I'm an IT professional working on HP Envy 15 t-3200 computer laptop a client PC (Win 7 x 64, Intel i7, AMD 7700 series)

He said (he thinks) after installing a recent update of windows, he started blue screening on him with a graphical error.

He gave his PC to installed at the factory, and it was working fine until it has installed the windows updates and graphics drivers even once, receiving the same graphic error blue screen.

I took his laptop computer. I installed a wake of windows 7 that I created. Everything worked very well - as soon as I installed the graphics drivers.

First of all, I had installed the drivers AMD (for AMD, not of HP). I thought that it worked fine, until I checked the Device Manager and saw that the AMD graphics card have been disabled, and the laptop has been returning to the generic graphics driver. I also tried the older driver available on the support page of HPs.

I uninstalled the AMD graphics card and installed the Intel graphics card. As soon as they were installed, after reboot I got the same original blue screen error and would lead to startup in safe mode and system restore.

When I install the AMD graphics card without having to install the Intel graphics card, it is itself generic graphics. The AMD graphics card displays a Code 43 in the Device Manager, indicating that the unit has stopped working because it has reported problems.

I played a bit with different versions of the AMD graphics card that has not solved the problem, and I installed different versions of the Intel graphics card, which has always caused a blue screen.

The PC works ONLY with generic graphics drivers, who does not work for what my client wants to be able to (play).

I checked the temperature of the laptop and nothing is nowhere close to overheating.

I don't know what else to try. My client says he'll live with it and all simply not use it for a game more, but it's not good enough for me - I have proposed to continue to find a solution for him for free.

Any help would be much appreciated, it's extremely embarrassing

Reformatting the hard drive and installing the new OS may or may not help.

I would consider rolling back to a System Restore checkpoint where the question all started, test it and if it does turn off Windows updates on the laptop.

Unfortunately, this laptop model needs to be replaced the system board. I wish I had better news for you on that, but I did not.

    No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

    You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
    Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
    Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

    Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

    Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
    on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

    A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
    ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
    on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
    repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

    Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
    That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
    Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a
    Google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these cover a wide
    field efforts.

    You have a Vista disk? You can try restoring the system to it. If you don't have the disks your
    system manufacturer will sell them at low prices. Or try in safe mode if you can get there.

    Run Windows Update - it may install drivers that does not get installed on Windows 7 home.

    If this does not help, look for Windows 7 drivers for this device on the Sony web site.

    Sorry for fast hiking, misspellings, it's late and I do not use my normal computer to this problem I have.

    I am currently sympthym to start the black screen with a white cursor (furniture, put in construction in the middle) with my laptop Dell Studio 15 (model 1537) that running Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP2.  He started tonight after repeatively, I tried to restore to a date prior to the System Restore tool.  I wanted to get back to Monday due to some software installations.  However, each attempt to restore failed and then after the 3rd or 4th attempt, when I tried to restart, I was faced with a window very long stop, and I was impacient and pressed and held the power button to stop it.  Subsequent starts, I've known this problem with no solution having been found for the moment.

    I tried several things at first, such that I tried Ctrl-alt-del, control-shift-esc, blindly connect with my fingerprint.  I tried windows key combos, but no luck.  Still stuck with screen black mouse cursor

    I have my vista ultimate 64 bit installation disc, and I started with the dvd and tried to fix it.  Automatic repair tool says he finds a problem with my start and had a difficulty to which I applied and rebooted.  But it did not work.

    Then, I tried to boot from the dvd again and did the repair option again, this time, Autostart reparir tool see nothing wrong with my start and I tried a system restore, but alas, it failed after having worked for a bit.  Telling something about restoration being corrupted.  I tried command prompt (X:\Source) and make chkdsk c: /p (which btw, implies / f as well) and it found some errors and repaired them or what not was wrong to write to newspapers, even if and then after long waiting, returns to the c: prompt.  No effect.

    On subsquent dvd boots, I tried the option to command line renaming a "Logs" directory and create a directory "Logs" empty (which was mentioned in some research online and even in a few posts here), but that has not solved the problem for me either.

    Dvd later boots, I have tried regedit solution method, where you will load a SYSTEM key and set some sort of AUTHORITY NT set... but when I checked key, she was already the correct setting.

    Then I learned that I could press the "Shift" key repeatedly while mode cursor screen black/white/and try the propmpt for keys pop-up to sticky.  But he said no 'link' as many instructions in this message box.  When I click 'Yes' to sticky keys, nothing is displayed and the pop-up closes.  Ditto for the 'no '.  There is no mention of accessibility settings.

    I tried all modes of security, but just a white cursor plu experience.  I have tried to use "last known configuration', 'debug mode', 'start logging mode', mode"disable driver signing"and again, the same thing, the cursor of the black and white screen.  I'm really at my wit's end, and I don't want REALLY to re - install everything (operating system, programs, settings, etc.) ... I did not back upward, and I use this machine without problem for more than a year.

    I remember once XP has a "repair install" mode which was really obvious to end users, since it looked almost identical to a clean install.  I have also heard (but can't really confirm) Vista has no such a fashion, that, by clicking on install, he repaired to the simular OS to XP disks how would repair their facilities.  I can't risk my data/programs/settings for accidental clean installation.  Help, please!

    If I understand correctly, you want to disable the fast user switching option. Could you please answer a few questions before moving?

    Since when are you facing the issue? Do you have any security program installed on the computer? How many accounts is configured on the computer? Have you done a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

    Here is an article that will help you to turn off the fast user switching option. Alternatively, you can uninstall Office to smile and check if it helps. You can also make the screen saver password that is built into Windows. Follow these steps:

    (a) open screensaver settings by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type screen saver, and then uncheck the box for password game screen.

    Boot the computer normally and log.

    Black screen, hold down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

    Select Task Manager.

    At the bottom left, select details (if it is not already selected).

    Click in the header of column Nsoul to organize the processes in alphabetical order.

    Look for an entry called to run once Wrapper (RunOnce.exe) - If you see it listed, right-click on it and select end task.

    If this is the case, download Autoruns on the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    When you have that, open your download folder, right-click on the folder zipped to Autoruns, select "extract all...". "and in the next window, click Extract.

    A new window will open displaying the extracted content.  The application you must launch is the 2nd in the list (in format autoruns 636ko) but this by right clicking on it and selecting 'Run as administrator' -click 'Yes' to the uac prompt.

    Scroll down the list until you find the entrance to RunOnce (it may well be 2 entries) and Remove the tick (s) in the box next to it.

    Restart computer and see if it boots now on the desktop.

Somehow, I think that the Bar Menu of Firefox with button Firefox Orange and other toolbars could be part of the problem. If I click on the Navigation toolbar and click on the Favorites button that I added to the bar, he will fall down and show me bookmark pages (maybe 15) who are not sorted as my lack. I want to add that I get the same results when I use the touch of Orange Firefox toolbar as opposed to the Menu bar original. I performed all the tasks mentioned in the conversation to question #981577, and for the most part, I repeated the procedure three times each with additional Firefox and put off my pc between the two for good measure. I also used Windows system restore twice with no results, but also try to "downgrade" my version of Firefox at 24 and 27 (which I know is not a recommended step and the first attempt resulted in the download of Firefox 28, which I was already running, and the second time, nothing restored or appeared as if by magic so I did an uninstall and did a clean install of Firefox 28 since the download link on the Mozilla site. There is no indication that the other user support had him issue/ticket answered and resolved. Communication support spans 12/26-12/27/13. I wished that the preceding conversation took place recently, it may indicate a problem with FF28, but I don't know if it was released in December.     Thanks to everyone who took a peek at my problems with library files, history, bookmarks, downloads and passwords lost or missing after Firefox 28 updated (the automated), especially Michael. Jacky, your suggestion was among the first, I tried more than four days ago, but I re - try each day and twice today (this morning, and after I posted my problem of support here). Unfortunately, whenever I tried it, I need to click on start, and I almost always see the screen flash slightly, then at the top of the window where it says 'Library', I would say something like "the program is not responding" and then... nothing, and nothing on 'My Computer', showed changes. I also used inventory management and maintenance to ensure that the files were in my profile folder, etc. and I kept getting a clean management of sites with depth control and I double checked tables in maintenance of places - both of these programs as well as restoration was recommended in the previous responses to requests for information similar to mine. In addition to restoring my computer, I did a 'Reset' on Firefox that created a new profile name which is used where my FF files are stored. I think that this may have contributed to my eventual success.

    Finally, I tried the thing to save the files in another folder, then change the name of the 'SQL places?' I forgot the second part of the name of the file (I blame my brain tumor for my short term memory problems - really) I think it's the name, so I changed the name. I then clicked on file, then exit and it closed Fire Fox. I was very reluctant to use this method to solve my problems, but after about 4-5 attempts using this, my favorites showed up - not only those who register in the drop-down list and would only save to Favorites sorted in the library, he finally showed not to exactly as it did before the problems.     Restart your computer. During the startup, at the beginning, press the F2 key to enter the BIOS Setup. In the configuration, press F10 to restore all the default BIOS settings. Save the changes and exit.

     Try to uninstall and reinstall the driver DVD in Device Manager.

    a. type devmgmt.msc in the search box start and press ENTER.

    d. click on uninstall.

    e. restart the computer.
