    According to my research, this error message appears if you have traces of a previous installation of the AVG software.

    Download the AVG remover to remove the previous version and then try the installation again and check.

    OK, I tried repeatedly for days to install the AVG security on my system, and I'm having zero success install.  the error it gives me says that the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.  It may occur if in safe mode of Windows or if Windows install is not installed correctly.  Well, I did everything that was suggested including the download and the correction of the Windows Installer.  Nothing works.  Anyone have any suggestions for me?
