Selection of the layer not bound to cancel the story when the effect controls panel is open.
Did anyone else noticed strange with the undo history behavior when the effect controls panel is opened?
Try this:
1. have the layers panel, the history and the visible effects at the same time.
2. open an image
3. duplicate the layer
4 make a new empty layer
5. take the Brush tool and paint two strokes on the new Virgin layer
6 return the layer duplicated under the layer of white and two strokes of paint
7. in the history panel, back in the States in history and look at the layers panel
Now close the effect controls panel
1. in the history panel, select the last State of history
2 go back in the history States
Noticed a difference?

How can I create an association in my control panel to open a jpg photo?
Whenever I try to open a jpg photo an error appears and tells me to go to my control panel and create an association. I have tried and tried, but he cannot know.
Three ways to define a file association:
(1) try this... open a folder of images and right-click
your file image... from the menu, select... Open
With / choose program.Make your choice from the list, or click Browse for the
correct program if it is not in the list. If you want
the Windows XP default... choose "Windows".
Picture and Fax Viewer'.Once you make your choice... don't forget to check
the box that says: "always use the selected program."
to open this type of file. (you will need to do
for each format, jpg, .tif, .gif... etc.)(2) also... you can right click an image and the
menu... Choose... Properties / change button...
Choose the program you want to use, then click on...
OK / apply / OK.(3) also in Windows XP, you can go to... My computer.
Tools / Folder Options / File Types tab...Scroll to the bottom for. JPG... left click to highlight...
Look on the main panel just underneath and you will see
"" For details. "" JPG"and it will display the default value
Association. "Open with XXXXXX."On the left, click on the button 'restore '...
Now you should see:
Details for. JPG / opens with...
'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer'

Parental controls does not open
I can't open the Parental controls after you open once, and then close it. I can open it once after the computer has been restarted, but if I close the window, I can not open again until I restart my computer. I tried to open it from a shortcut on my desktop which produces a flash on the screen as it is going to open but immediately goes. I tried to open it directly from the control panel with nothing at all happens. I tried right click and click open between these two places. Nothing seems to work. Suggestions? I have to minimize the window of my taskbar so I can access without having to always restart my computer whenever I need to make a change, which is often. But if I accidentally close the window, I have to restart my computer to be able to open it again.

Why my java Control Panel windows7 opens when I click the icon?
I am running windows 7 64 bit edition Home premium on my laptop. I had to do a system restore and now my java icon opens the control panel. Can someone help me with this problem? I've deleted and reinstalled my Java as suggested. My icon is working now, however, I now have a 32 bit Java and my computer is 64-bit. Can someone tell me how to get a 64 bit version?
You can download it here
http://www.Java.com/en/download/manual.jspNote the fact that you're computer is 64-bit isn't really the issue. If you use the 64-bit version of Explprer Internet or another browser 64-bit and the 64-bit Java is also necessary. Otherwise not so much.

Original title: clicking on but nothing happens
When I select "backup and Restore Center', 'System', 'Windows Update', 'Power Options' and a few others in Control Panel, nothing happens. Sometimes a window flashes for a split second before disappearing. Any suggestions?
Hi Ron68PB,
1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?
2 are you able to open other programs?
3. do you get error messages or error codes?
Method 1:
You try to run a SFC scan to check the corrupted system files.
You can read the following article to launch the SFC scan:
How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Method 2:
Alternatively, you can try to check if the problem occurs in safe mode.
Check out the link:
Start your computer in safe mode

Hope this information is useful.

Upstream is not showing control panel not / broken
The preflight Panel does not appear. Call from the main menu (window > output > preflight), or the bottom of the window document or via the keyboard shortcut - none of them work - the preflight Panel seems for now shorter, then disappears. No other part of the interface seems to be broken or behave in the same way.
System
Mac OS 10.6.8 InDesign CC version 9 and Indesign CC version 9.1
Previous versions:
Exactly the same behavior in CS6 (8.0.1)
Works fine in CS5.5 (v7.5.3)
Measures taken to solve the problems:
Reproduce the problem in a Mac OS X guest account.
Reproduce the problem after resetting preferences (as described in the post 101 troubleshooting: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990?start=160 & tstart = 0 ( )
Tried to disable the control (via the menu bottom of document preflight) upstream. Tried to create new profiles.
Removed / reinstalled preflight profiles?
Don't know how I could do that, but it occurred to me, that might be helpful.
Using non standard preflight profiles?
No, using the supplied preflight profile.
All troubleshooting advice appreciated...
Turns, I managed to get the preflight Panel to display. Here's how: I changed my workspace to one that included the upstream ("printing and proofing") Control Panel. Simple as that.
However, the problem persists when I invoke the Panel in the preflight down window or shortcut menu - the preflight Panel still flashes and disappear instantly. It must be some sort of bug in the user interface.
However, I now have a workaround.

I prefer NOT to open e-mail messages that are junk, because I believe that it could notify the junk e-mail they found an active email address. However, if I right click on an email in my Inbox unopened and select "Mark" and then "as Junk," the email is placed in my spam box (which I prefer) but shown open. Is it possible I can stop emails opening when they are put into my junk mail box?
You can try to uncheck the option "mark judged undesirable messages as read".
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Thunderbird-and-junk-spam-messages
In all cases, when you mark a message as spam, it is not open. He gets just marked as 'read '.

That being said, I have scanned for viruses and spyware (as suggested on other sites). Still nothing.
HERE'S WHAT OF ODD.
After a reboot and the control panel will not be opened (as well as My Documents, search, Recycle Bin, my computer, etc) I have right, click on start, properties tab of the Menu start customize key, your advanced, and select control panel - display as a link (IT IS ALREADY SELECTED) click OK and apply. NOW I CAN REACH JUST AS USUAL. Once I reboot it is back to again be a problem.BTW it does not work in safe mode.
Hi Ali,
To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:
1. you receive an error message or error code?
2 did you do changes on the computer before the show?
You can download the fix from the article below and run it. Then check if the problem persists:
