I have Windows XP running the 5.1 Microsoft Fax console. After I compose a fax and preview before sending the whol; e systemsimply crashes and I have to stop. After restart of the fax console starts the fax. What is going on?

Do you consider that Windows XP Fax Services works as well it is lucky.  One thing you could do to help focus your debugging efforts is to start the task (CTRL + ALT + DELETE) Manager, select the processes tab and click the CPU twice to sort by CPU utilization with the highest at the top.  Now do drag the Manager window on the side of the screen and dial and get a glimpse of a fax.  When the system crashes, the Task Manager window should show which application takes all cycles CPU.

If the process using the CPU is rundll32.exe, it almost certainly is the process that runs the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (which is a dll file, not an exe file).

In researching this issue, I came across a post that indicated that Windows Picture and Fax Viewer was "slow to open" (not quite a ' freeze') when he was a link not valid in the directory that contained the viewed image.  The image of 'overview' fax is located in C:\Documents and Settings\Settings\Temp.  Before you run the Send Fax Wizard, remove all items in this temp directory and see if that helps.

  • Microsoft Management Console error: this function is not supported on this system. Also noticed that the automatic updates did not install it and returned error 80070005.

Original title: Microsoft Management Console this feature only is not supported on this system

I am running Vista 32 bit Business since an administrator account.

Recently, I noticed that the automatic updates did not install it and returned error 80070005.   After investigation, I found that I could not open mmc at all and always get the message "this function no is not supported on this system.  No major changes have been made to the configuration to trigger it and I can't watch the event log because it is in the MMC.
I have studied this question in line and tool the following actions, which none worked:
carried out a complete antivirus scan (I use Commodo internet security)
    created another account administrator
    has run SFC (no problem)
has run the registry cleaner (no problem)
has run msconfig.exe and disabled all the startup process
updated windows right click and run as administrator
Started in safe mode and tried all above
After that, I don't know where to go... it doesn't seem to be a download for Windows vista to reinstall mmc.
I have about 50 updates critical, sitting in my windows update that can not install because of this problem.  Can anyone help?

    Hello Helpmehelpme,

First, I would check since it is professional Vista was that computer on a field of work or it was already on an area of work? There may be group policies that are in place that prevent to run MMC.

When did start to happening? Is there anything new on the system which has been introduced into the environment (software, hardware)?

  • Bug to escape text with Microsoft Fax Server TSID/CSID

I found a bug where an ampersand is escaped in one place but not in another place, so it is displayed inconsistently.

    To reproduce:

    (1) in the Microsoft Fax Service Manager, go to the devices and suppliers > devices > [device] > properties > general tab

    (2) on this tab, find "Transmission settings > Subscriber ID (TSID).

    (3) type a value with an ampersand, as "testA & testB.

    (4) on this tab, find "Transmission settings > Subscriber ID called (CSID).

    (5) type a value with an ampersand, such as «testC & testD»

    (6) ensure that the header is selected and also received email with active attachment
    (7) send a fax and receive a fax
    (8) discovers the two e-mails you have received.  The attachment which says that the fax was sent shows the TSID as 'testA _testB' (instead of the correct "testA & testB"). The email indicating that a fax has been received shows the CSID as 'testC & testD '.

To work around this problem so that the two chains will appear correctly, I have to type "testA & testB" as the TSID and 'testC & testD' as the CSID.

I use the 6.2.9200 on Windows Server 2012 Fax Service Manager.

  • What are the tasks we can perform by using Component Services in the Microsoft Management Console?

    Original title: use MMC

Can someone enlighten me on component services, found in the administrative tools, including the management console folder. Is their anything that can be done by someone who has no knowledge on this subject, extensive Windows, I use XP (SP3) thank you.

    Hi ratchet.

Microsoft Management Console (MMC) lets system administrators create much more flexible user interfaces and customize administration tools.

See this link for the tasks that we can perform using Component Services in the Microsoft Management console.

With Component Services, administrators can deploy and administer service applications of components through a graphical user interface or automate administrative tasks using a programming or scripting language. Software developers can use Component Services to visually configure routine component and behavior of the application, such as security and participation in transactions, and to integrate components into Component Services applications.

  • Problems with Microsoft fax and scan

I use Microsoft fax and scan on a win 7 pro sp1 machine, to connect to a Microsoft Fax under windows 2012 R2 server.  Inbound faxing works ok, but for outgoing faxes, a few questions.

on the server, I can see 4 pages of coverage.  How can I force users to use these 4 cover pages.  I thought that they show for all users in the domain, but they did not.

When you send a fax how do I get it to look at outlook (we use office 365) for the contact database?

for both the fax and scanning seems to be only looking on the local computer.  I'm looking for something more integrated with this solution.
