6 Windows 10 Lightroom problem... Photo write-protected? Or what the problem?

I have several problems with my 6 Lightroom (10 Windows) when I try to use the Collection of NIK from Google for editing:

  • When I right click on the image in Lightroom, there are three options, basically edit a copy or the original file. I can't edit a copy of an image, only the original file. When I try to edit a copy "/... / JPG cannot be opened because it does not exist or access denied."
  • When I try to change the original file: first of all, there is a warning that the photo is "write-protected", but I can go forward from that and edit the file in Dfine2 for example. But when the file is changed and I want to save there is another error. "Cannot write the file. Please make sure that the file is not protected in writing and that you have sufficient access to the file. »

When I look at the photo on my computer it isn´t write protected?

What the problem?

To verify permissions in Windows (10):

Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the records to check

Right-click on a folder and select [Properties] from the drop-down

Select the Security tab.

Highlight an item in the Panel [of group or user names:]

Search in the permissions area below to check.

You need to 'Total control' verified 'on' for three user names: name, SYSTEM and administrators.

Repeat verification for each folder you want to use with Lightroom.

    Hello

    1. Are you having the same problem, if you connect the USB to different computer?
    2. Are you having the same problem if you connect different USB key to your computer?
    3. What is the brand and model of the pen driver?
    4. Have you tried making the virus for USB scan?

Write protection is a feature found on many different types of media. When the write protection is turned on, you will be able to view the information on the disc or USB key, but you won't be able to write or transfer information to it.

Write protection is an element of protection which prevents accidental deletion of important data. Sometimes turning off the write protection is as simple as uncapping the USB key to find a manual switch. If your player lacks an external switch, the procedure requires a few steps to complete.

    (a) turn on your computer and plug the drive after that your operating system is loaded.

    (b) open 'My computer' and the list of readers of research until you find your USB drive letter

    (c) right click on the name, then click 'properties '. Browse the tabs until you see the option to remove the write protection. If this does not work, proceed to the next step.

    (d) visit the website of the company for your USB key. Go to the help or support section and search for "write protect".

    (e) search the Internet for software that will remove the write protection. Download the program and install it on your computer.

    (f) open the software. Follow the instructions to remove your USB write protection.

I also suggest you analyze your USB key with the Microsoft Safety Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: While running scan on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when scanning try to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

    Hello

This problem normally occurs when there are files that are infected by viruses.

    Method 1:

Run a scan antivirus on your computer.

    www.Microsoft.com/Security/Scanner

Note: If infections are detected during the scan, there is a risk of data loss because infected files will be deleted.

    Method 2:

You also try to run the uninstaller to complete tool to remove traces of antivirus Trend.

    http://eSupport.trendmicro.com/solution/en-us/1056551.aspx

    Check the issue.

    Method 3: Clean boot

If the problem persists, you can place the computer in a clean boot.

Put the computer in a State of boot is a way to know which application is causing this problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

Step 1: Follow the steps in the link below to do the same thing:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as shown here:

Step 2: To configure Windows to use a Normal startup state

After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    a. Click Start and then click Run.

    b. type msconfig and click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    c. click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    d. When you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Hope this information helps. Response with status so that we can help you.

  • "Impossible to copy the name of the file: access is denied." Make sure that the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use. »

I move the data because a Trojan horse snuck in.  I killed the Trojan horse by setting the drive as external and scanning.  However, I could no longer connect to the formerly infected drive. It hangs at the Welcome screen.  So I load XP Pro on another drive and set the old drive as external. I now see data, but get the "Access denied" message that will let me copy the data.

Or I have to be able to release the data to the new drive or access the old disk by booting to XP.  Now I can't do either.

I tried to get XP on the old drive, but the Trojan horse seems to have changed the password admin. I then tried to erase the password using a Linux boot disk and it showed the account unlocked, but I always block to the Welcome screen.

Ideas appreciated.  I can't move forward until I can get the data off. THX K.

  • I got an avast! cautionary statement regarding a windows tmp file. Can someone tell me what the file is for?

    • The program is: C:\WINDOWS\Installer\MS1306.tmp
    • System resources: Services and drivers
    • Target object: \REGISTRY\MACHINE\System\... Beginning
    • Request forwarded: C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe

I NEVER use IE, but had to install IE8 (he hates as much as all other versions, sorry!) for a work related issue (on my PC at home) and I have a feeling is something pertaining to this, but of course cannot find anything safe.

    Thank you!

By convention/common agreement, files with extension tmp are temporaty. That is to say, they are created by an application for its own use and are intended to be removed when this use is over. These files are usually deleted by the application until the application ends.

In all cases, it should cause no problems to delete all these files.

I was not very fond of IE 8. I like much better IE 9. The most recent Firefox is OK, I think.

  • Fax and Scan Error - Message could not be sent. Media is write protected

I have a PC with Windows Vista Ultimate on it.  Turns off user access control.  On the sign as Admin will have all the rights.

Windows Fax and Scan works very well for a long time.  Had a modem comes to shove, he replaced everything works fine.

In the last day or two - with no known changes to the system - the system is no longer send and receive faxes.

It gives me an error-"message could not be sent.  the media is write protected. »

This happens if I try to send a fax directly from the Windows fax software or if I try to "print" a document by fax.

When you receive a fax - it gives a similar error.

It works as records receive faxes are unalterable and, if I look at their properties in Explorer.  I try to uncheck Read-only and it acts like it works only when I get back - read-only is still selected.

Other times I tried to make changes to access to the files by Windows Fax, fax settings - but it tells me that I have to be logged on as administrator to make these changes and I signed up as an administrator - the only Director on the PC.

I also removed the Fax profile and recreated.  I think that the question is the property read-only on my directory of fax, but for some reason that seems locked on.

I also shot the back, rebooted, turned off UAC back, rebooted and tried to change the settings of RO, no luck.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Read-only for folders is normal (mine are).  See if this fix works for you:

Thanking you in advance for trying to help.

    Hi Hari,

Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum. I will definitely help you with this.

    I would like to know;

    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    2. Do you have any pending updates?

This happens usually if the SD card is locked. You can try the methods below and check.

Method 1: Unlock the memory card.

There is a switch lock on the left side of the SD card. Make sure the lock switch is dragging up (unlock position). You will not be able to edit or remove content on the card if it is locked.

If the problem persists, follow method 2.

Method 2: Remove the write protection depends on the source of the problem.

The SD card has a tab on the side write protection which slipped down. This can happen when the card is inserted in the computer. Try to remove the card, push the rear tab in place and try to insert into the computer again. Read the manual provided with the SD card to help.

If the problem persists, follow method 3.

    Method 3:

    a. Insert the memory stick into the computer

    b. go to desktop and under the gaze of devices with removable storage for your card reader

    c. right-click on it, and then click Properties

    d. in the pop up box, sometimes there is an option to remove the write protection. Change the State of this option, and then try again.

For more information, see the link:

Please post back with the results and the information requested, we will be happy to help you further.
