• Failed to download JDE

  Hello.

  I'm new on javaME development on BB. I tried (unsuccessfully) to download any JDE site. Unfortunately, about 10% of the area total downloads then it just stops. I'm not living in the United States... If this information is useful. For now, I'm not picky on which version I get that I am trying my options. Is there maybe another mirror that I can download from? Oh, I tried with and without download on Firefox and IE managers.

  What could someone download jde 7.0 to a few files hosting, please? I can't stand bad quality of the bb download site, I tried to get jde 7.0 several times but couldn't because of broken file or interruption of connection.

  The problem is that there is no direct link, so if the download stops at some point, there is no other choice to try to download again. Hope those responsible for the site Web will be understand, since this isn't me suffering only from this, just search the forum.

• Download JDE 4.7

  I am a newbie (just got my Blackberry Storm). However, I am a software engineer with 25 years of experience (which a lot of experience of Java).

  I have all the tools I need sunglasses. Then I tried to get 4.7 or JDE 4.5.

  I was using Firefox with download extensions that allow me to pause and continue.

  1. I couldn't load one of these worms down. It crashes after a few megabytes and starts from the beginning instead of pause and restart where it left off.

  2. I tried other browsers and about all the different configurations in browsers, tools download and in the operating system (Vista).

  Is there something I need to know about how to download the JDE? Or is the network problems, and if so, when it should be OK again?

  Problem solved!

  I was downloading in WIFI to my network to the internet through my firewall. However, when I tried on a computer over my ethernet directly, it worked. Somehow, using wifi it stopped working.

  Solution... If you have tried this via wifi. Change to a direct ethernet connection and this should work.

  Fellow developers,

  Ive been previously a VB / c# guy but who want to enter the development for my beloved BB.  Unfortunately, however, I'm stuck with the tools.

  I have successfully connected on the dev site and you can view the tutorials, however when you try to download one of the JDE (I want 4.7 or higher because my main goal is, selfishly, my flashlight and I initially) I can look at the following picture for days; He will never no more

  

  In this case whatever the machine, the operating system or browser.

  @blackberrydev suggested that they had made some changes recently however I am really desperate to start so any help would be appreciated.

• Installation of the JDE 4.6.0... PREREQ JDK 5.0 (1.5) not recognized

  Hey. Had to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows. Downloaded JDE 4.6.0 once again and during the installation, he said he had to JDK 1.5 or higher and found nothing. I have JDK 5.0 (the same that I heard about 1.5) installed.

  It's updated 21, I'm actually under update 14 - I don't update since it is not broken!

• IntelliSense in JDE and Eclipse PlugIn

  Newbie here! I need to develop to the 5.0 platform. I downloaded JDE for 5.0 and got example HelloWorld working. My previous 2 years were with Eclipse so after a lot of frustration, I have Eclipse Helios working with the pack 5.0 component. But I noticed on the JDE and Eclipse that intellisense does not seem to be available / work. In other words, if I type:

  int myInt = 0;

  myInt = myString.

  I'm expecting the IDE to display the methods available for the String object immediately after my typing of the period. Do BB d and Eclipse Plugins support this, and if so, any idea why this doesn't work?

  In JDE, go to Edit/Preferences/Editor/semi-automatic and select:

  Include the java.lang.Object methods...

  Not sure why this is not however the default value.

  In Eclipse, it seems to work, but I don't know why (I won't change anything).

• Confusion between OS & JDE

  I developed application in jde 4.7. The code is designed keeping backwards compatibility with 4.5. So, now I want to test the code in the Simulator with OS 4.5.

  My confussion is:

  1. I would like to download jde 4.5 and add build my project inside and test with the simulators available in jde
  2. I can download Simulator bundle 4.5. Wish will give me OS 4.5 Simulator. and test my application in this OS 4.5 Simulator.

  Earlier, I think my concept was to download jde 4.5 and test in it. But now, looking at the beams of Simulator, I'm confused.

  sonicboomboy is not correct.

  You can not run code developed in 4.7 4.5 Simulator (or other device).  In fact, it is not 100% reliable.  It can work.  But it is not supported.  If this does not work, it is not accident, because of the way that you coded.

  Always develop on an OS/JDE/component pack which is older than or at the same level as the simulator/device you are targeting.

  Then download JDE 4.5 and compile using that.

  Then download and test with 4.5 desired simulators.

• Have JDE 4.6, but can't find Simulator for BB 9000

  Hi guys.  Thanks to many of you, my app works now.  He works with JDE 4.5 in a physical 8700 c both in the Simulator.  I use the Eclipse plugin and I have various installed Blackberry JDE.

  I need simulate the application on BB 9000. Read here, it seems that 9000 Simulator would have disclosed upward in 4.6.  I did 4.6 help/softwareUpdates /... and it is installed.  But when I run / 'Run Configurations' I see "Default Simulator" and 8900-JDE.

  How can I find the 9000 Simulator?  Help much appreciated - fd

• Problems installing the Java tools

  I'm new to Java development, and I have a problem with the basic tools in place. I am running Windows XP, installed Java (TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 17 and tried several versions of Eclipse. Installed Eclipse version 3.5.1 then downloaded JDE plugin for Eclipse 1.0.0.67 but when I ty to install it I get a message saying that it is not compatible with the version of Eclipse installed (it seems to Eclipse 3.4.1, which isn't available currentlly). If I simply continue with the installation of the plug-in, I seem to get some of the BlackBerry menu items in the Eclipse program but it won't let me install the d. I tried to use the option software upgrades to help Eclipse, but it will not allow a link to the BlackBerry website. It says I'm missing some elements. Any suggestions?

  After doing some research I realized that the separate JDE downloads are stand-alone applications. I think that my problems have been solved. Thank you.

• problem loading my 1st application on Storm

  A1_Setting_up_necessary_tools_v5.0.PDF

  but I found gaps between the instructions contained in the above document and web pages listed, so something maybe not ok.

  In particular where exactly can I download JDE (4.3 to 4.7)? -I can't back up what I did earlier...

  I built my 1st request (hello World) for Blackberry. He works on the farm, but does not load in my Storm in 'Desktop Manager'. When I try to load the alx file, I get a message that the device is not supported.

  I think that I don't have his own version of one of the components.

  I installed the following:

  Eclipse 3.4.1

  Blackberry JDE 4.5.0 component package

  This is quite new to me (even though I have some experience of programming). Where can I find the latest Blackberry JDE component package?

  OK, I finally installed my test application!

  After that I removed all the namespaces all the files and all the following stuff, I managed to load it via Desktop Manager. I'm a little surprised that the removal of the namespaces in files solved the problem.

• Not opening not MDS Simulator

  I have downloaded JDE. I found the MDS with it, but when I click on the mds Simulator, a window opens and fainted .i can't find it running. I even tried with the mds & bes downloaded separately,

  I had this problem sometimes when I installed a new Version of Java. Lets assume we are using JDE 4.3.0:

  • Check that the - windows environment variable "JAVA_HOME" points to the right place, you can set it in system-sign in-> system. In my environment, it points to "C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.6.0_13\jre".
  • Go to C:\Programme\Research in Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.3.0\MDS
  • Click on run.bat

• Icon in the Simulator, no icon on Blackberry

  Hi all

  I recently started to enter the development of BB.

  I have installed the JDK, JDE, etc. and created found here simple HelloWorld example:

  I then tested the device Simulator, and everything went well.  I could see the icon and launch the program.  Great!

  Then, I wanted to test it on my Rogers BB Bold new with 4.6.0.125.  I installed the program via a JAD file, which worked.

  However, I have no icon to launch the program, as I did in the Simulator!  I looked everywhere and I can't find him.

  Any ideas?

  Additional info:

  If I look in Options > Advanced > Applications, my program is here.  However, if I try delete, it does nothing.

  With the help of 4.5.0.7 and j2sdk 1.4.2_18 JDE

  When I created an ALX and tried to install via the BB Desktop Manager, I get the error message: no additional applications designed for your device were found.

  Quickly to the answers to some of your questions:

  First you should run a level more later from Java to the JDE 4.5.  See:

  I would recommend that you upgrade your Java, although in this case, I'm not sure it's important.  So I don't think this will solve your problem.

  Regarding your alx, unless you have installed the latest Office Manager (4.6) or an operating system for your device, you can load via the application loader.  Two possible corrections.  You can update the Devices.xml file to include the "BOLD" or to download and install DM 4.6.

  However, these proposals will not help with your you see is not the icon.  I assume you looked in the downloads for it?
