Hello
I recently had to re - format, add a new activation key and add the asdm504.bin and the asa704 - k8.bin in my ASA 5520 (I accidentally erased memory on the machine). Now, whenever I use the command "reload" it just directly load in Rommon #... when I get to the Rommon prompt # all what I have to do is type currently... 'start-up' and it loads my file asa704 - k8.bin and load to the top of my config and good mine. I just wonder, is it possible that I would be able to put it easily so it loads the image automatically?

Hi Chris,
0 x 00112002-> which means start the TFTP server, runs aground, go to rommon.
The ' config-register 0 x 1 ' is ok, that it will ask the ASA to load from default image.»
As precaution (ditto for me), pls save the config (evem but will not delete the config file).

Download the site of Cisco IOS again and compare the MD5 hash value before transferring through the router IOS.

Refills of 6500 switch to ROMMON invites
Hello
I have a 6509 switch that restarted once goes to rommon prompt and asks me to intervene in order to obtain the start switch.
As far as I can see that the boot command is OK and the variable start pointing a file that exists in the bootflash. Here are some excerpts from the config and console as the switch is rebooted. If anyone has any ideas as to what need us, I would be happy.

It may be your configuration register that is the problem. If you-
(1) ' sh bootvar"this will show the configuration on the PR register. It will probably be 0 x 2102
(2) ' remote command switch see the bootvar"this will show the configuration on SP register.
If 2) does not display 0 x 2102 can do.
Switch (config) # config - register 0 x 2102
then repeat) 1 and 2) to check that they are both identical. No need to save config as configuration register is not part of the running configuration.

ROMMON versions for older routers
I'll set up a laboratory to start on my CCNA and I have two s and two 3640 2620 s. I want to upgrade all units until I started on the CCNA and I'm unable to work on what the final version rommon is for each of the routers.
My 3640's are on the version ' Version 11.1 (20) AA2. What is the final version?
One of my 2620's is on "Version 12.2 (10r) 1" and the other on "Version 12.2 (6r). Is "10r" the final version for the 2620?
I've also seen some sites mention that version "8r" or of the "3Rs" of the 2620 rommon adds support for flash 32 MB SIMMs. Is this correct?
Is there a document that describes the differences between the different versions? I searched on the net and cisco.com and I can't find anything.
Hello James,.
My suggestion is to not worry too the ROMMON version. The ROMMON is only a basic boot loader code that is responsible for the initialization of the IOS placed in your FLASH. After that, this isn't more relevant and certainly it does not affect what can make your IOS and what features are there. It's like being concerned about the version of LILO or GRUB on your PC when you run the version of edge bleeding from Windows7 and Ubuntu with all updates - it didn't really matter
More serious, however, is that to my knowledge, the ROMMON on 2620 routers is not extensible by downloading software. It can only be improved by replacing a hardware module ROM on the motherboard of the router.
I know that this post is not really useful, but at least, I would like to let you know the perspective - only in rare cases the upgrade ROMMON is really necessary. Do you think that you are in this situation?
Best regards
Peter

I resized the Partition Mac to make more space for BootCamp and now Windows will not boot
On a collague MacBook Air running 10.11.4, we used disk utility to reduce the Mac Partition so that we could then use a Windows tool to extend the BootCamp partition. However, upon restart, we got a BACK screen with the error that Windows cannot start because it cannot find the boot device.
Help, please?
This is not a mechanism supported by Apple to change the size of the Windows partition. Apple supports the remove/reinstall only.
We try to remedy. Please after the release of the following OSX Terminal commands.
diskutil list
Cs diskutil list
sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0
sudo fdisk/dev/disk0
What is the model/year of the MBA? Please, do not post the serial number of your Mac. Orders 'sudo' will ask for your password.

Boot Camp is no longer showing as bootable disk but still readable
Hello
I recently tried to increase the size of my boot camp partition and I partitioned my internal drive to create a space to be able to use this free space to extend the windows partition in to. However, after you have created this space empty on my drive, the bootcamp windows no longer displays when I hold 'alt' on power. Finder can still read the bootcamp drive and all files seem to always be there. I'm really confused and any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to uninstall boot camp and reinstall again that it would cause a problem for some software licenses.
Thanks in advance!
Ryan

A BC/Windows partition resizing is not supported by Apple officially. Third-party tools must be used very carefully. Don't mix not BC on the same Mac partitioning.

Installation of MacOS Sierra is not possible (no boot volume)
Hello everyone
I have an iMac with the following characteristics:
and I'm trying to install the new Sierra of MacOS. But everytime I open the installation program, it tells me that I can't use the partition called 'Mac OS X', which is my main Mac partition on my drive of fusion, for the installation of Sierra because it cannot be used as a boot volume. Of course, it's completely absurd because I started 'Mac OS X' volume whenever I boot my Mac!
This screenshot shows the installer and the associated message:
Could someone help me please? I really want to do a clean install of all and that spend hours to restore my previous settings! Please...?
Best regards
Martin
Hi mpauli,
I see that the Sierra of macOS Installer gives you a message saying "this disk cannot be used to start your computer." In order to get this problem solved, I suggest you follow through the troubleshooting steps in the link below.
See you soon.

We can establish a common partition for Mac OS and Windows Boot Camp
I'm new to Mac, so please excuse my ignorance.
I have a MacBookPro 11 mid-2015 with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB of RAM.
I have Mac OS X El Capitan and that you have installed 10 Windows using the Boot Camp utility on a 150 GB partition. I wanted a common partition on exFAT which could serve as a repository for my data either of the OS. My intention - 150 GB for Mac OS - 200 GB of data - 150 GB for Windows 10. How can this be achieved?
Earlier, after the Boot Camp, I reduced the Mac OS to 350 GB partition to 150 GB and released 200 GB. Formatting this turned me expensive because it stopped my Windows to start. Repair it was a waste of time and effort. I draw the hard Windows on a Mac is sensitive to changes in the partition.
In addition, is using Virtual Box better than Boot Camp? I don't have as much virtualized environments.
Please advice.
You can connect an external drive of ExFat formatted. The OSX and Windows can read/write on a disk formatted ExFat.
A virtual machine has its advantages, as does a Boot Camp facility. A virtual machine allows the simultaneous OS, any necessary initialization to change operating systems. Data can be shared between operating systems more easily. Computer such as memory resources are shared in a VM for applications environment to run slower.
Installation of Boot Camp allows Windows to run in native mode by using all of the system resources, so apps will go faster. But to change operating systems, a reboot is required. It is more difficult to share data.

No boot device, mac OSsierra, Win10
Hello
I have recentrly improved Mavericks to os Sierra on a MacBook Pro of the retina, end of 2012.
Now, I tried to install Win 10 64 bit Education via bootcamp.
I used a pendrive of 32GB, formatted using disk utilities, downloaded the Iso of win and to create the key USB WinInstall Bootcamp. Everything worked well. But when the Mac is restarted for the first time (just after the establishment of the size of the partition to Win), a black screen appeared saying «No device startup...» ». Then I tried to turn off the Mac and now restarted the hold option key. But once again, it shows only the normal Mac partition to boot from a USB key.
What could I do to make USB flash will recognize? What I did wrong?
Thanks for your help!
See you soon

I have been using Apple TrackPad with a laptop work (published by company, Windows only) for several years now. Working recently been upgraded to Windows 10 laptop and TrackPad Apple seems to not work well.
Is there anywhere I can download the boot camp 6.0 or more precisely that of Apple TrackPad driver pack?
Please download the general of brigade (https://github.com/timsutton/brigadier). A Mac is easier, but it also works well on Windows, provided that you have installed some of the underlying software that brigadier needs. You must provide a model of Mac and it will provide a WindowsSupport.dmg for this specific Mac/model on which this trackpad is supported.
What is the new Trackpad2 or the original Trackpad?

@Loner TCant boot Windows after the OS disk partitioning
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME
Problem is on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid-2012)
Running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6
Summer read your responses on other threads of hours but I can't seem to fix mine.
I just tried to do my small MAC drive through disk utility, I shrunk the size of the disk of my mac partition.
I still see "BOOTCAMP Windows" in Preferences > floppy boot, but when I restart in Windows I get a can not find disc blackscreen/error and it tells me to insert my Windows disk which I did not.
When I restart the 'option' key now just the MAC HD.
Can I save my Windows partition or do I have to start all over again?

How to install windows 8.1 using boot camp on sierra os
Im trying to install windows 8.1 64 bit on my end 2011 MacBook Pro using boot camp.
I downloaded the ISO from Microsoft file and saved it in the downloads.
i boot boot camp and she has 2 activated options are: software DOWNLOAD to apple support and the other is latest windows install or remove windows 10 or later.
I'm not sure why it says windows 10 as it is not compatible with my mac earlier. anyway I check the two options and then bootcamp download all drivers and records them in my pendrive of 32GB.
He then asks me what hard drive partition and I choose but then it says: he cannot find the installation file. I tried opening the file so it is mounted, but nothing works. I thought it's supposed to tell you what to do?
Thanks for any help
A Mac 2011 needs a physical DVD to install Windows and need to use the optical drive (CD/DVD). You cannot use an external CD/DVD drive.
Please burn the ISO on a DVD-R SL and then click the installation option only.
