16 or 32 bit C 'time' runtime library output differs

Hello developers,

I have a legacy 16-bit application written in C that displays the time system in UTC format (time Unix).

Here is the code snippet:

time_t  t ;
printf("%ld\n", time(&t)) ;

There is a difference between the time displayed in seconds on 16-bit and 32-bit application created with 16-bit and 32-bit Microsoft CL compiler for the above code.

Can someone explain why the difference occurs?

For example, here is the example is run at the same time,
32 bit: 1404391074
16 bit: 1404436063

Thank you
Vishnu

I started having problems a couple of weeks with my Microsoft Security Essentials. The program will start and say it could prove to be not on the real-time protection. This operation returned because the timeout period expired. When I click ok, I followed the instructions. Start services.msc, in search box type, then choose Microsoft Antimalware Service and make sure it is in automatic mode, then start the service. Sometimes it is and sometimes it still wouldn't start. Now, for a few days, when I'm trying to start windows, I get the following message: Microsoft Visual C ++ runtime library: this application has requested the execution in an unusual way. • Error message of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library without program listed as the source of the error.

I have a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error message, but no program is listed as the source of the error... the only entry is "program: C:\...» ».   I am running XP Service Pack 3 on a HP Mini.  HP support center suggests that a driver is not loaded, or is corrupt and suggests also that I have to reinstall the program.  It is impossible, however, if the program in question cannot be determined.  Any advice?

What is your system brand and model (mini HP something)?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

When is it and what you do when you see this message?

You see it every time the system starts or when you try to start a program?

There may be some clues in the event where log Viewer, but has first:

Microsoft offers several different versions of the Microsoft Visual C++ distributables.

For their need for some of your applications or make install does not mean that you will make any C++ programming, but some applications need some of the runtime components and libraries installed with just distribution C++ files (it is not the whole development package).

It is also possible to have multiple versions of the distributables C++ installed on your system - I installed 7, but you do not have to many.  Different programs that you install may require different sets of files to work.

Take a look in Add/Remove programs and see what, if any, versions of Microsoft C++ Redistributables you have installed right now.

The latest version is the version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010, so if you don't have that, I would start by download and install from here:

http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=8328 (this is the 32-bit version)

If you see already that you have version 2010 installed in Add/Remove Programs, just uninstall it, reboot and reinstall it from the download, then view the side of things.

Always restart after installing new software because that will eliminate the stupid question "did you restart your system" could happen later...

The problem is due to a bug in the ATI drivers - there are several threads about this on the website of AMD. The thread I've read has been closed by a moderator with the statement "it will be fixed soon. I use the 10,11 drivers on a 4870 and I have the problem too.

10,12 drivers are available but that thread seems to indicate that the problem was always present in people. The message from the moderator was published on 12/19/2010 so I hope that the next version of driver will fix it.

    Hello

First, you must uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ and the anti-virus program and delete completely all files.

After that you can reinstall the two, but Microsoft Visual C++ first.

Depending on the version, you must:

    Hi patsyyanez,

    ·         You did changes to the computer before the show?

These errors can be caused mainly by two factors:

    ·         The Visual C++ library runtime components are missing.

    ·         Software problem.

3A contacted support HR block that have been blocked and

suggested that I have contacted Microsoft.

4 program installed on another computer - it worked.

so I followed the file msvcr90.dll. Looks very good.

5 uinstalled and reinstalled program 3 times. Always get the error message

This only happens when I try to run this program. I have many others

significant programs and I'm not the freedom to run the system recovery.

I'm looking for a patch will install/correct the library dll for XP, SP3

without having to replace the entire operating system

    Thank you

It's really about HR Block, despite the fact that tech support is countered.  Perhaps could you call back and ask that the question be raised.

What do you mean by you "ran Library Runtime reinstall?  Where did you got the runtime library to reinstall?

I have 9 different instances of msvcr90.dll on my XP Pro system, each installed by a different application.  The interesting thing is that they are not all identical.  Most are version 9.0.21022.8, but I have also 2 instances of version 9.0.30729.1.

Applications using Visual C++ are supposed to include the library runtime with their distributable package. Usually, the runtime library is installed in a subdirectory of the application directory in C:\Program Files.  For example, C:\Program Files\TurboTax\Deluxe 2010\32bit\msvcr90.dll I

However, if another application that you have placed a different version of the msvcr90 in one of the system directories, for example, C:\Windows\system32, it is possible the executable HRBlock tries to use the wrong file.

I do a search on your hard drive to msvcr90.dll and see if there is an instance in one directory other than the one clearly associated with an application.

  • Error Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, opening of PDF files

I'm on Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.  I have a problem trying to open PDF files on my drive hard or via IE.  I get the error message says:

    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime error!
    Program: C:\Program 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe Adobe

This application has requested the execution to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact support team of the application for more information. »

I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader 9.2 on the internet several times, but I still get the error.  The PDF file opens, then this error and I have to click OK making it necessary to close the PDF file.

    Help!

    Hello

This is known problem with Acrobat for several versions now, current fix from Adobe is just to update their software: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404597.html

The problem is with the data of application given erroneous instructions.
"The affected user has a folder Application Data redirected and so the path to the network that contains the Application data uses a UNC path that begins with \. "This UNC path causes Acrobat 9.0 and Adobe Reader 9.0 incorrectly analyzes the Application data path and give the error message.
A possible Solution would be to go into the registry. Left click type 'regedit' and right-click and run the program with "run as Administrator". Go to Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders and make sure see where pointing "AppData". If it is oriented towards 'data %UserProfile%/Application' change it to point to '% UserProfile%/AppData/Roaming '.

    Hi Kohler2011

    Step 1:

You can try to install the Visual C++ run-time components and check if this helps you-

    Step 2:

If the problem persists I suggest you to contact the manufacturer support for assistance on the question and check-

    I hope this helps.

  • Nobody seems to have a fix for 'Visual C++ runtime library error'

I searched this forum and others on how to solve this problem. Many of them are old and are intended for a different platform than what I use, Windows Vista. Others are in a situation very much like mine, but their questions or have not met does not help. I am hoping there is someone out there who really knows how to solve this problem.

I tried to open files in PhotoShop (which I did thousands of times before and at least a few times already in this particular session without problems) when an error pops up saying something like "Runtime error...windows/rundll.exe." I don't know exactly what he says because before I can even click OK a new error appears saying:

    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Windows\Explorer.exe

    abnormal termination of the program.

When I clicked OK on that error, Windows Explorer restarts and the same mistakes appear as before, several times. If I do not click OK on the second, I can use my computer normally, but there is always a tab in the toolbar for this error. I rebooted the computer and the same mistakes came as soon as I logged. I ran various spyware detectors and Windows Defender, etc. and they found an 'object' which I removed and I still get these errors. It seems that the problem isn't with PhotoShop, but Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer), and even if many "bugs" say to delete and reinstall different programs, I don't know if this is possible with Windows Explorer.

I would be sincerely grateful someone who is willing to help me with this problem.

You have a blockage (explore is waiting for something or going in circles) was no accident. Crashes do not have a lot of diagnostic information.

    This could give a clue.

    Hang the Diagnostics

It is a long shot for useful information - it is useful to the programmer, but worth a try for mortals in case it is something obvious.

Download http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/what_is_hang.html and extract the files.

Make a right click WhatIsHang.exe - Properties - unblock (repetition to help file - WhatIsHang.chm). Start the program by right-clicking and choosing run as administrator.

When IE crashes go to WhatIsHang and select IE and press F9.

Then Edit menu - copy entire report. Paste into Notepad. Put on skydrive.

Download the file to your Public SkyDrive folder and copy the link in the address bar, and I'm going to do an analysis.

SkyDrive is the download file from Microsoft, Windows Live, at https://skydrive.live.com/site.  Read about it at http://explore.live.com/skydrive.

If you downloaded one of the Live applications or a web site based Live mail account, you already have access to your Skydrive.

Put your list of events in the Public folder and copy the link in the address bar.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type (or copy and paste by clicking in the command prompt window and choose Paste).

Then configure the command prompt. Right-click on the tab of the titlebar - Properties - Layout command prompt - and enter 1000 screen buffer size height and 43 (or 50) to Window Dimensions height. Change the color (color tab) and the police (police tab), if you want.

It comes to tell me the name of the mpeg file.

    dir '% userprofile%\desktop\*.mp* '.

If you are comfortable editing the threshold, try to remove it. I want to see the generated error. Just put the real filename by replacing the text in bold.

    del "%userprofile%\desktop\file name.mpeg.

Have you tried to use system restore to restore your system configuration?

Start menu > Accessories > system tools > system restore.

I hope you have some system restore points before the problem started happening. Follow the wizard for your anti-roll system back to one of these restore points.

System restore only modifies / restores the system configuration - this will not affect your personal files/data.

So if the problem started to arrive 2-3 days ago, come back to a point of restoration 4 days ago.
