• FCPX - export of timeline issues

  Hello

  I can't export my calendar from FCPX. My export destinations are grayed out for this project and the error message - 'a missing titles or offline, effect or the generators.' appears. He said - "this item can be shared while it's still media reference on the camera." but there is no SD card or camera attached.

  Can anyone suggest anything to remedy this?

  Probably one of the two options: import of original media was not finished until the session has been completed or if optimized was created to import, transcoding was not completed. Optimize you? You have the original media - card of the camera or on a copy of the card (or archives)? If you do, you can use the re-import command that is available in the file menu.

• Timeline scroll bar disappears when the trackpad is on

  Recently, I connected a trackpad to my iMac.  Then I discovered that the scroll at the bottom of the timeline in FCPX bar has disappeared.  So I disconnected the trackpad and restarted FCPX, and the timeline scroll bar reappeared.

  Then, I learned that if the trackpad is turned on and connected when I run FCPX, the timeline scroll bar is not there.  But if the trackpad is switched off/disconnected, the timeline scroll bar is here.

  Once more I found how I want to work in deadlock by deciding to Apple how should work.

  I want to use my Kensington trackball and trackpad Apple at the same time, and I want that scrollbar current timeline.  Is it possible that I can make the scroll bar appear when I have connected trackpad?

• Timeline lost after accident FCPX

  I use a MBP13"having just finished happily (and exported) a video approx. 27 min so I was just import a logo image of my office ready to go to share > blu - ray and it just disappeared from the whole project... FCPX now displays a timeline of 7 min and not 27 min video that I created...

  I tried the file > open library > backup and still not repaired. It's a bit worrying.

  First of all, after a crash, remove preferences, because they can be corrupted when an incident (hold down the command and option during startup, and then click on remove preferences).

  Second, are you sure that you:

  (1) published in a project and not in the chronology of the clip?

  (2) look at the chronology right? Select a smart collection of 'Projects' library - do you see the project it?

  No shot right here, these are the facts. Buyer warned on upgrading... Make sure you have an installer backup to an earlier version if you want to try the upgrade.

• Open in the timeline

  When you use FCPX, I right click on an item in a project to "open in timeline" once it opens in its timeline, the video in the Viewer is black, I see the clip in the timeline itself, it has a sticker on it, but I can't see the video in the Viewer. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

• FCPX jump during the import of the band. Analysis of the root causes?

  I have a camera Sony TRV-900F video connected via FW800 to an iMac late 2009 with 16 GB of RAM, a quad core i7 2.8 and one 1 original to HDD with El Capitan.

  When I import one of my miniDV tapes (which are between 2000 and 2012 about and been wound and rewound before capture and which were mainly recorded in one take on new tapes Sony and never reused) FCPX any images in fragments of random size (from a few hundredK to 10-14 MB) and frequently shows loss of images and some audio distortion imported into the timeline and re-read.

  Final tried to create archives first and then import, but the result is the same.

  What I don't understand, is that, at least apparently, none of these problems of 'corruption' appears if I look/hear the tapes in camcorder Sony itself!

  I tried to use iMovie and same fragmentation occurs so I guess it is not related to the SO FCPX itself.

  So far, I have received the iMac 1 TB hard drive and now have tried to import on a 128 GB SSD in a USB enclosure (which is USB3, but if I'm not mistaken my iMacs USB ports are USB2). Even to jump occurs.

  Maybe I need to configure the SSD in a different way and to define not only as the backup directory for imports?

  If the best ideas don't come to mind the next tests I'll make are:

  (a) purchase of a NEW band and try to record and import from it. If it works, this would indicate the older strips are damaged, but it does not explain why they look good in the camera.

  (b) purchase a head cleaning cassette and to use it carefully and see if he would heal playback and import.

  Try the import with QuickTime player and see if you get the same results.

• FCPX video source smooth but not in the panel mounting or output

  I have some video that was shot on an iPhone 6s. When I find the video in the preview of the finder or Quick Time Player, it plays perfectly.   Hello useful community! A two-part question.

  I'm just getting started on the video production and have some needs in mind. I hope you can let me know if FCPX can do that hopefully, if there is an obvious solution, I am missing, or some of you approach use.

  I'll be doing a few videos of interview style and will have several camera angles, with that I need to work. So if I understand correctly to work with iMovie, I'll have a main video timeline and then 'cut' in and out secondary structures for the other angles. But I must have a logo sitting in the corner as well. Is there still enough chronologies to cut in different camera angles while having a timeline showing the stationary chart? iMovie does not you have only your primary and another calendar cut in and out, but I hope that FCPX has the ability to overlay 2 more than at a time? Or maybe I'm going about this the wrong way need?

  The second part is linked, I want to be the logo/text animation because it is (as a brief introduction). Not throughout the entire video or something extremely complex, but to animate shapes and text sliding in such that the name of the speaker, the name of show graphics, etc... And I'm hoping to create my own custom animations, not the familiar "motions of text" located in iMovie. I feel like the examples I found online that all look like they have animations the same model and I hope for much more creative in this area occasionally, if that makes sense. In its most simple example I guess, the design and animation capabilities/techniques you can do in Keynote for graphics/text that can be market timed, fades, slides, etc.

  Is FCPX the right program to incorporate more complex forms of text animations as well? Or is it the work of another software?

  Yes, you can make custom animations. For more complex animations, you use Motion.

• URGENT! Best way to send a large project FCPX to another editor?

  You may not use the managed media when you are working. Assign an external location for your media in the library properties. Consolidate the library for media are moved out of it. Create a library of transfer where you copy the items you want to share with the other editor. Send it to them. They have a record that must match yours with the media. They reissue the multimedia content.

  The video file is not correctly displayed in the timeline panel. Are there audio set the video. You can expand the file into the compound to show video and audio?

• FCPX backup copy / pasted Time Machine drive does contain any of my changes.

  So I had to reformat my computer, but before I did I made that Time Machine backup of my computer. When you reinstall the operating system, I chose NOT to re - install Time Machine backup. Instead I started clean and then just hung out and let down my FCPX library file of the external drive for Time Machine on the newly formatted Mac desktop. When I open the library of 500 GB, none of my edits exist, even if I had about 40 hours of changes in the project. I'm sure that the backup is somewhere, but I can't find it. Any tips?

  Backups must be in a file in ~ / movies. This is the default location.

  Have you ever used the clip open depending on the timeline? Check each of your clips and see if they are approximately the same length as your project.

• Stuttery playback in FCPX

  I have the newer model iMac, everything is upgraded, and 64 GB of RAM. All software are the latest versions. I'm running on an issue where I play the timeline in FCPX and after a minute or so, it'll start to stutter and drop images. Same thing happens when I try to watch a ProRes 422 export to QuickTime files. If I plug my MBP 2014 Yosemite running, I have no problem at all. One would expect the iMac to best results... I guess I have something software causing problems. What could be the cause of anyone know?

  You are entitled to expect than the iMac spec high to be faster. You compare the same file in the machines? Are the files on an external drive? How much free space on the iMac and MBP startup disks.

• Cannot view or change the signals in the timeline

  I'm pretty new to FCPX. But I know that I did this particular thing last week. I want to disappear a song at the end of my film. But the waveform for the song is not useful or editable. It's a very narrow (green vertical stripe in my calendar. There is a barely recognisable dark grey line through the song in the timeline panel, but I can't find any way to extend this option to make the actual waveform visible so I can put handles on it, and do the fade. I can't find all the commands to make the visible waveform.

  I tried the thing helps in FCPX and I tried the Apple on FCPX book, and I searched the internet. On the net, there are a few references to the problems of that kind for several years, including a command-W command option, which does not, so it must be an old key combination.

  I haver restarted Final Cut, I restarted my computer. Nothing helps me. What is the scoop, people? Am I missing something really obvious? Thanks for your help.

  You need to Clip Hight taller.  In the lower right pane Timeline is a menu to do with.  See the section "clip timeline and hight Adjust appearance" here.

  You can also use the Option key with the up or down arrow to change the appearance of video via the keyboard.

  If you're too far zoomed out, you won't see many details (command with the - or = key to zoom in and out).
