Security Update for Windows (KB2416400) error 80092004
When you apply the update of security for Windows (KB2416400) via windows update, I get error 80092004, any idea why? It is a windows 7 X 64 system, no RC SP1 installed.
Guys I think that I've sorted, do the following
Step 1: Rename the Windows Update temporary folder
======================================
1. close all open windows.
2. click on the "Start" button, click "All programs" and click on "Accessories".
3. right click on "Command prompt" and click "run as Administrator".
4. in the window "Administrator: command prompt", type "net stop WuAuServ" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
Note: Please, look at the cmd window and make sure that it is said that he was arrested with success until we try to rename the folder. However, if it failed, please let me know before you perform other measures and include any error messages you may have received when it failed.
5. click on the button 'Start' in the 'Search' box type "%windir%" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
6. in the opened folder, find the folder named "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution".
7. right click on the folder, select "Rename" and type "SDold" (without the quotes) to rename this folder.
8. still in the window "Administrator: command prompt", type the command "net start WuAuServ" (without the quotes) in the opened window to restart the service Windows updates.
After the steps above, we will check and install updates by using the following methods.
Step 2: How to upgrade in Windows
==========================
1. click on the "Start" button, click "All programs" and click on "Windows Update".
2. in the left panel, click "Search for update".
3. If an update is provided, please click the button "Install updates" to install it.
Thanks for all your help and your comments,

Windows updates failed to install with error code '80092004' and ' 80246007".
original title: How do I know if Internet Explorer 9 is installed correctly or not?
According to the history of my update, IE put 9 updated (?) correctly installed in July 2011.
However, I have several entries after this date for updates failed. There are 2 error codes: 80092004 and 80246007.
The version I have on my laptop is still IE 8.
I don't use IE very often but would get updated and stop doing the update failed messages.
I should try a manual download and install or is there a better alternative?
Thank you.
Hello
Failed updates are all related to IE 9.
I followed the two links you posted above. I have run windows update fixit, who said it was successful. I then tried to install IE9 on my update list, and there no, same error code: 80092004.
I tried a manual install. That failed too.
As usual with a microsoft update failure I now long in circles. When I click on a screen to learn more about the failure, or click to learn more about the error code, I headed for the same items, the same solutions, that do not work.
Since I use IE as seldom as I can, I'll stay with IE 8 and hide the update to IE 9. This seems the best solution to get out of my hair.
Thank you for your interest.

Error 80092004 the installation of security update KB2868623
Last weeks security update refuses to end. I am running MS Vista (Build 6002:Service Pack 2). None of the solutions bit that I found here have the situation corrected. I have the computer practice secure and therefore don't see any obvious reason, I should find the difficulty with this installation on this laptop. I'm open to suggestions...
Hi, JHFriedman,
Try this troubleshooting Windows Update tool

This problem may be caused by one of the following factors:
1. installation is affected by some third-party security software.
2. the downloaded installation file is corrupted.Temporarily disable the firewall and AV software
Step 1: Rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution Windows Update
================================================
This problem may occur if the Windows Update Software distribution folder has been damaged. We can refer to the following steps to rename this folder. Please note that the file will be re-created the next time we visit the Windows Update site.1. close all open windows.
2. click on 'Start', click on "All programs" and click on "Accessories".
3. right click on "Command prompt" and click "run as Administrator".
4. in the window "Administrator: command prompt", type "net stop WuAuServ" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.Note: Please look at the cmd window and make sure that it is said that he was arrested with success until we try to rename the folder. However, if it fails, please let me know before you perform other measures and include any error messages you may have received when it failed.
5. click on 'Start' in the 'Search' box type "%windir%" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
6. in the opened folder, find the folder named "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution".
7. right click on the folder, select "Rename" and type "SDold" (without the quotes) to rename this folder.
8. still in the window "Administrator: command prompt", type the command "net start WuAuServ" (without the quotes) in the window to restart the service Windows updates.Note: Please look at the cmd window and make sure that it says it has successfully launched. However, if it fails, please let me know before you perform other measures and include any error messages you may have received when it failed.
If the procedure does not work, we will see the next procedure to download and install the update manually.
Step 2: Download and install the update manually

Failure Vista service pack 2 download 80092004 error code
Using MS auto updates, tried to download service pack 2 (41 m) 1/4 full when the error code occurs. Tried several times. restarted the computer and I tried. No luck on the definition of the error code in the database definition of Ms.
I have now once again... am to the point where Microsoft Update wants to install SP2. xxx465 will not install. I had many security measures and reinstalled without any own. I have installed now someone else and can only assume that nothing will install, I will continue to blue screen 1 has and receive Code D trying to continue to SP2. I've heard great things about Windows 7, but I'm personally hesitant because unfortunate information provided me and no solutions on the horizons with regard to Vista, which has been a beta transition sell since 2006.
Would like to have a solution; I would be happy to provide further information as well to help Microsoft these issues with a Dell with NVIDIA and myself throughout for this. All I have seen is multiple captures and I have to fend off a vector I know on port 1434 on the injection of SQL code on a Vista computer (full POSIX on a client = bad idea).
Regarding security, I tried the hardware firewall, and I tried most of the security software for flexible infrastructure.
Microsoft always seems to be M & M security, which means, in particular, that if you passed the material before her or 3rd parties that fix (less pay Microsoft a large part of the money), it is a big failure.

Hi StSz,
1. What is the service pack installed on the computer?
This problem occurs if a previous Windows Update process did not cause the computer to be in a corrupted state. This prevents the installation of any language pack.
I suggest that you reset the Windows Update components and you try to install the pack of language, to check if it works.
How to reset the Windows Update components?

See also the Microsoft article and try the steps mentioned below.
