Installation of 10g (10.2.0.1) on Linux86 OEM grid control
Hi friends,
I managed to install OEM grid in our RHEL 4.6 Server (1st time).
At the end of installation, I received this message:
I can do #1 and #3.See below for information pertaining to your Enterprise Manager installation: 1. Use the following URL to access the Enterprise Manager Grid Control: http://server01.ebiztech.biz:4889/em 2. The Enterprise Manager installation includes an Oracle Application Server instance, which is administered using a special "ias_admin" user account. The following information was defaulted for the embedded Application Server instance: Instance Name: EnterpriseManager0.server01.ebiztech.biz ias_admin password: This password is the same the SYSMAN account. 3. The connection details for the Enterprise Manager Repository are: Host: server01.ebiztech.biz Port: 1521 SID: emrep
How do you get #2? What is the URL to it? Or is it done through SQLPlus?
Thank you very much

How to use the OEM grid control to find databases, not in archivelog mode?
Hello
We have currently 130 databases, say, if I want to come off as any database currently NOT in archivelog mode, is there a quick way to find out?
using the OEM grid control
or
a similar trick,
but really do not need to manually check each database.
Thank you very much! This query works in 12 c - please run as SYSMAN.
It is based on undocumented assumptions well + (AND key_value = "NOARCHIVELOG") +.SELECT * FROM SYSMAN.MGMT$GROUP_DERIVED_MEMBERSHIPS O , SYSMAN.MGMT$TARGET T , sysman.MGMT$AVAILABILITY_CURRENT st WHERE o.member_target_type IN ('oracle_database', 'rac_database') AND ( t.target_type ='rac_database' OR (t.target_type ='oracle_database' AND t.type_qualifier3 != 'RACINST')) AND o. member_target_guid = t.target_guid AND t.target_guid = st.target_guid AND st.availability_status = 'Target Up' AND ( EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sysman.mgmt$metric_current i WHERE I.TARGET_GUID = O.MEMBER_TARGET_GUID AND metric_name = 'archFull' AND Metric_Column = 'archTotal' AND metric_label = 'Archive Area' AND column_label = 'Total Archive Area (KB)' AND key_value = 'NOARCHIVELOG' ));
Another way to achieve the goal is to push the extended parameters (SELECT LOG_MODE FROM V$ DATABASE) on each DB and monitor the values they return to the repository. This is an example for a (slightly) different problem - http://iiotzov.wordpress.com/2012/08/08/how-to-use-the-new-oem-12c-metric-extensions-to-enforce-enterprise-wide-custom-policies.
OEM repository has many other uses grand-http://iiotzov.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/oem-repository-a-second-look.doc, http://iiotzov.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/iotzov_oem_repository.pdf

I can't install OEM Grid control on the client computer?
Hello
I have two instances of database (11g). I would like to install Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control they manage. Can I install OEM Grid Control on the client machine, or just on the server, where are instances of database?
Thanks awfully for help.
ConcerningHello
You can install OEM Grid control on a separate server.
But remember that for OEM grid control, you need a database in the repository. This repository can be on the server used for the OMS (Oracle Management Service) or on a separate server:
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e15838/overview.htm#CJAHHFEA
In any case, it must be aware that Oracle, Oracle Management Service and the repository Agent must be able to communicate with each other and to use specific Ports.
So be sure that these Ports are open and free to use.
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e16847/firewalls.htm#i1005951
Hope this helps.

The 'a little' above stems from the page showing the two Linux 32-bit and 64-bit versions available, BUT the two links currently points to the 32-bit version. (The Canada West)Problem is resolved at the same time, the site shows the correct zip files:

How can you Clone or backup OEM Grid (server (WHO), agent and database management repository)? disaster?
They are all under my X11R6 folder. If I have a backup of my/home/oracle external tape or disk, then it
happened that my OEM server crashed and it cannot be fixed. Then, we buy another server with the same
Specs and OS. Then copy/download the backup. How can I start it? Like the original installation?
Thank you very much.
Ms. KHello
I don't think that you can clone the grid itself, but you can use it to clone ORACLE_HOMEs, databases, officers... etc.
Oracle Enterprise Manager search result: Clone
http://www.Oracle.com/pls/em102/search?word=clone&format=ranked&remark=quick_searchYou could log an SR to verify this with the support of the Oracle.
Thank you

Add the server as a target OEM grid control to monitor
Hi Experts,
I installed the grid control OEM 11.1.0.1.0 on server 'A', which has a database version Oracle 11.2.0.1.
The operating system on the server 'A' is 5.5 OEL. The grid control installed on this server works fine and I have deployed agents on remote hosts that I am able to monitor successfully using this grid control.
Now, I want to add the server ('A') on which the grid control is installed to be monitored by the grid control. Could someone let me know how to do this? I felt that it's the same way deploy us agents to remote hosts, but here, the agent is already installed at time of installation of control Grid.http://arpitagrawaloracle.blogspot.com/2012/05/manually-add-host-target-to-grid.html

Upgrading to 10g to 11g agent and switch to another grid control
I have sent a NEW Grid Control 11 g on a new server, but all my targets are enrolled in an OLD 10 g grid control.
Now, I would like to upgrade an agent 10 g saved with grid OLD command 10 g for an oracle target 10.2.0.5 dabase running 32-bit Windows),
using the pull (agentDownload.vbs) method.
It is supported to run agentDownload.vbs in upgrade mode by specifying the NEW grid control?
My environment:
OLD Grid Control 10.2.0.5 on Windows 2003 x 64
NEW 11.1.0.1 on Linux x 64 Grid control
Oracle 10.2.0.5 database TARGET. Standard running on Windows 2003 x 86
Thank you
JulianHi Julian,.
You cannot run this mentioned during the upgrade. But after upgrade, you can point a WHO to another agent using the following document:
How to point an Agent to a different grid WHO control and a repository? (Doc ID 413228.1)
NOTE: Please note that this procedure is valid only for the agents of 10 GB & 11g. This procedure is not valid in 12 c.
Best regards

10g Grid Control with database 11g
Hello
According to the name of the topic, it is possible to manage a database 11g with 10g grid control? The situation is that 10g grid is up and running and we have several new 11g databases, can they be added?
After that, when I try to install an agent from the web interface, I'm invited only with the Linux platform, however the 11g database is under Windows, how can this be resolved? (Enterprise Manager Grid Control works on linux)
Thank you very much for the input.Mika wrote:

Yes, it can. But better to use the Agent and the Group of OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.5 patch.
Learn more Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Certification Checker ID 412431.1*.After that, when I try to install an agent from the web interface, I'm invited only with the Linux platform, however the 11g database is under Windows, how can this be resolved?
Not sure I understand how you install the agent, could you clarify? It comes from the OEM Grid COntrol? Have you downloaded the Agent for Windows?

Hello
I use Oracle version 10.2.0.1.
I want to install the GRID CONTROL on the top of this facility. For this I install OMA (Oracle Management Agent) first.
My query is, can I straighaway install AMO on Oracle database version 10.2.0.1 10.2.03 version? Or do I need to patch first the version of oracle database 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3 base then only I can install version 10.2.0.3 on AMO.
Thanks in advance.

Version of the agent does not depend on the version of database. An agent can monitor all the Oracle database versions (depending on the version of the agent).
For the certification of the official follow-up of targets, see note MOS:
Auditor Certification Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control [ID 412431.1]
What is your version of SGD also?
OMA officer does not autonomous and you need to have an OEM grid control installed before you install the agent on a target server.
For OEM grid, please see:

Drivers for Dell OEM 7570 on Optiplex 745
So, I caught on the Bay, a video card OEM Dell 7570, which was a work of a XPS 8500 sweater, and I'll like to stick it in an optiplex 745 as an upgrade of a radeon 4650. Tried to install it and not go. I only get the basic windows vga (800 x 600 with 32-bit color) adapter function, when I want a 1080 p configuration (my optiplex 745 now works as a htpc), but at least I know that the card is not fried.
I also tried to install catalyst 13.1, but it does not work (I had uninstalled the prior installation of catalyst with the old drivers of HD 4000 series and also followed that upward with a wipe the previous drivers with driver sweeper befor trying variations of the catalyst)
Apparently this particular cards OEM cannot use the ordinary AMD drivers; and cannot use the drivers from Dell. I even tried to use the 8500 XPS drivers who were for this card (once again, with an uninstall of previous catalysts and a wipe of driver before you install the drivers for the 8500 XPS for dell OEM 7570), but that didn't work. I suspect that it is because my optiplex 745 OS is Windows Vista Business 32 bit and to Win 8 64 bit dell OEM drivers.
Any suggestions on how to proceed? Is there a Vista 32-bit driver for Dell OEM radeon graphic card 7570? Should I try to install 8 64-bit Windows and then try the OEM drivers? Or tried the drop in this map, a race of fools?
Reflections and suggestions would be appreciated.
