  • Adobe Reader 10.1.3 and error 1321

I'm currently deploy Adobe Reader MUI 10.1.3 and I see multiple machines fail the installation and error report 1321 (permissions issues). It is a problem because the installer deletes the previous version of the player and fails to install 10.1.3 that leaves the machine without player and results to the end user.  If I re - run the installation there is a good chance he'll get a different file with permission issues, in other words it is not always the same file, with what he gives an account of the permissions issues. Nevertheless, I manually confirmed permissions and owner on files and all parent folders are correct, but the installer will still report to the permission issues. I see this on Windows 7 x 64 SP1 and Windows XP SP3. The easiest way is to get the reader to successfully install by running the installation again and again to what (you have yet to make changes to the machine, just the shot until it installs successfully). With all this in mind, I suspect that the root cause of scanning in real-time to Mcafee, my guess is that it locks the file in its analysis and when the Adobe installer attempts to change the file, it fails because it is locked or in use by Mcafee. Usually, I would test this by disabling Mcafee, kickoff of the installer, but I am not able to do this for security reasons. I tried to run procmon to see exactly what access the files at that time, but whenever I start procmon that installation will randomly and I can't reproduce the problem if procmon is running. Anyone have any ideas on what I could do to help determine if it is in fact the origin of the problem of Mcafee? Or maybe another suggestion for what might be the cause?

Update: It's been two months since my original post, and it has finally been verified that my theory was correct. After access to Mcafee (v.8.8) scanning has been disabled I never experienced any of the problems above. For example, I had a test box who have experienced the problems I described in my original post and drive failed to install more than 450 times (Yes, this number is accurate); After access Mcafee scanning has been disabled, the installation succeeded.

  • Update Windows XP Pro/Adobe Reader fail/error 1601

Problem started with the pop-up box 'Windows Installer' TrayApp.msi, ScannerCopy.msi, error 1601. Computer works fine, the printer works fine. Adobe Reader update installation failure. Worried about the security updates. Set to "automatic updates" everyday. Printer installation has been done since the HP Web site. Can you help me? English plain please. Not a developer.

    English plain please.

"Plain English", specifically including complete sentences, is also useful when you ask questions.  You must also specify the version of Windows you have, including the Service Pack (click right my computer and select Properties, if you do not know).

Whatever your printer works well has to do with the errors that you see?  If there is a problem with your printer, please include the brand (HP, I guess) and the model.

When this popup error happens (that is, which causes the error)?

Was the message itself, that you have received 'Windows install is not accessible.  Installation cannot continue because the Windows Installer is accessible.  Error 1601 "code?

If this is the error message you received, then:

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK).
In the black command prompt window, type the following lines and press ENTER after each line

    msiexec /unreg
    msiexec/regserver
    output

You shouldn't really have to restart the computer here, but do it anyway.

Do whatever it is that caused the error message.  Things work now?

If you want to install Adobe Reader, the current version is here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ don't forget to uncheck the box to install McAfee Security Scan Plus.  You can be happier, however, with the software free FoxIt Reader, an application that is much less inflated to read pdf files.

  • Vista - problems installing of Adobe Reader 9.1, Silverlight and Service Pack 2

Last week, my computer froze with a black screen.  Person software Dell in India has accompanied me through the webcam and drivers and reinstall Vista.  Since then, I can't open .pdf files, watching movies from Netflix or download Vista service pack 2.  I tried all the things I could find in the forums here and elsewhere.  The last thing I tried to download was Adobe Reader 9.1 and I'm able to save to my desktop but when I double click the icon and try to install this is the error I get:

Error 2755. Server returned an unexpected error 1632
    Try to install the package
    C:\Users\Jano\AppData\Local\Adobe\Reader
    9.1\Setup Files\AcroRead.msi.

    weaver400,
I suggest a few things at this stage.  First of all, I would like to check the hard disk for errors.  This link will guide you in this process: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/bc1393cf-9f9c-79c7-0f91-9337c2c41f811033.mspx

Once that works I suggest creating a user profile, make sure that it is set to administrator level, then log in there and attempt to run the SFC from there.  Here are the instructions to create a new account:

    1.

Open accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking user accounts and family safety, and then clicking user accounts.

    2.

Click Manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3.

    Click create a new account.

    4.

Type the name that you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click create an account.

  • Reading the PDF with Adobe Reader: display size

    Hello

I have a PDFque documentation I read with Adobe Reader. It appears by default at 58% with the left column of the bookmarks that size it is good for. I wish that the body of the text (right-hand side) appears at 100% or full size. I display the speaker on en the page zoom 100%. If I sweep sequentially pages with the arrows I remains at 100%. However if I aux.1 another page I go to 58%. I would like to display constantly at 100% and if possible open it directly by default 100%

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro / Adobe Reader display glitch (jerky page display)

    Hi, I need help.

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.0.0 and Adobe Reader 11.0.07 for some time now, but never stopped updating because they have begun to develop strange problems.

Everytime I open all PDFs, the page is jerky or broken (I don't know how to describe it). The display of page breaks. The menu bar disappears. Also, the title bar disappears. When I press on F9 he returned but then it disappears. I can't do anything on this subject. If I read or scroll or minimize/maximize the problem still persists. I thought that maybe it's the 2D graphic acceleration and I tried turning power, but it has not solved the problem. The page simply breaks in the middle and the menu bar and title bar disappears immediately. It kind of changes back.

This problem has occurred for a long time and I spent my default to Foxit Reader pdf reader but I wish Adobe back. Everyone please help.

I run Windows 7, 32-bit Intel i3 and 4 GB of RAM, with a @ 2 GB RAM NVIDIA graphics card.

Probably, Yes.  Update to version 15.0.2.361 and the issue of the disappearance of the bars/menu toolbars should disappear.

  • Download Adobe Reader 10 error

When you try to download Adobe Reader 10 I get an error at the end of the download which uses Adobe Reader 8.3 some files that need to be changed and must be closed.  I have tried to remove 8.3 and don't see more in my program files, but still this message.  Any ideas on how to close something that's not here yet?

Since you mention "program files", I guess you're on Windows.

Download and run the http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html cleanup tool

    then try the installation again.

  • Is it necessary to have Adobe Reader on my computer and how to get it?

Usually, we are experiencing some difficulties during the download and view documents online. These documents are available in different formats, IRS, PDF and video files are a few examples. Sometimes we get a message "you must install specific software to display the required document. It's really a critical situation. However, we are grateful to Adobe who introduced a number of programs that can be of great help while dealing with these documents online.

Although many useful links are available on the Internet about these issues, however, even in this case some of our friends find it difficult to manage these tasks. Therefore, I started this discussion in order to provide useful information on how to open and view these documents. In this discussion, I will try to find the solution to the common problems faced by most of the users. I'll try to get updates from different sources and to share information received with the participants so that everyone can benefit from the knowledge of others. Main features of the different Adobe products will also discuss to make my readers familiar with various Adobe products.

I also ask my readers to share their insights on the topic.

    Thank you
