  Please follow the instructions in this article to support to reset the launch Services database. Instead of typing the shell command in the article, I suggest that you copy and paste the web page in the Terminal window. Make sure you only select the entire line.   I installed a new SSD in my iMac 2007 and loaded a new download of El Capitan for a nice clean install.  I figured, I'd have access to my old default Apple apps (iMovie, etc.).  However, I realize now with a new installation, the fact that I had pre-installed apps.  I can buy them, but since they were previously on my old HD, I'm not interested in doing this.  I specifically did not have a full time machine backup before swapping because of my assumptions.  I have the data via old TM and I'm sure that applications should be there.

  Are these apps that had been purchased through the App Store?  If so log in the App Store with the same Apple ID you used previously and look in the section purchased.

• Photos App w El Capitan

  El Capitan installed a few months ago. Have the 10.11.5 version.

  MacBook Pro (13 ', mid-2010), 2.66 GHz, 4 GB memory, 500GB HD.

  I managed to get the photos and albums from the previous version and created a new album and uploaded a few photos. Had trouble a few times, but got a little loaded. Now it will not download pictures. I rebooted and no again, no luck. I can see the pictures and you can see my iPhone (to download), but when I click to download, nothing happens. Try to close the application, but can't. Get a dialog box saying «Closure of the library...» »

  Any suggestions?

  There may be a problem with your photo library. Maybe it needs repair.

  Test, if cam you are importing. Photos from your iPhone to a new library of Photos.  You can create a new library, if you launch Photos while holding down the button options all with pictures.  Select this option to create the new library in library selector Panel and try to import. It work?

  I have your photo library in your pictures folder, or on an external drive?  Do you have enough free storage to import more photos?

  AirDrop does not appear in the finder. It does not appear in the applications. I still can't use, BUT ONLY OF MY iPhone. If I want to transfer anything to my MBA, I first have to transfer it to MY phone. No one else shows iPhone sees my MBAir to send it, even though their parachuting is set to "everyone".  I can't find my request for release anywhere - but my iPhone will see my MBAir he send things.

  I read all the articles on Airdrop

  I assured that other devices are configured to send to everyone

  I'm crazy some bluetooth and wifi are on

  I restarted my MBAir both the other device

  Any thoughts?

  Have you tried to restart the Mac after you download El Capitan? Try to open the app install El Capitan after restarting your Mac. If the application does not always open, your download for El Capitan may have been corrupted, and you may need to remove the app install El Capitan and it download it again from the App Store. • Photoshop CS6 crashes on launch, the 'sweep of the presets' after the "Topaz" plugin loading / Mac El Capitan

  In my view, there was a question yesterday about Photoshop CS6 hanging on scanning presets.

  I've recently upgraded to El Capitan 10.6.8 and Photoshop CS6 open. I installed a new 2 TB drive, installed El Capitan and done a migration assistant to move my apps on El Capitan.

  Photoshop has opened after that, by some of my plugins did not exist.

  I had to spend my "Topaz" filters, so I downloaded the 7 of them that I have and install.

  I went to use a Topaz Remask Plugin and had a mistake. The website of "Topaz" says that I need to change the property of/usr/lib. So I changed my id property and did a chmod 775 on the directory.

  After I did, Photoshop started hanging on the "presets" analysis  I made the recommendation of discussion yesterday and got to the Show Package Contents for CS6.

  CS6 ran here. This opens a terminal window and about went off of the CS6.

  Now I have a dialog box stating «Skip optional loading and plugins» third  Adobe Photoshop CS6 screen says "Looking for preferences.

  I can't click 'Yes' on the Skip loading dialog box. the Mac made some King of noise when I try and click Yes or when I try and move the start CS6 screen.

  The Terminal window shows this:

  OK, I can get in PSCS6 now after the re - install.  All preferences and stuff that I had Setup will have to be worked through. But at least I can get open. -Thank you

  I just upgraded my iMac to El Capitan - everything worked fine except my iPhotos. I can't see a picture. I was about 2 OSX versions behind, but he said that the upgrade should be fine. I used iPhoto 9.4.3 according to my iPhoto Library manager and I have a number of iPhoto libraries in my pictures folder. I did not use iCloud for storing them.

  If I understand your message that after you have upgraded your iMac to El Capitan, your photos from iPhoto did not import the Photos app. I know the importance of your pictures are for you. The following article contains information on the iPhoto migration several libraries of Photos:

  To manually migrate another photo library:

  1. Photos of quit smoking.
  2. Hold down the Option key and open pictures.
  3. Select the library you want to open, and then click on choose a library. If the library you want is not listed, click on another library. Go to the library you want, and then click Open.

  You can also drag the library you want to open to Photos icon in the Dock. Or you can click on create new to create a new empty library.
