6420 NVidia nvs 4200 removal

Is it possible to remove the NVidia cards?  It is the origin of the problems in our agency.

Not physically, no: it's a chip that is soldered to the motherboard, not a card.

It can be disabled in the configuration of the system or Device Manager, however.

  • Reference Dell E6420 Quad Core overheating with nvidia NVS 4200 M graphics card

It started when I tried to use the nvidia card with Solaris 11.1.  He throws a thermal cut-out in about 10 minutes in a chest cold or hot.

So I restarted to Windows 7 and found a program of monitoring temperature CPU and a GPU temperature monitoring program.

The temperature of the CPU never changes, but if I do something that requires 3D graphics, then, the temperature begins to the North and never goes back down.  In a few minutes it will get to the point where you can either close the browser displaying a rendered 3D object or the unit will turn off.

What's the best way to handle this.  I have seen all update the BIOS, I to the latest version of 21 or using various blocks or shims to replace the fan in a dual channel instead of single channel.  No replacement should not be carried out under warranty?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alan

Repair under warranty out and replaced the motherboard and the fan.  They had to replace the fan twice for the first time, she didn't have the thermal pad for the GPU.  The other and it is now a cool laptop.

  • Impossible to tell if Nvidia NVS is really used

I have a laptop Latitude E6420. He says that he has both Intel integrated HD video 3000 w / 64 M and Nvidia NVS 4200 M. New install of win7-64. I tried to install the driver NVidia dell. He said he video driver intel needed first. Very well done. The NVidia driver then went into a fine. Device Manager now shows the two, first Intel. If I go to the screen resolution, advanced computer says that my video is Intel HD 3000 w / 64 m. The NVidia present in Device Manager, but not clear, it does nothing. If I dig deeply real in the news from Nvidia, I find it says that it has 512M dedicated mem. But this weird mixture of info confused me. Is in fact running Nvidia or Intel integrated video made for? (Bios gives no option that affects this.)

Answered my own question. The bios has an option for nvidia Optimus technology. It turns out that that is the ability to use graphics from intel for most things and only kick in graphics from nvidia, the need, thus saving power.

  • Workstation HP Z230: how to disable NVIDIA NVS 315 to use integrated DP and DVI ports

My HP Z230 workstation was equipped with Windows 7 and an NVIDIA NVS 315 video card.  This card works satisfactorily; However, I recently acquired a monitor Asus PB287Q Ultra high definition (4K), capable of a resolution of 3840 X 2160 pixels.  The NVIDIA card DVI by default generates a graph of the 1920 x 1200 resolution. Therefore, I can't take full advantage of the ability of 4K of my new monitor.

I tried to uninstall the NVIDIA card to force the PC to recognize the video hardware on the motherboard, but none of the monitors connected to the RFP or DVI ports displays video information.  In other words, my PC recognizes that the NVIDIA card (when connected) and nothing else.

What should I do?  I'm a LabVIEW programmer and a 4K display is a tool powerful graphics-oriented environments.  Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your reply, Paul.  I tried what you mentioned, but could not get DP working out until I went to the HP Driver download site and downloaded the Z230 Intel graphics drivers: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5367828 & swLangOid = 8 & swEnvOid = 4060

Now I have a total of 5 outputs (2 DP and 3 DVI) video! I don't have to remove the NVIDIA cards and I full resolution 4K on the outputs video of DP!  Can not be more happy with my output video.  Now the problem is to convince my supervisor that five monitors high resolution are better than one (not-a-chance).  :-)  Once again, thank you.

  • Toshiba will be updating video driver from Nvidia NVS 2100 M for Tecra S11?

Toshiba will be updated driver Nvidia NVS 2100 M of S11?

My S11 machine is almost 3 years old. In the first year there was a lot of update for the drivers, but last year 1 there is no update.

Official website of nvidia, there is a driver download page, but if I install the last driver - no matter that one - I have several video driver related issue. So I downgrade to the Toshiba nvidia driver.
    I'll try this one
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/Quadro-notebook-WIN8-Win7-WinVista-64bit-310.90-WHQL-driver-all.html

If nvidia or toshiba will update the video driver?

To be honest I don t think that Toshiba will offer updates for older models of laptops.

As you probably know Toshiba offers modified and tested the drivers so it will be interesting to know what kind of problems you have with the NVIDIA driver.

  • Someone at - he had or having problems with getting nVidia NVS 450 working resolution?

    Hi all

We got a new C20 with a nvidia NVS 450 card - and a $ monitor. The C20 has Windows 7 preinstalled; the out-of-the-box resolution is 640 x 480 and we couldn't make it go higher than that! The $ and the video card are connected via the DisplayPort cable that came with the unit. After you have reinstalled the video card driver that comes with the unit (on a CD containing drivers for Windows and Linux), we could never get to go beyond 640 x 480 resolution. We left thinking that it must be a quirk with Windows 7. We were going to install Linux on the C20 anyway, so we moved on this.

We installed Fedora 14 (64-bit) install the video driver nvidia who was on the CD and cannot get the display resolution greater than 640 x 480. After a few days of tests n errors referring to various online forums, we have successful get resolution up to 800 x 600, but not the expected 1900 - something resolution the $ and video card holders.

Someone at - he had problems with getting the resolution of the video card to work? If so, were you able to solve the problem? We thought we would start here instead to call Lenovo support first, because usually technical questions, we get smarter than over-the-phone responses. Also, waiting for answers on a forum is less frustrating than the vote by phone.

    Chris

    Thank you for your response.

I had the chance to get their hands on another monitor, and when I plugged that, I got the full resolution. After a lot of testing, I decided that it was a faulty monitor and it had nothing to do with the video card. I finally got a replacement screen for the one who wasn't giving me the full resolution.

Subsequently, I went ahead and got the latest drivers nvidia on their Web site. Everything works fine now.

  • Impossible to get resolution of 2560 x 1440 on external monitor on T410 with Nvidia NVS 3100 M

I have a T410 with Nvidia NVS 3100 M with the driver version 189.55 connected to the external Acer monitor capable of 2560 x 1440, connected with DisplayPort cable. But, I can't get higher than 1920 x 1080 resolution. What should I do?
    Thank you

I was using DisplayPort, but it made no difference. Finally, when I've updated my driver Nvidia lenovos site, it worked perfectly. Thank you

  • Help, audio stop working in XW6600 with nVidia NVS 315 graphics card

    Greetings:

I just buy a renovated, XW6600 Xeon dual processor, 8 GB of RAM, Windows 7 Professional 64 bit system.  The PC comes with a nVidia NVS 290 graphics card.  Everything works fine and the speaker in the motherboard Jack produces sounds.  However, when I change the NVS 290 with a NVS 315 (it is a HP spare part), the sound stops working.  The speaker in the systray icon has a red circle with an "x" in it.  If I right click on the speaker, the playback device, it shows two TV as icon one above the other with a red arrow pointing down and a description on the righ side saying "Digital Audio (HDMI) high definition Audio Device not connected.   I have the same result in 64-bit Windows 8.1.  The problem is solved if I reinstall the NVS 290.  For both cards, I use the latest driver from nVidia.  Am I missing something?

Any help to solve this problem is greatly appreciated.

    Hello:

When you install new video card, it must have a HDMI on it audio chip and what happens, is that the BIOS has disabled the integrated audio system thinking not only have you installed a video card, but you have installed a map audio too.

Then, go into the BIOS, probably in the Advanced menu, the options menu, you will find onboard audio setting.

It will be set to Disabled. Set to active, save the setting it by hitting the F10 key and again when you go out (save the settings and exit).

When you restart, the integrated audio system should be back.

No triple monitor supports, sorry to say. You can have 2 of the 3, but not all 3 at the same time. The only way to do it is to get something like a USB to HDMI adapter to add the third screen.

  • Dell T3600, card Nvidia NVS 510 Quad...

Hi, updated the video card to an Nvidia NVS 295 (dual) to the NVS 510, one card four. Four identical LCD, Dell U2410, (1920 x 1200). I have all the DVI cables, but they are not the same cables, but all are DVI. The NVIDIA NVS 510 has four connectors Compact Mini DisplayPort (mDP). So far, all is well... However, my workstation Dell (T3600) sees the two monitors. I used the Nvidia Control Panel, Microsoft screen resolution (right click on the desktop to bring up), still not able to get all four monitors going. I have two years of my Dell warranty, but since I did not buy the video card in Dell left, it does not cover this new card. Any suggestions? Thank you. PS Site a link FRO of Nvidia

Has taken care of this problem myself... Disconnected from everything. Reset the graphics card. And when I plugged back it it, it worked! (I spent several hours one afternoon trying to find the problem). All's well that ends well! :)

  • e6530 with Nvidia NVS 5200 m - no HDMI sound

Hi guys, I'm trying to get HDMI sound through my e6530 with a Nvidia NVS card 5200 m.

I plug in the cable to the TV and get perfect video, but the sound is only through the laptop.

I looked a bit around solutions and most people suggest go to audio playback and HDMI audio setting as a default, but I have no audio HDMI or anything to that effect in my reading of the sound menu.  I also checked as well "show disabled devices" and "show disconnected devices" and the only thing that 'Speakers/headphones' I see 'helmet of Communication '.   I tried to activate "helmet of communication" also and set it as a default value, but which does not work either.

One possibility is that the card does not support HDMI audio, but I can't find information on that.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Sorry Ulf... I downloaded the video driver from Nvidia site... NOT the Dell Web site.

    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290 graphioc card (KG748AA) is compatible with HP 6200 P MT i3 2100 (xy101EA)?

    Hello:

Here is the link for your PC quickspecs:

    http://h18000.www1.HP.com/products/QuickSpecs/13880_na/13880_na.PDF

See the list of video cards supported on page 13.

The NVS 295 is supported in all models.

If the NVS 290 has similar specs/power requirements, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

  • The NVIDIA NVS 3100 m driver update

Microsoft Update recommend an update "in option Nvidia 3100 M driver".  The last update crashed my WIN7 64 bit system analysis "that crashed" requiring a full system restore & restore to the original 3100 M version 188.98.  Someone had problems with the version published in November 2010 and recommended as an update.

    Hi JumpingThruHoops,

When Windows update offers any updated driver device, they are all optional, which means that they are not important or recommended.

All the drivers that are released through Windows update are provided by the manufacturer of the device.

For more information on the November published the version that you can contact Nvidia support.
