  • Satellite U300 - point of yellow exclamation on the Base system device

    I have a Satellite U300 PSU30E Windows XP, SP3.

After installing iTunes version 8 and after I rebooted, I get a popup that a new device has been added.
The "device wizzard" fails to locate the appropriate drivers and I get relevant messages that the appliance could not install and so on. ""
The system seems to work very well.

In Device Manager I see that, under the family of controllers IDE ATA/ATAPI devices, I have a yellow exclamation mark next to "Base system device". All devices IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers tree appear in good condition. The family tree of device is:

    -IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
    --- (!) Base system device
-Intel 8280 1HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller
    -Intel(r) ICH8M Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 2850

    -Secondary IDE channel

The machine seems not disabled on any topic, but I get the 'new device' message every time I start up as well as the routine "cannot install device.

No idea what kind of device is that 'base system device' in the family of the IDE controllers?
I reinstalled the drivers of Intel chipset to no change in the status of the device.

    Thank you very much!

What happens if you remove iTunes8?
You have the same problem after that?

It is really strange, but maybe it has something to do with the upper and lower filters. The point is that if you install the CD/DVD software, they install filters in the registry that can cause compatibility problems.

  • How to make base system device for windows 7__ drivers

I need drivers for the device basic system for window 7

    Hi Charles Cleaver,.

    1.

Please write what you need this driver. Computer laptop, desktop or perhaps motherboard. Give us information about the manufacturer and the model.

    2.

To resolve the problem with the Base system device , you need to install dirver chipset or card reader .

    3.

Go to: Control Panel-> Device Manager

Click with the right button of your mouse on each yellow sign with exclamation point ( ), and then choose Properties. Then click on background details and paste hardware id here. This way we will know what it is.

Below, an example of how you do it:

If you want to say thanks to someone just click on Vote as useful (i.e. under each avatar of the user).

If your issue is resolved, please indicate then your wire is with solution.

  • No installed base system device driver

I went to my first attempt to capture a base coat and ran into the issue that in Device Manager to the reference computer, which is a virtual machine, in the Device Manager, there are the yellow triangle indicating that the Base system device has no driver installed for it. I'm pretty sure it's the chipset driver, but I intentionally have not installed driver packages specific to the base layer that I have the drivers in the driver library and want to use the same base for our desktop and our laptops, with just different driver profiles assigned. When the base layer and the drivers get together, I guess that the problem will be solved. Do I put a few driver to clear the error in Device Manager, even if it is not the correct driver for the model of the computer that receives this base coat eventually? I am very new to this, so I apologize if this is a stupid question! Thank you.

I think that you can just ignore it. VMware tools is not recommended to be installed on the reference computer.

  • Base system device driver is missing

    Hello

I have a 5.0.3 Windows XP Virtual Machine VMWare fusion, where the Base system device driver is missing - displaying a yellow icon and causing the annoying new found hardware Wizzard to display at startup every time.

    The hardware IDS are:

    PCI\VEN_15AD & DEV_0740 & SUBSYS_074015AD & REV_10

    PCI\VEN_15AD & DEV_0740 & SUBSYS_074015AD

    PCI\VEN_15AD & DEV_0740 & CC_088000

    PCI\VEN_15AD & DEV_0740 & CC_0880

I tried to reinstall several times the VMWare tools, no help. This virtual machine was originally on an earlier version of VMWare, which I copied on this PC once it has been updated to Fusion 5.0.

    The vmx file is attached.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Kind regards

    Paulo

You must uninstall completely, no repair facility install/upgrade, VMware Tools and then reboot and install VMware Tools.  Have you done this yet?

  • Windows 7 RC - Portege M200 - Base system device

Windows 7 RC works well on my M200, but Device Manager is showing a "other device" without driver loaded. He is described as "Base system device" and properties indicates its location as "PCI Bus 2, device 13, function 0'.

I tried online searches and navigation within my M200 for a driver without success. I read elsewhere in these forums that the 'Base system device' could be tied up with the SD utilities. I downloaded a new copy of the SD utilities and installed them, but still no luck. Certainly, the SD format utility does not work - it recognizes not only an SD card in inserted - so maybe the necessary revision of SD utilities for Windows 7.

Not a major problem as I can format SD cards elsewhere, but it would be nice to receive a certificate of good health from Device Manager.

Has anyone another execution in this problem and even better, found a solution?

    Keith Woolf

You are right about revision. All the drivers, tools and utilities for Windows 7 must be designed and tested before they are offered for download. As you know Windows 7 is not yet on the market and the public support can not be started. With first notebook comes with Windows 7 Toshiba Toshiba will be support for the new site and some old models of laptops.

Sorry but there is nothing you can do about it.
