Home Professional

    Hello

I have the Satellite L650 - 15G with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition. Due to some limitations of this OS, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 professional since I am in Dubai, WAU is not available for me. I called Microsoft and they said I have to get through retailers.

My query is, is it all Toshiba support available in the UNITED Arab Emirates, to upgrade the operating system? Toshiba allow the upgrade through the channel of the where I bought my laptop?

    Microsoft is not good!

    Hello

As much as I know there no support for Toshiba to upgrade the operating system. Only the preinstalled OS will be supported, and some models are available with different versions of Windows.

In any case, I think that Microsoft is right and you will need to purchase a Windows 7 upgrade disk. Using this disk, you can start the upgrade. This should be possible without new installation so that all programs and data will not be erased.

  • Is it possible to re - move Win 7 Home Professional offline?

Our company has updated since Windows 7 Home for professional using Express upgrade.  The computer was removed from the network later. The computer cannot be reconnected to the network for security reasons. We need to re - install Windows. Is there a way to get a Win 7 Professional CD with our Anytime Upgrade key, or do we need to buy a separate CD?

    Thank you!

If I understand you correctly, you want to get a CD Windows 7 Professional and use it to install from scratch.

I'm afraid that's not possible. You must reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium first and then use your WAU key again the way you used it all first to upgrade.

Installin without CD is the main point of the WAU feature.

  • You see does not license under Administration - Home option

It is part 2 of my first thread where I asked how to apply the temporary license for 60 days of ESXi.  I have registered and the license key.  A few people sent me the link on how, but I don't see the option to license being mentioned in this guide.  I pulled to the top of my vSphere client, connected to ESXi.  You click home under the Administration section, the only icon I see is roles and system logs

You need to use the method in the link that has been validated license "standalone", not the vCenter one basis:

To allow a standalone ESX or ESXi 4.x (vSphere Hypervisor):

    1. Connect to the ESX/ESXi host with vSphere Client.
    2. Click the Configuration tab.
    3. Click licensedfeatures of software.
    4. Click change in the appearance under the license tab.
    5. Select assign a new license key at this host.
    6. Press enter and enter the license key.
    7. Click OK.

  • Install Japanese under windows XP Professional without installation CD. I try with Office XP in Japanese, but I have the problem.

I want to install the Japanese language in my windows XP Professional. But I don't have installation CD. So, I tried to look for how to install it without the installation CD. I just got this way for Office XP so far.
All first, I installed the Japanese language pack is http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8289, and it succeeded. Then I restarted my computer, but it can still read the Japanese letters.
And I have installed the Global IME (Japanese) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22917
While it was installing, an error message appeared. And he says this configuration requires Office XP. I feel strange because the page says that Japanese language pack isn't required Office XP Global IME (Japanese) says that. But when I was installing the Japanese language pack, there was no problem with Office XP. So, please help me. is there another way to install it? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Yes, you must install Office XP first.

Follow the steps to install the Japanese language pack.

    a. first of all uninstall any Japanese language installed in the Panel.

    b. restart the computer.

    c. then try to install the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Japanese) using the link below:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=22917

    d. then try to install the Japanese language pack.

Hope the above information is helpful.

  • I have a laptop under XP Home Ed SP3 who is stuck in a loop of connection. Can anyone help?

I have a laptop running XP Home SP3 Ed who is stuck in a loop of connection, in other words, when I try to log on it says "loading your personal settings" will Flash on the desktop for a fraction of a second and then says "saving your settings" and brings back me to the right at the log on screen.

I do not have the XP disc to reinstall and there is no recovery console to access. I've seen on many other forums that the problem may be with the userinit.exe file and I tried to copy this file in front of my PC - but with the fact that it is Windows 7 64 bit I don't really expect to work. Is it possible to download the correct version of this file from anywhere?

Another thought I had was to install a different version of Windows XP from an old obsolete machine and I was wondering if it would be possible to transfer the product key?

Managed to get windows reinstalled - all sorted now. Thanks for the suggestions.
