  Something has changed. The status bar disappeared. The only way I seem to be able to leave Firefox is to close.

  I guess what you mean in the bar of horizontal scrolling if you want to be able to scroll horizontally.
  Firefox will normally only show the bar if content extends outside the browser window.

  You can have zoomed pages by accident.

  Any chance can get you the status bar, because all updates FF28 past do not have the status bar which is where most of my favorite Addons are located (for example, eQuake Alert and ForecastFox. I've been in situations where something has been empty my independence as well. So, since it seems to be draining your, I'll have you try a few more troubleshooting ranging from easiest to hardest.

  I'm almost certain that you tried to reboot your iPhone. If you do not, it is the easiest step and gets overlooked often. If you have tried all the steps I provided here, feel free to ignore them.

  For the safety of your data, whenever you reset a device, it is always a good idea to have a new backup of your data
