• Removal of the Formats in the dialog box "save under".

  I'll start by saying this is not much more than a minor annoyance, but is it possible to remove or hide formats in the dialog box "save under"?

  In my case I really only use .png, .jpg and .psd. When you browse through the recording process several elements it slows me down to have to scroll through a list of things like the .pxr and .sct which I assume that the vast majority of users never use.

  In the same sense, if I saved the last 20 things like .png, it would be nice if Photoshop fails in .png. Some word processing program takes assumptions like this a bit too far, but I'm all about smart features that save me time on the menial things.

  Keep in mind that you can type the first letter of the type of file once you have activated the selector, which can help you gain access to a particular format.  But yes, I agree it's a bit of a pain to work through the large list that is there.

• Interactive reports - remove alternative reports

  With the help of interactive reports, I created both a main and parallel report. My user needs no long (or wants to) the alternative report to be available in the drop-down list.
  
  Deleting the user created reports seems pretty easy, but I can't find a way to remove the alternative report. I must be missing something.

• Pivot on POV sheet removes the Excel formatting

  When I check "Use Excel formatting" tab display of SmartView 11.1.1.3, I can drill vertically on the dimensions of the spreadsheet and Excel will retain data in digital form.
  
  When I pivot a dimension on the sheet of the POV, the formatting is removed.
  
  This is by design, is this a bug or I still do something stupid? My experience suggests the last, but you never know.

  This is normal. Formatting is not retained on a pivot.

• Adjustment for PhotoShop CS6 remove the new format 'dark '.

  I have a vision disorder and use ZoomText to activate my ability to work.  I was appalled to discover that the new format PhotoShop CS6 is so dark. the menus and tools have very little contrast.  It is a deal-breaker for me, I can't use it as it appears the first opening.  Is there a setting I can change that will allow PhotoShop to appear more like older versions where the lightness and contrast of the program itself?

  You can choose between different levels of brightness of the user interface in the preferences.

  OK so I accidentally erased my entire operating system off my flag 11 x 2 model f5w69ua # #aba.
  You may be wondering how. Heres how. I had, I had a ububtu live cd boot on external hard drive. I went to install it on the hard drive and installed by mistake on my Pavilion. (Yes I messed up bad). in any case, I wanted to restore windows. My friends and my father told me to delete everything off the drive and evil be able to retrieve it from the bios. Unfortunately, I don't have manually remove ubuntu I formatted the disk. My computer came with a cd of windows. Why? I do not know. I bought from qvc.
  Anyway, after this massive destruction of my bones, I try to boot from a disk hard drive/ext for external usb/cd / even a mico SD. Nothing works. Nothing appears in the Boot Manager. Absolutely nothing. Ive had the correct and secure command boot boot. All that needs to be done, but it doesn't recognize anything. He constantly gives me "boot device not found" without even checking for one.
  
  All checks of system diagnostics pass with gusto. This isn't my material.
  I already ordered a m2 to sata adapter to install my os manually from another computer.
  Its going to be 20 days to get here. Thought maybe there is a fix for this before he gets here.

  Resolved:

  When starting laptop it would not check for anything boot from.
  It turns out that by pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE will force the bios to refresh and search for an available boot manager.

  moral of the story is, if all else fails. try CTRL-ALT-DELETE.

  Normally when you reinstall XP from scratch, there is a stage where the hard drive is formatted before that XP is installed on the drive.  There is usually an option for a 'rapid' or full format.  If you suspect disk problems, then make sure to specify the full format.  It will take more time but it will take bad sectors that might be present on your drive.

  I'm not quite sure what you mean.

  An upgrade installation effectively removes all the evidence that it was the previous operating system. If the previous license was an OEM one, it remains valid for this computer, in case you want to revert to the original OS.

   

  If the previous operating system was a retail one, it is part of the upgrade and can be used either in another installation on this machine or on another machine, unless the upgrade is removed (i.e. formatted), date on which the license is released and made available again.

  I got a 1 TB hard drive I have that I took on a CCTV DVR. Before I removed it I formatted in the DVR. Unfortunately, I forgot that the DVR is running linux.

• Remove the imported chips and replace them by paragraph Style

  I imported a large number of documents to PDF and I need to remove the text format for the numbering of lettering and balls and replace them with paragraph styles. I find it difficult to arrive at a text or grep search and replace for it.

  Good question! Can anyone chime in with the 1-step process, but it is darn fast than two, especially if you save the first query:

  • Search: Bullet tab
  • Change of: Para style balls
  • All changes

  

  • Click on the trash can to delete the paragraph style
  • All changes

  With GREP, you might find one or several characters followed in a tab at the beginning of a paragraph (^. + ^ t) to locate any list, but you would need to set the style of bullets to bullets, the style of numbering of numbers and the AlphaNumbering style to the letters, so I don't see a benefit.

• How to turn off the manual formatting in HR 11?

  The only thing I have found so far is educating users not to use these features. And I have a script to remove any line formatting, but this isn't a real solution.

• Invalid character import format

  I accidentally created an import with a format & who's bad character for FDM. It allow me to create the import format, but now I get an error page whenever I try to access the Import Format screen. This prevent me to remove the problematic import format. I tried to export import formats, remove the bad in the file xml and re - import but it did not work.

  The only way to solve this problem is directly in the database.

  There is no workaround available via the web or at the bench.

• Can I Auto format the first paragraph on each page of a document of 20 pages?

  So, I have a document that is in fact just a numbered list of 200 entries.

  There are 10 items per page, which makes it a 20 page document.

  Unfortunately, from time to time I give myself an extra entry to add, whose invariaby is in the middle of the document and not at the end.

  What I would do, if I add a new #20 to the document, the old #20 (now #21), pushed to the next page, would then automatically be formatted with the paragraph style to my 'Style'.

  I could not find out how to do this, which means, in the above example, I need to go to 18 pages and remove the 'Style' formatted as in each case after the addition, it is now the second entry on the page. At the same time, I must apply the paragraph 'Style' formatting for each first entry of all subsequent pages. If I only had to do from time to time, it would not be a problem, but this document is regularly updated, it becomes tedious.

  Nested styles does not seem to be an option, because I use the numbering that requires a paragraph break to differentiate each line number and nested styles seem to apply to each paragraph, except if I am doing something wrong here.

  You say that the formatting is different for each paragraph 20, reagardless of its content, and it is going to be the first paragraph on a page to go?

  As long as never depart you from the cycle 20 paragraph that it's actually pretty easy to do, just 20 paragraph styles, of which 19 are based on the other and differ only in the name of style. You then together "next" style attributes to run through the list of styles, then the following style for #20 is #1 and the sequence starts over. Now just select the entire block of text between the point where you have edited at the end and click right on the name of the TSRI in selecting paragraph style, then in the menu popup, choose apply and following Style.
