5.6 LR launched with a single folder showing

When I launched this morning at 5.6, there was only one folder (Sarah-PG) view of the library on my drive of G. yesterday evening he had used three dozen or so. Lightroom was also prompting stuff on view from LR and mobile when they were already turned off. I had also been signed out of the Win764() CC app running. Photo attached.

I signed up thinking CC, it might be useful. CC tried to update but does not (if I remember the code 1001). I uninstalled the CC App and reinstalled.

I had happen on previous versions of LR. He has worked in the past to import a file that was already there that the changes appear as well. I tried this time by adding the Kingma-family folder. Loading - he showed edited versions (B & W photography), but then returned to the raw image. The photo shows him doing it.

I thought that LR may have created a new catalog LR5 and began with an older file - but this seems to be my original LR5 catalogue.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hi darrinb,

If you are registered for creative cloud, very probably, you use Lightroom CC no Lightroom 5.

Check in the CC application if Lightroom CC is installed. If so open and check if you have the original back catalogue.

I have Windows 7 with the latest updates of downloadale. I need to have some application folders containg icons in a folder without the navigation pane, while having others with the pane. If I hide the pane in a folder, it is applied to all the ohters. I have tried all possible information available (property, notice, put on the page...) without success.

    Hello

I wish to inform you that it is not possible to do this with a single folder. The navigation pane settings will affect all the files in Windows Explorer.

  • Thunderbird 38.01, when I created a new e-mail account, it does not take account the preferences of archive and records everything in a single folder, although the old accounts work well.

I installed Thunderbird on a system different and migrated with success profile, but earlier today that Gmail wasn't picking up messages correctly, so I ended up using the new feature of Thunderbird. (I'm also spent POP IMAP for Gmail). The newly created has no trouble picking up the messages from the server, but when I try to archive, he pours everything into one folder. My settings call for records of the year and the month. Each account other archive correctly. The newly created is not in a row.

While poking around, I can have answered my own question. Thunderbird was not ignoring the parameters month and year for archiving completely. He was pouring newly archived messages from the Gmail account in a single folder. However, it was also archiving each of them in the old Gmail account archives folder and putting them in the correct subfolders it. It's strange, but it is achievable. I guess that Thunderbird has recognized the same email address used to set up the old account (which wasn't downloading mail more for some reason any) and the new. I changed the folder on the new configuration settings to point to the folder of old archives, and now Thunderbird archives only one copy of each message, as it should.

  • Is it possible to make a family of 23 models and put them in a single folder?

I'm using an iMac with OS X El Capitan with Pages for Mac version 5.6.1.

I have 23 models (Pages) and placed in a single folder. Is this possible?

Pages v5.6.1 does not support subfolders model outside of, or in the standard location it stores the user created models.

When you create these 23 models in Pages v5.6.1, save them in the file menu: Save as template... and allow the Pages to be placed in the location of my models.

This is how it works if you have iCloud drive lit for than TextEdit. You can go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud Drive - Options and remove the check mark in front of TextEdit it. After that open TextEdit will open directly to a new document. You will still be able to save a document to iCloud by car if you want.

  • Renaming of documents by adding an annex of the commune for the names of existing files on several files in a single folder

Is it possible to add an annex to the town (for example "-file BL ') existing file name (for example"daily reports1) to several (selected) files in the same folder?  (The example given could therefore be renamed "daily reports - comes from the BL file").  I need to do this to identify the source of documents folder when they are copied into a common folder: to compare with the similar files in other folders for various purposes.  There are a lot of documents in many files, I need to transfer and compare.  A rough estimate, it is that I need to add an annex to the town of 200 files named differently in a single folder and repeat this process for 30 files: with my existing knowledge of XP, this means that I would have use the rename individually on 6000 documents, and if the additional annex has been say 5 characters which would be a minimum of 30 000 key strokes : If adding appendages common to several document names selected in a folder is possible, this might reduce the name change to close to 150 list.

PLEASE NOTE the multiple rename function where each selected file is the same thing with a renamed after the index number in brackets should not be - the original file name should be kept.

  • Using Easy Transfer of Win 7 PC to another Win 7 PC with 1 single monitor

II want to transfer files and settings on a PC running Windows 7 SP1 to another PC running the same operating system. I have only 1 monitor. How to make the transfer with 1 single monitor?  If I can do it with 1 monitor PC must be connected to the monitor? Or what I have to go back between the 2 PC's? Thank you. (Stupid question, I guess, but I need some advice).

    Hi Harry,.

Yes, you can use a system image to transfer the data.

However, Windows Easy Transfer is a software assistant to transfer files and settings from one computer running Windows to another. You can transfer data from one user or multiple user accounts profile. Easy transfer Windows application will help you choose what to move to your new computer, you can set the transfer method to use and then performs the transfer. Once the transfer is done, Windows easy transfer reports displays what was transferred and provides a list of programs that you can install on your new computer, as well as links to other programs you can download.

With Windows Easy Transfer, files and settings can be transferred using a network, a flashdrive USB (UFD), or the easy transfer cable. However, you cannot use a regular universal serial (USB) bus cable to transfer files and settings using Windows Easy Transfer. You can buy a cable to transfer files on the Web, the manufacturer of your computer, or at an electronics store.
    noteNote
You can't use Windows Easy Transfer to move program files. Windows Easy Transfer can move only data and program settings. You must then install your software on the new computer.

Windows Easy Transfer, also, does not transfer any system files such as fonts and drivers. To do this, you must install custom and updated fonts to update drivers in Windows 7.

Use the Microsoft Windows User State Migration Tool (USMT) 4.0 to automate migration during large deployments of the Windows 7 operating system. For more information about the USMT, see the User State Migration Tool 4.0 (usmt.chm) Help documentation installed with the Windows AIK, or see this Microsoft Web site.
Prepare for migration on the destination computer

To start Windows easy transfer on the destination computer, follow these steps:

    1. close all active programs.

    2. click on start, click principally made programs, accessories, click System Tools, and then click Windows Easy Transfer.

The Windows Easy Transfer window opens.

    5. click on this is my new computer.

    6. click on that I need to install it now.

    7. Select the destination media on which you want to store the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard files. You can store the files to an external hard drive or a network drive Wizard, or you can store it on a USB key.

    * Method 1: Transfer files and settings using a USB cable

    * Method 2: Transfer files and settings using a network

    * Method 3: Transfer files and settings using removable media or a network share

Method 1: Transfer files and settings using a USB cable

1 connect the two computers with a USB cable, as for example the Windows Easy Transfer cable, and install the drivers for that cable.

    2. start Windows Easy Transfer on the computer from which you want to migrate settings and files by browsing to the removable media or network drive containing the wizard files, and then double click on migsetup.exe. The program can also start automatically when you insert the removable media.

Method 2: Transfer files and settings using a network

    1. start Windows Easy Transfer on the computer from which you want to migrate settings and files by browsing to the removable media or network drive containing the wizard files, and then double click on migestup.exe. The program can also start automatically when you insert the removable media.

    2. click on next.

    3. click on a network.

    noteNote
Both computers must support the transfer method you choose. For example, the two computers must be connected to the same network.

    4. click on this is my old computer.

    5. follow the steps to enter the key of Windows Easy Transfer on your new computer to allow network connection.

    6. on your new computer, after entering the Windows Easy Transfer key, click Next.

A connection is established and Windows Easy Transfer checks the updates and compatibility.

Click transfer to transfer all files and settings. You can also determine which files should be migrated by selecting only the user profiles that you want to transfer, or by clicking Customize.

    7. click close once Windows Easy Transfer has completed migrating files and settings to the destination computer.

Method 3: Transfer files and settings using removable media or a network share
Copy the files from the source computer

    1. start Windows Easy Transfer on the computer from which you want to migrate settings and files by browsing to the removable media or network drive containing the wizard files, and then double click on migsetup.exe.

    2. click on next.

    3. click on an external hard drive or USB key.

    noteNote
Both computers must support the transfer method you choose. For example, both computers must be supported the same type of removable media.

    4. click on this is my old computer. Windows Easy Transfer scans the computer.

    5. click on next. You can also determine which files should be migrated by selecting only the user profiles that you want to transfer, or by clicking Customize.

    6. enter a password to protect your file transfer file, or leave the box blank, and then click Save.

    7. navigate to the location on the network or removable media where you want to save your easy transfer file, and then click Save.

    8. click Next. Windows Easy Transfer displays the file name and location of the file Easy Transfer that you just created.

Copy files to the destination computer

    1. connect the removable media to the new computer.

    2. start Windows Easy Transfer and then click Next.

    3. click on an external hard drive or USB key.

    4. click on this is my new computer.

    5. click Yes, open the file.

    6. navigate to the location where the transfer file was saved. Click on the name of the file and then click Open.

    7. click transfer to transfer all files and settings. You can also determine which files should be migrated by selecting only the user profiles that you want to transfer, or by clicking Customize.

    8. click close once Windows Easy Transfer completed moving your files.

  • Merge several files in many subfolders in a single folder tree

I have several sets of records, each with several subfolders, trees each subfolder that contains several files. I would like to merge all this into a single folder tree, maintaining the same subfolder structure and each subfolder containing a single set of files, eliminating all inevitable duplicates of the merger.

Do this manually with Windows Explorer, it is painful and long. I have to select all the files in any subfolders, and then drag the selection to the subfolder in the main folder tree, choose 'move and replace' and check "do the same for the next x conflicts and repeat this process for each of the many secondary issues."

Although I did an online search before posting this call for assistance, I have saw that of the utilities that will merge all files into multiple files in a single folder, I saw not a utility that will do what I need.

I hope that someone will know of a utility that will allow me to win this manually for the next years!

    Thank you in advance.

    useful43

The solution proved to be easier than I thought.

Rather that you select all of the files in each folder separately, which was painful and long, I chose each tree at once, and Windows Explorer did the rest, as it did before.

  • I can't fix my mouse to use the option with a single click in windows 8. The two click works fine, but I prefer the one click option

With Windows Vista and Windows 7, I put the mouse to use the option with a single click to open files and programs desktop.  I can't find this option in Windows 8.

    Hello

Thanks for the post about Microsoft Community.

I understand that you don't want to use the simple click instead of double click of the mouse that you used in Windows Vista and 7.

I would ask you to please follow the steps below to activate the option just click on the button of the mouse in Windows 8.

un) Please move the cursor to the bottom right and click on the search box, which is the first option in this Panel.

    b) in the search box, type Control Panel, and then click Control Panel.

    c) after opening the Control Panel, you will see many programs such as the system, network and security, Internet, hardware and sound, and other programs. Click "appearance and personalization".

    d) now click on the folder option to open it.

    e) now you will see many options in the folder option. Now, click single-click to open an item (point to select).

    f) now click on apply and ok to turn this feature on your computer.

I hope your problem is solved now. Please feel free to write back if the problem still persists.

I had the same problem with the certificate has expired. VMware has made a new kb article:

    http://KB.VMware.com/kb/2035413

This vcsso file is only there if you do not click ok on the error window. but you do it anyway. Look under the VirtualCenter\SSL of C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware and see if the rui certificate has expired. mine did and after I removed all the files in there and restart the installation, everything went well, and the new certificate is valid 10 years ;-)

hope it does not help anyone.

  • LR 4, how to import in a single folder?

I guess what's new in LR 4, but when I import, I select the folder I want pictures imported worms, but LR to create subfolders for each day, not what I want.

For example, I just imported my CF card images shot this last weekend and ended up with four subfolders (24-05-2012, 2012-05-25, 26-05-2012 and 2012-05-27).

What I wanted was for all the images in a single folder.

Am I missing an option that is set somewhere?

    Thank you

The Destination panel appears as long you have selected in the top middle of the import dialog box.

It shows only when you select or .

means that the imported photos are added to the catalog but stay where they are right now.

means that the photos are imported and moved to a new location on your hard drive.

means that they are imported and copied to the new location.

When you import pictures from camera or memory card directly into Lr, you select .

When you download photos first through your BONE and they are already at the location where you want it, you would select import into Lr.

  • 5.1.7 server on El Capitan: create a user with a personalized folder location

I've recently upgraded to El Capitan on my server once an apple advisor told me that 5.1.7 server had a bunch of bug fixes for Open Directory(which I plan on using down the road). Given that the Working Group Manager is not compatible with 10.11...

Is there a way to create a user with a personalized folder location? When I create a user on the server, I can choose to create a home folder, with or without limitation in the disc or make the service of the user only. My problem is that I have no way (that I know) in the window of creating user to change the location of this folder.

I tried to create a model of a user with a basic 'tailor-made' folder location (Volume/promised Pegasus/Home 2016 / etc...) but when I create the user, the home folder is not in the specified path.

The "work around" I found for this batch of user is to create in the default location then move them on my raid Promise Pegasus, change the path to the advanced option to the each user and reassign the appropriate permissions.

It is not so much a problem if I would deal with users 10. But I have to manage/create about 130-150 users every 5-6 months.

I guess that there is an easier way to create a user with a custom home folder location. It would make sense that apple removes the Workgroup Manager and does not replace its characteristics.

Best case scenario is that I do evil and do not hesitate to let me know if this is the case!

    Thank you

    Francis

I may be wrong, but it seems that Workgroup Manager version 10.8 works under El Capitan: I can certainly start the application and query users / groups that are there.  I guess maybe it's on the machine as a rest to be updated periodically since days Lion... but it also shows that if you can find a copy, you may be able to run on your machine.

    Hi Jlhillhouse,

It is difficult to solve the problems of the computer without knowing all the details. You should look at the link I sent you and especially to Firefox is slow - how to make it faster. I don't know any known issue as you describe, it's probably a very good bet for a response.
