1328 Adobe Reader Setup error

Hello

Trying to update my installation of Adobe Reader on Windows XP

Adobe Reader X (10.1.4)

However, I get the following message...

"Error 1328: Error applying the fix to the C:\Config.msi\PT76.tmp file."  It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch.  For more information contact the vendor of your patch. »

Can someone please tell me how to work around this problem, or what may have caused it?

Who, or what, is my "patch vendor?

See you soon

Robyn

  • Update Windows XP Pro/Adobe Reader fail/error 1601

Problem started with the pop-up box 'Windows Installer' TrayApp.msi, ScannerCopy.msi, error 1601. Computer works fine, the printer works fine. Adobe Reader update installation failure. Worried about the security updates. Set to "automatic updates" everyday. Printer installation has been done since the HP Web site. Can you help me? English plain please. Not a developer.

    English plain please.

"Plain English", specifically including complete sentences, is also useful when you ask questions.  You must also specify the version of Windows you have, including the Service Pack (click right my computer and select Properties, if you do not know).

Whatever your printer works well has to do with the errors that you see?  If there is a problem with your printer, please include the brand (HP, I guess) and the model.

When this popup error happens (that is, which causes the error)?

Was the message itself, that you have received 'Windows install is not accessible.  Installation cannot continue because the Windows Installer is accessible.  Error 1601 "code?

If this is the error message you received, then:

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK).
In the black command prompt window, type the following lines and press ENTER after each line

    msiexec /unreg
    msiexec/regserver
    output

You shouldn't really have to restart the computer here, but do it anyway.

Do whatever it is that caused the error message.  Things work now?

If you want to install Adobe Reader, the current version is here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ don't forget to uncheck the box to install McAfee Security Scan Plus.  You can be happier, however, with the software free FoxIt Reader, an application that is much less inflated to read pdf files.

I can't view the Adobe Reader files. I have Windows XP home edition, Service Pack 3. The value of register AppData should solve the problem.

Before you start, try this command and note the value data for the registry AppData value. From a command prompt (CMD. EXE window), type:

  • Download Adobe Reader 10 error

When you try to download Adobe Reader 10 I get an error at the end of the download which uses Adobe Reader 8.3 some files that need to be changed and must be closed.  I have tried to remove 8.3 and don't see more in my program files, but still this message.  Any ideas on how to close something that's not here yet?

Since you mention "program files", I guess you're on Windows.

Download and run the http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html cleanup tool

Thanks for the screenshots.  There was actually a problem with downloading images yesterday.

You can try if the MSI installer works better: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi

  • Unable to open Adobe Reader - EULA error

I'm unablel to launch anything in Adobe I get an error message telling me I have to go into the drive and accept the EULA.  How can I do this?  I have re-installed the reader, but never asked to accept a EULA.

I guess that you are on a Mac, because this is where it occurs most often. Access your Mac HD/Applications folder and double-click the app drive it. Opens the license agreement, and then you can use the player itself or in a browser.

  • I'm trying to update to Adobe Reader 10 - error

I get a "certificate of authentication error" why is - this?

In fact, I found the solution.  It was simple and took minutes to solve!  I'm blushing Acrobat Reader of Adobe in the toilet by uninstalling, because I couldn't get the error message stop, and wouldn't install the free player darn.  I then downloaded FOXIT PDF reader and human that it installed without a problem and works like a charm!  I am so happy.  Thanks for trying.  I just wanted to be able to read the PDF files so I could get on my life, not spend hours flipping around with Adobe, trying to figure out why it will not install.  Keep up the good work Adobe and the price of your stock will collapse!

    Hi Mikhail % 20and % 20innr21426992,

As you mentioned that you have already tried to install the update, but she tells you that it is already up to date. I recommend you to uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015, see the steps on how to do it in the slot help document:

Errors 'Exit Code 6' and 'exit 7 "Code install Adobe CS6, CS5.5, CS5, Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements.

Once uninstalled, use the link below to download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 2015 manually:

I am trying to install on a 64-bit computer to Windows 7 with 16 GB of RAM and 361 GB of disk space.

I installed Photoshop CC (2015) before this question and Lightroom CC (2015) after this issue so it doesn't seem like a problem of firewall/internet on my end. I install InDesign as I type.

I looked around on Google but I was not able to find a solution that seems to do the trick. I tried to uninstall/reinstall and pretty much has the same error. Whenever reference is made to the folder Extras Cool and legal case. The scripts folder was mentioned on a few attempts but not others.

I looked at running the Adobe Creative Cloud Clean Up tool but only Photoshop, Lightroom and the creative cloud to appear under individual programs, Illustrator is not listed.

Any help or ideas would be really appreciated because I'm stumped as to what to do next. Thanks in advance for your help and your time.
