  • With the help of 3560 8 port PoE to 1252 dual AP radio for b\g customers

    Hello

We have a couple of 3560 8-port switches PoE that we plan to use to put 1252 APs (not yet commissioned). Now given that 3560 switch supports one radio, is possible to order that a pre installed dual radio AP 1252, disable the 5 Ghz one and enable 2,4 Ghz, so b/g clients can access the network until a switch PoE + is purchased?

    Any help is appreciated

    Thank you

Fix.  According to the standard rates of G/A require only a tx/rx, there is no degradation in service.

  • Connection 2602 to Port PoE-Out of an outdoor AP from 1552 AP

Documentation, I see that it should be possible to connect end devices like for example cameras to the Port PoE Out of an AP from 1552.

Is it also possible to connect another TURN to the port?

In the scenario that precedes the AP 1552 cannot reach the controller. The AP is simply connected in the same VLAN as the WLC via accessport.

When I SSH into the 1552 I see gig1 Port is in place and I receive the 2602 CDP information, unfortunately it seems that the 2602 does not get an IP address via DHCP, or able to communicate trought the 1552 to the network.

How can I fill or assign a vlan to gig1?

I don't think that that is supported to be honest.  Some have a PoE switch inline for a connected AP.  A test you can do that is simple is to connect a laptop on the port that you had connected 2602 to and see if this laptop gets an ip address.  If so, then your Setup is fine and connect directly to a CAPWAP AP on this port might not be supported.  Now, if the AP was independent, then it would work.  I don't know if you can get a CAPWAP AP to connect via an however MESH access point.

  • M4100 - 26G - POE - lack of recurring overload on 17-24 ports

I have a M4100 - 26G - POE that I bought a few weeks ago and I see recurring defects of overload on 17-24 ports only. I used the exact same cables and devices on ports 1-16 and they all work fine, but if I move the cable to one of the top ports this will work for a few minutes then reset due to a defect of overload all few minutes or more. Everything goes well with the cables or connectors, and like I said it works fine on ports 1-16. Ports 1-16 are configured as ports 17-24 in the page web.

I want to know is if anyone else experienced a similar problem. Specifically, I want to know if it's a defective unit, a hardware design flaw, or a problem with the firmware (version for this model). I tend to think, it's probably a defective unit, but I would not be shocked if it is a firmware issue.

I want to know because I won't go well the expense by exchanging the unit to the store or swap try it on warranty and get a replacement that is a refurbished, model unless something is actually wrong with the hardware. I don't know that I see myself using more then 16-port POE in the foreseeable future.

Firmware 10.0.1.27 is now available, and a section in the release notes may relate to this problem:

Someone who goes through this thread who saw this problem, tell us what you find!

  • SG300 - 28 p: POE power drops every few minutes

    Hi all

We have a SG300 - 28 p which, at intervals between 5 and 30 minutes or more, lower power to all its ports POE-powered and then immediately restores power. Switch logs nothing when this happens other than to record that the ports went down and back up, even with debug logging enabled. Non - POE ports are not affected.

When the problem started there were only four POE devices on the switch and we are far under our power budget. (During the test, I added a fifth device, see below.)

Not all combinations of devices cause the drops occur - specifically, it seems that having devices on ports next to each other causing the drops. When the drops occur, absent the increment of POE devices all counters. I noticed this thread earlier here seemed similar:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/thread/2165089

but in this case, he got no power at all in the adjacent configurations, instead of having to drop all the several minutes.

Hi Rich, reference this photo I just drew is a rough interpretation of how a switch 24 ports has guts. Each + block represents a processor. The numbers below represent the port Bank that corresponds to the transformer. Of course, MODULE POE is clearly identified. Each module 12 POE ports for services.

I think you have a completely different question. If the POE works for 5 to 30 minutes, it can be a problem of layer 1 (bad son) or a different, perhaps material condition being disturbed. If the switch is at fault, it seems more likely to be defective to a unit of buggy.  I did a lot of research on the operation of the switch ASIC, transformer and modules of POE in the cohesion.

Quite frankly, I think you should go to the 1.2.7.76 firmware, factory reset the device and test all the ports you want using the same equipment. If maintaining the POE fall every 5 to 30 minutes and you are absolutely positive, that it is not a question of layer 1 or a configuration problem on your products, can I just replace the switch.

  • Maximum power PoE switch SG100D - 8 p

    Hi all...

    Help, please

    How PoE power of SG100D - 8 p?

its port 8 all support PoE?

    Kind regards

    Leonardus

    Hi all

I wrote to the product manager switch (MP) and requested a document. He continued with a few detailed characteristics indicating the budget POE of 32watts spread over the ports 1 to 4. However, my statement above is correct.

A section of this document that the PM has sent me, is copied below.

Can't blame leolaohoo for being confused, because I think not publicly in the face of a document which indicates the power dedicated to the POE ports on switches in the 100 series.

When leolaohoo States in a question in a previous message and request confirmation, "basically what Dave said is that the switch can provide up to 8w of PoE power." my apologies for any misunderstanding.

The unmanged 8-port POE switches CAN provide up to 32Watts of POE power spread over four ports.

    Best regards, Dave

  • Requirements for the wireless 11n

We are looking for in our series of 1130 standalone AP upupgrade of for a wireless LAN Controller 2504 Cisco and Cisco LWAPP AP 2600 we currently 1130 AP is connected to a 3560 10/100 POE switch. We also have a switch not POE 2960 10\100\1000.

The wireless 11n will work connected to the switch 10\100 3560 POE? Or we will have to get a 10\100\1000 POE switch? A cheaper alternative would be to get injectors feeding AP 2600 s to connect to the switch of 2960 10\100\1000?

You can still connect to the APS. 10/100 PoE switch. The only thing is that the switch port will be the bottleneck. With 802.11n, the customer will have more flow and you should make sure that you don't oversubscribe the Ethernet port.

  • VPN for small offices - series 2811 vs RV

    Hi all

    Need advice

I have a question about this material to use for a small remote office.

    We currently have

    • 5 users
    • 5 7941 phones
    • 1 2811 (series, 2 FXS and 1 FXO)
    • 1 3560g

All voice devices are controlled by a CUCM 9 in our main offices. The 2811 is also an MGCP gateway.

Currently, they connect via a T1, that management wants to disconnect the reason for its high cost, the T1 is connected to a 2811 (C2800NM-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M) with the serial port and analog lines, behind the router, we a 3560 G 24 port (POE) with everyone connected.

They asked me to see if its possible to pass to a VPN site-to-site and possibly replace the 2811 and 3560 g with a much smaller device might be an all in one.

I've been looking around, and I did not any small business router that meets our needs. A tech colleague suggested looking in the RV series routers, but I don't see devices providing telephone services.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

Assuming you have a Cisco 2800/3800 series or better, at Headquarters, I would stick with the 2811 router and make a site to site VPN tunnel. You can actually register the phones through the tunnel and then use SRST for relief when the tunnel falls. Of course, preventing the phones to make and receive calls without the tunnel, but at least they will be able to talk to each other. If you are really worried about having at least a work phone then the internet connection breaks down at the remote desktop, you can buy a single line of POTS of the telco and run it on your FXO port. This line would serve for only emergency calls if you fall the tunnel. Nevertheless, the 2811 is much more powerful than the RV series (excluding the part on one of the models RV wireless).

  • End of 2012 the Ethernet Mini Mac does not connect

Everything worked very well upward until a week ago.  I did all these recent software updates to cause problems.

I'm running OS X 10.11.3.  I use wired ethernet.  My ethernet does not work.  Preferences network indicates that the cable is disconnected.  It is not the case.  I tried to use another cable and same results.  I have a managed switch and it still says that when the Mini is on that the port is turned on and has 1000 full duplex connection.  When I power down the port turns off indicating it is nothing plugged in, when I turn on it powered back upward.  Therefore, it is not as if the ethernet port has failed.

I tried to renew the DHCP lease in network, deactivation and reactivation of the ethernet service preferences and still no luck.  Keeps coming up as ethernet is not connected.  I opened terminal and ran ifconfig and receive nothing.  I am unable to ping to any external site.  I am also unable to connect to my modem.

Wireless works fine.  I have a second, identical Mac Mini connected to the same hardware via ethernet, which works very well, so it doesn't seem to be any hardware related issues.  I use all the gear from ubiquiti networks, 24-port POE switch and usg 4 router pro, all new age of 2 months.  This must be a Mac issue and has nothing to do with my equipment.  2014 mac Book Pro works fine as well as 2 iPad Pros and 2 iPhones though wireless connections for them.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    It happened to other institutions.

  • GigE lost frames/buffers

I'm losing Gige Frames/pads in a system that acquires way synchronous analog readings and images over long periods.

Computer: Nuvo 1300af 620, (Quad i7 processor clocked at 2.66 GHz, 5 ports POE GigE x, 3 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD), Windows XP embedded, Image Acquisition OR August 2012. NiDaqmx, Labview 2009 pro

    Camera: Basler Linescan RL2048 - 10gm Runner

Data acquisition: cDaq chassis with analog or 32-chan, OR 9401 9905 dig IO.

The camera and data acquisition modules use separate GigE ports which have different group addresses. GigE ports are disabled.

The LabView program has 2 while loops that run simultaneously. The CGI camera rotates at a speed of 3250 lines per second and has an image of 2048 x 384 (8.46 frames per second). CDaq NI9905 data acquisition module acquires simultaneously 18 channels analog readings to 3250 samples/second

Loop 1: Contains a Grab vi and an element of the queue vi. The vi Grab awaits the next buffer, then place for use of Tin while loop 2. The loop delay is set by the expectation of the next buffer (118ms) this loop has no other screws

Loop 2: contains a dequeue VI, waiting for the next element of the queue, setting the time of the loop. This loop also contains a VI to read NiDaqmx, who reads all the analog readings that are available each time around the loop. Images and analog readings are treated and are posted and immediately written to disk Solid State 2 files (1 analog data file file and.one of several image files). Writing of image files is organized so that these files will not exceed 1 GB in size: when an image file is full, writing going on to the next file. All files are created and opened at the start of the program.

At run time, at random intervals, a group of buffers to image is lost.

Monitoring of the VI Grab loop 1, it shows that when you run correctly, the increment of 1 buffer numbers whenever it reads a buffer, when buffers are lost, jumps from number of buffer to a value of 2 to more than 10. No errors are displayed. There is no change in the treatment in loop 2 at the point where the buffers are lost. Increase in the number of buffers (up to 100!) does not help

Applaud the time that the VI dequeue in while loop2 waits for the element following the queue, shows that this waiting time on average to about 60% of the time loop and goes through a minimum of 40%, except when the buffers are lost, when the timeout is momentarily not zero.

Windows performance analyzers show that the CPU usage is less than 20%, and the use of the network is less than 1%

    Hi Blake,

I found a solution that solves my problem.

I thought that the VI Grab when the value to acquire the next buffer, return all gains buffer in sequence, unless a buffer is overwritten. Instead, if the buffers are entered not fast enough, it does not return the following buffer, but the last of them acquired and no error. I had put the number of buffers at 25 or more, so that replacement buffers was not a possibility.

I changed the program, so that keeps an account number of buffer (incrementing the number of buffer on each bucket) and specifies the number of buffer to the VI Grab. It works well, even on the occasions when the loop of the acquisition is occasionally momentarily delayed by up to a second or more, i suspect, Windows to write the contents of the disk the disk buffer, or do some other household.

    Kind regards

so far in the test lab, it's all working, but I don't really have a load any on this topic. I can ping all machines on all the VLANS without problem, but I am very aware that this could go very wrong waqnt quickly so to minimize risk.

I have three unmanaged past that I need to connect to the 6224P which I'm looking to put on 1/1/g2-g4, I put Spanning tree portfast but I think it's maybe a wrong thing to do for these switches? pointers would be greatly appreciated and thanks for looking.

    see you soon

    Greg

You're right, you want to disable the portfast on ports that connect to other switches. Ports that connect to the workstations, servers, printers, etc. will want portfast enabled on them. Other than the config seems solid to me.

With the 62xx switches, they are not able to deliver their own management of VLANS, which by default is VLAN 1. If you do not plan the placement of all traffic on VLAN 1, you should not have problems. But if you plan to use VLAN 1 for all network traffic, you may need to make a slight change.

  • SRI G2s trunk between enhanced EtherSwitch modules?

I used enhanced Etherswitch modules before but never in the way I think a solution for a customer.

They want a data center in a solution so I spec'ing on 1 3945 with UCS, CUCME, unit, etc. plus a 24 ports PoE Etherswitch)

    SM-ES3G-24-P)

    .

For server redundancy, I put in a router 2921 with a blade of UCS and another 24 ports PoE Etherswitch.

My question is this.  I can build and SVI on both routers to say VLAN20 running HSRP and then the trunk 2 routers together using a port on the Etherswitches just as I would do if I had a couple of normal switches?  Or if this configuration is not supported?

My goal is to try to design a solution using only the routers without buying different external switches but the Etherswitches 2 in the router will have to shared resources and talk just like 2 external switches might.

    Thanks for any help!

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

I didn't test, but I don't see any reason why it won't work.

  • AP failed to connect with the WLC.

We have 5 sets of 1700 APs works on the mode of the controller and cisco WLC 2500.
I configured the controller as I always used to do, but this time the access points have been unable to reach the controller.
    That's what I did:
    controller IP address:192.168.1.250/24
    GW:192.168.1.1
    Primary DHCP: 192.168.1.250
I have connected the port1 controller with ethernet cable from the switch and the same switch I connected the AP.
We used the adapter instead of the POE switch.
I even tried assigning address to AP directly through the console as:
CAPWAP ap controller ip address and so on. This did not help either.

There was this message in the AP "% CAPWAP-5-DHCP_RENEW: could not find WLC by using DHCP IP." DHCP IP renewal. "
Moreover, the POE ports in the controller, they provide enough energy for the PA to operate?
    Help, please.
I have attached the PuTTY log as well.

    Hello
WLC connection has successfully been created. Then he for some reason any. I don't know if this helps, but try to connect the ethernet cable directly to the AP instead of port POE port to THE.
You can use port POE on AP even if you don t use the POE switch.

And regarding the port POE on WLC. Cisco doesn´t recommend that you directly connect AP to WLC, but it is possible.

Also I Don t see that the IP address is assigned by DHCP.
Try also to use the commands:
    CAPWAP ap ip address...
    CAPWAP ap ip default-gateway...

I guess the WLC and switch are configured correctly.

    EDIT:

    I had similar problem today.
Just connect the cable from the console to AP, go to mode and type the commands:
    Claire capwap private-config
    Claire lwap private-config

then reload AP with command "reload".

After these commands AP joined succesfully WLC
