Satellite L310 - has HDD shock protection?

I am from Asia and the proud owner of a L310.

Recently, my friend bought a Toshiba netbook. When I checked and shaked... He encouraged and appeared on screen a notice that the hard drive is parked now properly to avoid damage.

I had mine L310 laptop and I tried the same thing, but nothing appears on the screen. How can I know if this feature works or not? One day, I want to find my laptop where anti-shock function is not set up and accidentally fall.

Is there a way to check this feature if it is active?

Thank you...

Have a look here:
http://PC.Toshiba-Asia.com/Laine/public/search.action?ModelId=L310&product=satellite&a=not ebookDetails & currentTab = portable #prodSpecs

You'll find the info that the HARD DISK supports the dampers.

  • Re: Satellite L650 / 07C - HDD (Hard Drive Impact Sensor) shock protection system

I just bought a Satellite L650 / 07C. When I bought it from the dealer, I was under the impression that this model came with the function disk hard drive shock protection system (hard drive Impact sensor).
I ran the Toshiba PC Health Monitor application, but it seems not to have this function - it gives me the power settings, Temp and fan are monitored, as well as a status of hard disk drive, but nothing on the disk hard drive shock anti-siphoning (hard drive Impact sensor).

Under my file utilities Toshiba HDD SSD Alert application that shows the same icon as the one I saw in the reseller on their Toshiba Satellite when they did there evidence the shock protection system. I ran this application, but it gives me just a status message that the drive works properly.

Could someone please confirm with certainty whether the model I have this feature.

    Thank you very much.

Everything goes well with your laptop. I made a screenshot and uploaded to show you:

When you shake your portable hard drive ssd aler appears, however, you can disable it appearing.

  • Satellite L310-D4011: how to reset the DVD region to 0 setting?

    Dear all,

    I have a Satellite L310 D4011 I bought recently in which I installed a DVD playback software.
I run Windows XP. One of my friends played a video clip of the United Kingdom (Mccartney Live at red square) in the DVD player and the original region setting that was 0 with 5 remaining changes, went to 4 changes remaining and the area is now set to 2. I am in India where the region for DVD is 5. If I change to 5, I lose another change option.

I don't want to leave my DVD ROM stuck 0 left options and some other areas.

Can someone give me advice to reset the region back with five remaining options - as it was when I bought the laptop?
I'll be very grateful. The salesperson who I bought the laptop will be able to get back to factory setting?

    Best wishes

    Hello

I think Toshiba has nothing to do with it. To protect the film industry and interests all laptop manufacturers offer optical disk drives where you can watch movies with country code but only 5 times. The last chosen region code will be set as default. So if you have more than 4 codes there is no reason to panic. Just continue to watch movies in your favorite area.

I'm 100% sure that Toshiba service or the vendor where you bought your laptop will say that they have nothing to do with it. In drive properties you have set out to clear how it works.

In any case, you can try to contact them and ask for help.

  • Is satellite L310-S408 - new or used?

I bought a new laptop, Toshiba Satellite L310-S408 June 8, 2009, and then I tried to dig deeper on my new laptop.
I used "Get data back for NTFS" to get the data in my address information removed.

But I jumped because I found some data created, modified and accessed July 7, 2008, and one of them contains a log of update from adobe.
    What are they mean?

Is this to say that my new laptop is not really new? It is the second?

    Thank you

    Hello

Please don't be afraid that your laptop has been used. : D

As you know the image of Toshiba was preinstalled on this laptop
I think this image has been created a few months ago and that's why you are getting data that is a little older

It would also be possible that the image is not old, but just used Adobe files/tool was a little older who has been included in the image of Toshiba.

    But it's nothing unusual
Therefore, you should always run an update of Windows because the windows OS is not updated!

  • Satellite L310-D4010: OS became dead slow while using the CD/DVD drive

    Hi all

I bought Toshiba Satellite L310-D4010 in chennai, India.

It has 2 GB of RAM and processor 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

But my system became * slow * while I use the optical drive, that is, when I write a disk and copy the content form the drive.

I was not able to open any application while I am using the DVD player.

Please guide me to solve this problem.

    Thanking you.

    This is nothing unusual.

My windows system is also busy when burning the CD or DVD!
The point is that most of the resources of mobile phone as a disk, CD/DVD player, RAM, CPU, etc. are necessary and run it with maximum performance during this procedure and to be honest not advisable to work with the laptop during a burning, because this may affect the quality of combustion.

In my opinion there is noting wrong with your laptop, but if you want you could check if some process is not required are running in the background of the OS.
In addition, you may disable auto-start for some non-material applications while the Windows start the process.

  • Satellite C55 - Has - 1 L 0 does not start in Windows 8

    Hey guys.
I hope you can help me a bit.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite C55 - has - 1 L 0 here and it does not start in Windows 8.

I turn it on, the Toshiba start screen appears, and then I get a message on a black screen saying "media control" (failure) and after a little while "no boot device. Please restart.

I checked the BiOS and it does not see the hard drive (said HARD drive - no) and even in the boot order list, I don't get a list with the DVD drive with the exact name, but for the HARD drive.
I tried to do a recocery with the F12 key and get the list to choosw where I want to start but by selecting the disk hard does not work.

So I thought I'd try a live distribution of linux to see where is my hard drive and back up my data (after some settings in the BIOS - boot CMS mode) but I can't find there too. (I have a file fstab and mtab, it would help if I posted it here?)
Is my HARD drive broken? Can I try something else?

    Thank you very much!

You are right. This issue should be fixed by the authorized service provider.
Furthermore, why do some risk steps to check this problem, if the warranty is valid.
Warranty will cover the repair costs.

Addresses and phone numbers, you can find on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

    Good luck.

    > have a model of Asia Satellite L310 damaged the USB pin inside. Which is I confirm not used to bad use by my own, & my friend recently purchase a new model problem Satellite M300 also faced the same as mine
That s very strange and I cannot believe that
I mean if the PIN to USB ports was broken on the first day of purchase, then why you didn't visit your dealer and asked the replacement of the laptop?

However, I had 2 portable satellite in the past. Series not Asian but portable European Satellite. Now, I m using a satellite A210 and all USB ports is OK on all my series.

  • Satellite M200 - has internal Bluetooth?

I have a serial number of System Satellite M200 PSMC3A-06N008: 18139050Q with motherboard Intel Corporation SANTA ROSA CRB BIOS: Phoenix Technologies LTD 1.90 20/12/2007
The user guide says it must be installed on the motherboard by Bluetooth, but when I try to install the "battery Bluetooth for Windows by Toshiba" I am asked to install the Bluetooth device.
Review of the Device Manager does not show Bluetooth devices, so my question is...

The PSMC3A-06N008 Satellite M200 has the Bluetooth chipset on the motherboard?

If so, it would look like mine is defective.

    Hey Buddy,

It's not easy to say because it depends on your model of laptop and there are different models with different features on the market.
I tried to check the specifications on the Australian site, but no results were found for your model :(

Normally if your laptop is equipped with BT, you should find the [logo Bluetooth | http://www.thebikerstore.co.uk/product_images/n/033/Bluetooth_logo__70711_zoom.jpg] on the lower side of your laptop.

My drive hard protect seems to have turned itself off and I cannot turn it on again, all the buttons are "grayed out".

    Hello

Do you mean the HDD Protection Utility? If so, I would recommend reinstall this tool. You can find it on the Toshiba site:

  • Satellite A500-10F - HDD protection freezes the machine

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on my Satelite A500-10F. It does seem however to all the drivers for it.

There is a problem with the HARD drive protection. When she is supposed to trigger the whole machine freezes and I have to turn it off manually. Are there drivers available for this? If yes where can I find them? What else can I use until these become available? Hope there is a solution to the problem of easily available with windows 7...

    Hello

Satellite A500-10F seems to belong to the series of PSAM3E and the Win 7 64 bit drivers are available on the page of the European driver Toshiba for this model of laptop.

There is also a HDD Protection Utility v2.2.0.2 for Win 7 64 bit.
I recommend to remove the old HDD Protection Utility, then clean OS using CCleaner for example and after new reboot you might reinstall the software again.

    Welcome & good luck

The USB 3.0 controller is Intel. But the USB 3.0 Intel driver was available only for Win 7. Since win 8 internal Microsoft USB 3.0 driver is used for all computers/laptops in the world.

I have your case I would test different USB ports as part of different USB devices to check exactly if all devices and ports are affected.
Probably there s no USB port number
Perhaps the problem of compatibility between the new 8.1 Win and external device?
