240 Z: Z 240 video

Setting up my new workstation Z240, but not any video on my monitor.   The z240 seems to have only display port video connectors, and my monitor has only VGA and HDMI.    I connected using a display adapter and hdmi cable HDMI port.  Right out of the box, the z240 seems to start normally, but the monitor acts like it is not connected.

Is it necessary to connect differently, with another adapter, or some other monitor, for example, to access the video configuration to reconfigure my DP > hdmi adapter and monitor?

Add: Apparently some monitors are plug & play with Windows 7 and some are not.  I've also seen a featuring play & play and for a cable with a DP - DP cable.   Do I need a new monitor with these features to get started?

Dan, welcome to the forum.

I just had a live chat with a technician from StarTech.  He says that the following cable must be exactly what you need: 1.2 DP, something like our, DP2HDMM2MB .  They make very good quality products.

I have a HP Pavilion 500-339. AMD A10, processor 3.5 GHz quad-core with 8 GB of RAM, running windows 8.1, 64-bit. It came with a Radeon R7 240 video card. I know that physical space is limited inside the computer case, but what could I upgrade to that would fit? While not the biggest PC-gamer out there, I do not play a bit and I would like the best features. Thank you!

    Hello

Without replacing the power supply, the NVIDIA GTX 750 TI would be an excellent choice. Choose a model that does not require a 6-pin auxiliary power connector.  Open your Pc and do some measures so that you know for sure that the GTX model 750 will be fit. Most should adapt to certain expectations.  Know what the return policy is before you buy.

I have an older video card that supports dual monitor output, should I try it?

Someone at - it already update the video card in their 700-339 and can make recommendations on what works? If I receive information on the card and power supply, if it was upgragded so?

    SGPatterson, welcome to the forum.

Here is a video card that works in your computer.  It requires only a power supply (PSU) with 300W.  It does not require an additional power connector.  There is a video for you to look directly below the map on the page.

You can try your old video card if it will work with your power supply.  It should not cause problems if it works with the UEFI Firmware in the motherboard.

I ran the two thru smc for the "rocket" and they work fine... now I'm playing around with possibly combine the files and also to try a slightly different size of video

You can combine the VOB's (starting a DVD) with VOBMerge. Do this before any conversion.

    Hello

    > Is the processor good on this machine, I mean like a Core 2 Duo

The CPU is not better than Core 2 Due because he s successor to core Duo.
Intel Core Duo processor T2400 1.83 GHz Yonah works on this laptop.
You can check the detailed specifications of this CPU Intel page.

In addition the unit supports audio chip type high-definition Intel Conexant CX20551-22.
I put t know what you mean by HD video.
Do you mean the HD player? The portable player is a simple DVD Super Multi drive (+/-R Double Layer) and it does not play any DVD HD

  • Upgrade XPS 8100 GPU for video editing? (of GTS 240-> GT 630 Kepler)

    I have older XPS 8100 with power supply 350 W, PCIe v2.

It comes with Nvidia GTS 240

    • Hearts CUDA 112
    • 1 GB 128- bit memory DDR3 memory

Is it wise to update to GT 630 Kepler who has more CUDA cores and memory bigger BUT less bandwidth! Note There are several flavors of the GT 630 map. The Kepler there CUDA more but less bandwidth. It also uses an architecture of nm 28 (?) so it consumes less energy...

    • 384 CUDA cores
    • 2 GB memory 64- bit memory DDR3

I'm just trying to give my older office a little boost so I can keep it a little longer. Just to get into video editing (videos of simple talking heads HD of Canon DSLR mainly for the YouTube/web but can experiment a bit with After Effect too)

    Other improvements, I foresee:

    • Replace the main (and only) with a SSD for the OS
    • Add controller SATA III Housing Board (motherboard currently supports only SATA II)
    • Add 1 or 2 7200 TPM (WD Caviar Black or Seagate Barracuda SATA III), although thought rather than the RAID 0 for speed I was going to do separate so I can use different drives for data, source on one and previews, cache files, etc. on the other hand
    • Add 3 USB so that I can also external platforms if needed is, like maybe keep my second internal drive and the third disk external but connected via eSATA III or USB 3

Given the hassle and expenses, I have no intend to upgrade the i5 processor (1st generation I think) or the power supply. Is the system otherwise "balanced" for what I'll use to?

The 630 GT would be a downgrade from the GTS 240.  I would look at the GTX 650 for an upgrade.  A GT 640 would also be an upgrade at the best prices.

    Hello

This could be due to installed the wrong display drivers or a bad resolution that has been put in.

Method 1: change the resolution of your screen
    1. open the screen resolution by clicking on the Start button, Control Panel, and then, under appearance and personalization, click on adjust the screen resolution.
    2. click the menu drop down next to the resolution, move the slider to the desired resolution, then click on apply.
    3. click on keep to use the new resolution, or click back to return to the previous resolution.

  • Periodic blue screens: 0x0000007F

Original title: "my vista computer continues to go to BSOD from time to time for any reason, please help!"

OK, so first off I just installed a new EVGA Nvidia GT 240 Video card in my computer, an upgrade to a MSI nvidia 8400, that's when the problems started. Often my computer will go randomly to a blue screen, physical memory dump then reboot without warning. Not in the middle of all the programs/games/etc. usually if the computer is still for too long, or sometimes on google chrome (my internet explore I use) in the reliability and performance monitor it comes up with the code:
    OS stopped work, (Version :) 6.0.6002 service Pack 2, details of failure: 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0x803d3130, 0 x 00000000, 0 x 00000000)

I cleaned my registry several times, I've removed the old drivers and reinstall the latest version, but it still crashes. I'm curious to know if it would have something to do with my diet? The card requires 300 watts or more great offer with min. 18 amps on 12V + rail and my power supply has a maximum capacity of 300 watts. If it helps, here are some features:

OS: Windows vista home premium service pack 2, 32-bit

    RAM: 3.5 GB DDR2

    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X 2 dual core processor 3800 + 2 GHZ

Video card: Nvidia GT 240 with 1 GB of DDR5 memory ram

If you need more care, please tell me, I have the latest video driver from nvidia site

You said the details of an error caused by a kernel trap checking double fault.  You happen to have ZoneAlarm installed on your system (more specifically, a file named vsdatant.sys)? "This seems to be a popular product that is involved in similar situations (1), (2)).  If you have installed a ZA, uninstall and audit behavior or disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP (NBT).  Then check the behavior. You can find details about disabling NBT here.

, Start here: may you download the c:\windows\minidump content to SkyDrive and provide a link?

Consider the following general guidelines for dealing with bluescreens (start by ZA as described above, however, if this applies to you):

Consider running chkdsk on all partitions.  Leave complete chkdsk on each partition and see if that helps.

    Also consider running SFC/scannow.

If you start in safe mode, do you still feel bugs? What if you do a clean boot, or boot device?

Consider the memory with memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic test. Note that memory that pass the tests isn't necessarily good memory - he not only failed a review.  Examine systematically to eliminate the system RAM - run with a few modules for awhile and see how things are going. Then try the other modules.

Other common suggestions include ensuring drivers are up to date, but also to ensure that you use the latest version of the BIOS.

It may be useful to use the driver verifier.  To activate the... Driver Verifier start-> verifier.exe-> OK-> create standard settings-> next-> driver select the names to a list-> next-> sort by provider-> select all other Microsoft drivers-> finish and OK your way out of the dialog box.

Then restart and use the system as you normally and wait for a problem.  In case the system does not completely start after activation of the Verifier, boot mode safe and run driver verifier and tell him to remove the changes.

Wait for a bugcheck occurs after you have enabled the auditor as described, and then download the dump on your SkyDrive and provide a link.

  • Calculation of rule DSP for voice routers

Hi all, I know that Cisco has a DSP calculator, however, there are some values that he asks that I'm not sure of when you try to use it.

Someone at - it a fundamental rule that they use when they decide how much DSP to add a router to voice FMC?

I have a Cisco 2911 with 1 VIC2-4FXO, 1 port VIC3-2FXS/DID and currently I have a PVDM3 DSP DIMM 1 with 16 channels. I would add a VIC2-2FXO card for additional analog lines. I read that you need at least to have the same number or channels that you have FXS/FXO ports. If this is the case, then I am currently using only 6 of the 16 channels.

Here is the command of DSP Group:

    DSP groups on slot 0:
    DSP 1:
    State: UP, firmware: 32.1.2
    Signal/voice of max channel: 16/16
Max credits: 240, voice credits: 240, video credits: 0

    Transcoding allocated channels: 1
    Group: FLEX_GROUP_VOICE, complexity: FLEX
Credit splitting: 100, reserved credits: 0
Signs of the allocated channels: 6
Voice of the allocated channels: 0

    Group: FLEX_GROUP_XCODE, complexity: MEDIUM
Credit splitting: 0, reserved credits: 20
    Transcoding allocated channels: 0

    Sessions by dsp: 4
    Slot: 0
    Idx device: 0
    PVDM slots: 0
    Type DSP: SP2600

    Thank you

    Dan

Yes, the most basic math are need at least the same number of channels on your DSP (s) that you would have TDM0 channels, which means that you will only use G.711, because the number of channels, G.711. This just for the termination of the TDM.

With what you have, if you decide to use G.729A/G.722, it would come down to 12 channels, with G.729/iLBC drops to 10, and you get only 3 channels, if you use the ICCS.

  • Images and texts of pixelation.

    Hello

I'm doing an infograhics for a mobile application using after effect cs4. Although I am ading texts / images they are pixelated. How would it be perfect? Any change of preference?

Screenshot of do not display the composition settings or we give information about your chart, or sceneline. It's extremely pixelated so just guessing here, but I think you are looking at your composition in a report of more than 100% magnification.

This example is very good, it seems just pixelated because of the magnification ratio...

Generally speaking, the size of your composition should be at least the size of you final project delivered. A 320 X 240 video is tiny, about half of your screenshot. My standard for all projects is full HD 1920 X 1080 to a minimum. About 1/3 of my projects are twice as bigger. You can always easily return a smaller version, but it is never a good idea to just make a bigger.

The graphics that you add to a project must be at least the size that you want in the finished composition seen as a 2d scale 100% layer. The graph of the phone in your screenshot should be of at least 1/4 the size of your publication.
