91z: SSD specifications

Later 91z was released recently.

Model: 1732-B3U

It comes with a 80 GB and a hard drive of 500 GB SSD.

It is said in the notes:

MSATA 80 GB Solid State Drive (SSD), via Mini PCIe card slot

This means that it is external?

# The SSD is actually a mini-pci card girl (as a modem for laptop or wireless card) that mounts directly in a mini-pci on the motherboard slot.

  • Question Capatibility of SSD and size for "HP Pavilion dv7 - 4283cl Entertainment PC" laptop

    Hello

I get a SMART error for my HARD drive and on further analysis, it seems to be of type 'Error of END to END'. Research shows that there is no other choice than to get a new hard drive.

My hard drive is currently 640 MB. I was thinking of doing a 512 MB SSD - specifically:
    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820147194

Before buying, I came across the following excerpt manual from HP on my laptop:

    Double hard drive configurations:
    2 TB (1 TB 5400 RPM × 2)
    1500 GB (× 2 750 - GB, 5400 RPM)
    1280 GB (640 GB, 5400 RPM × 2)
    1000 GB (500 GB, 7200 RPM × 2)
    640 GB (320 GB, 7200 RPM × 2)
    500 GB (250 GB, 7200 RPM × 2)
    SSD 160 GB + 500 GB, 7200 RPM

    Hard drive configurations:
    1 TB, 5400 RPM, 12.5 mm
    750 GB, 5400 RPM, 12.5 mm
    640 GB, 5400 RPM, 9.5 mm
    500 GB, 7200 RPM, 9.5 mm
    320 GB, 7200 RPM, 9.5 mm
    250 GB, 7200 RPM, 9.5 mm
    160 GB, SSD

This is still true. (I think maybe that the manual was conducted before SSD expansion was widely available)

    -Roman

Yes it's not a fair compatibility list a menu of what offered the HP. 512 SSD is still a bit expensive for a lot of people, but if you can afford it, you can be assured that it works perfectly on your laptop. Of course, you want to use in the primary as boot drive Bay to enjoy the performance of the SSD. Enjoy. The Pro 840 is widely regarded as the best SSD you can buy.

  • x 360 s102nu 13: 13-s102nu replacement of Ram and SSD

I can't find the maximum installable Ram or SSD specification for this model.

D and I know if I lose my warranty if I do the replacement.

    Help, please.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 29 for HDD and p. 38 for memory access.

    Maximum memory is 2 x 8 gig DDR3L-1600 modules or 16 concerts.

You can replace the hard drive with a 2.5 inches wide and type of hard drive SSD the SATA 7 or 9.5 mm thick.

Unfortunately, as you can see on the manual, they are not allowed to the end user while keeping the guarantee in place. Also, your model is particularly delicate to work, espescially that memory which requires removal of the motherboard to access.

  • Pavilion DV6-3030SD: Pavilion DV6-3030SD processor and HD upgrade

Hello, I would like to know if I can pass for example the processor of my Pavilion DV6-3030SD with intel i3 M350 2, 27GHz and 2 hearts with every 4 GB of RAM (8GB total). Win10 64-bit is installed and works perfectly.

I don't understand that a change in video (AMD Radeon HD5400) card is not possible. And change the motherboard isn't an option too.

People advised me to change the HD 500 GB SSD to make it faster. Most SSDS are much smaller then my HD. Is it a problem that the quantity of SSD does not have HD? And is there something to check when you change the SSD (specific to my Pavilion)?

    Thanks in advance!

Replace the CPU by the one who has the exact specifications of the Core i7 in the manual is very well. You'll get a noticeable performance gain with the Core i7 CPU. Hyperthreading with hearts more is a good thing.

Upgrading to an SSD will also turn your laptop into a beast.

  • Envy 15-j119so: Envy 15-j119so - cannot install windows 7

Recently replaced the HDD with a SSD drive inventory.

When you try to install Windows 7, I get the error of "CD/DVD drive missing device driver.

I can't find the USB I have Windows installation files on (nothing wrong with USB, it works with all other computers that I used it on).

To make it short: I don't want Windows 8, and I don't want Windows 10.

Linux works very well to install and run, but Windows needs this laptop.

All the drivers are up to date before I replaced the hard drive.

    How should I proceed?

In something similar myself once I copied the windows 7 install files on the hard drive partition, then boot & it will start to install the disc itself, may outweigh the question for you! maybe of the bios & ssd specific or causing the blip!

  • Turn off sync to iCloud drive to specific folders?

I have some files I've downloaded to iCloud Drive, which I rarely opened.

I know than iCloud Drive intelligently synchronizing files that I rarely opened, but is it possible for me to:

    1. mark a specific folder in iCloud drive to not synchronize my devices? I think that this as a feature of "cold storage"?

2 interrupt synchronization to iCloud drive everything as I interrupt iCloud Photos on Mac?

Since I'm in an environment where the internet speed is very limited and I often uses mobile wifi (MiFi) whereby data is very expensive, so I need to manage the synchronization manually by myself. I also want to save precious space on my MacBook Pro SSD, this is why I need this feature of "cold storage" in the cloud.

Note: This tip below might work for the interruption of synchronization, but y at - it another way to interrupt synchronization?

How suspend you iCloud drive sync?  It is using all of my mobile data!

My environment: 13 "2015 retina MacBook Pro installed in El Capitan, iPhone running iOS 9.3.5 6.

    Thank you.

Right now, iCloud drive will be synchronized snapshots of documents and data from your Mac.

macOS Sierra will bring changes to this.  See the preview.   Preview - Apple macOS

You will be able to use "Optimize storage" for iCloud Drive and include your desktop and Documents folder in iCloud drive.  Then you can choose to keep only the document new and used recently, all the old files and data locally in the cloud.

Get ready for the update on 20 September.

  • Questions new installation HD SSD for MacBook Pro

I followed the online instructions how to install the SSD for my MacBook Pro. I then rebooted by Mac in recovery mode and formatted the drive in Mac OS extended (journaled). It was a little bit tricky message sometimes giving such as erasure of disk failures, but eventually it worked. I selected to install the OS on this HD. The image of the OS were first shown on OS X Lion, but my current OS is El Capitan. I just figured that he was installing the original operating system provided with the mac. The installation went well but then we he had finished wen timer back to 1 hour, 46 minutes. He made several times and after 6 hours, I decided to leave and start over. The second time after erasing HD and formatting again the OS that came was El Capitan for installation so I continued. This time, the installation has been completed and at the end says "OS could not be installed on my computer, reboot and try again." On the third attempt has received a similar message from the failed to install ' year error occurred during extraction of the files in the package "Essentials.pkg." " »

Anyone has any idea why this doesn't work or suggestions please?

About 2 months ago I reformatted my HD original as installed latest OS El Capitan as the mac has been slow. Does have a report with questions I get on doing the same thing with another HD?

    What model of MacBook Pro?

    Which SSD model?

    You have another Mac?

    Possible causes:

-Incompatibility of your Mac with this specific SSD. Recently, some users have reported what appears to be these incompatibilities

-You damaged the cable flex between the drive and the system board.  It is a common problem and causes intermittent problems initially and if it's even worse the Mac will see is even more disk

-You have an another hardware problem as RAM bad or other component.

    I'd do it

    -Run Apple Hardware Test

Using Apple Hardware Test - Apple Support

-Connect an external drive and install OSX on this disc and boot from this facility and see if you have any problems

-If you have another Mac download a compatible OS x Installer for the Mac App Store and create a USB bootable using device

    http://liondiskmaker.com/

and install OSX on the SSD.

  • SSD - change Hard Drive to SSD

Hi - I have a MacBook Pro 15 "2011 end and need to know if this model can accept a SSD and the specification of what I should look for if so? Thank you all.

    you don't know.

Use a SATA SSD in a form factor of 2.5 inches, the same as the drive that you delete. Put the new drive in an external enclosure, or use an adapter. Install Mac OS on it first, THEN do the surgery to separate questions of surgery installation problems. Don't pay extra for SATA III 6 GB, because your Mac uses SATA II 3 GB which is well fast enough for most cases. Use your current drive size (and whether that will continue to meet your needs) as a guide, then buy a bigger than that of the road. You won't run out of space and having to redo all this.

This also allows you to use your old drive recovery partition to download and install on the new drive. You could also do a 8GB USB stick using DiskMaker X standalone installer. Such an installation program includes the necessary set of utilities as well.

  • Move SSDS to a MBP to a newer MBP

    I'm looking for a 2008 Macbook Pro 4.1 update 17 "A1261 to a Macbook Pro Unibody 8.2 2011 15" A1286

The 17 "Macbook Pro has an SSD that has a managed installation of OS X El Capitan. Is it possible to remove the 500 GB HARD drive at least 15 "Macbook Pro and replace it with the SSD at 17"?

Will be the OS X installation disk SSD adapt to newer hardware on the 15 "?

It is advisable to do you a clean install to make model mac for the Setup program to identify specific components to the mac during the installation phase and not simply 'swap drive '.

  • Upgrade to SSD for MacBook Pro 13 "(2011)

I want to upgrade to a hard drive SSD for my notebook Early 2011 MacBook Pro.

What are the specifications of the SSD looking?

Is that the kind of 2.5 "(7mm)?"  I was looking at the card SanDisk Ultra II or similar model.

What is the process or the workflow to change SSD?  (he just plug or do I need a prop?)

I backed up my current HARD drive for Time Machine on a G-Drive external hard drive.  Can I restore my backup for the SSD of Time Machine, or are there additional steps?

    Thank you in advance.

Any SSD with a box 2.5 "will be compatible with your MBP.  I recommend OWC SSD or critical based on my experience and other participants of CSA veterans.

Installing the SSD is the same as for a traditional HARD drive.  Watch this video:

    https://eShop.MacSales.com/installvideos/macbookpro_13_unibody_early11_hd/

You must format the SSD in Mac OS extended (journaled) disk utility.  You can use Time Machine to restore your data on the SSD.

    You can follow these guidelines:

  • Replacing the CD/DVD with SSD

Hi, I have a mid-2009 13 "Macbook, and I plan to replace the CD/DVD drive (which it doesn't) with an SSD, instead of replacing it with a new CD player.

I would move so that OSX and software on the new SSD, leaving other data on my main hard drive. I read that the best solution is to install OSX on the SSD from scratch, since migration it seems impossible, but how then I could remove the 'duplicate' old of my HDD main OSX?
The entire migration process is not quite clear to me, I wouldn't mind some step by step instructions.

    Thank you in advance!

1st, I did it on an iMac, so I went through it.

You can use a utility cloning as Carbon Copy clone (demo fully active 1 month) or SuperDuper free (free for a full clone) to move your boot disk for SSD and it will be fully functional.  In my case, I used Carbon Copy Cloner.  It is even technically possible to use the Applications-> utilities-> disk utility-> restoration as a means to clone the drive, but I find it cumbersome.

    <http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html>

    <https://www.bombich.com/>

I think you could also just restore a backup Time Machine for the SSD as well (although I did not do that, so I don't know the details).

You can do a clean install and get rid of any cruft you've accumulated over the years and then install only the stuff that you are currently using.

Or you could do a clean install and then use the Applications-> utilities-> Migration Wizard move above specific categories of files of initial startup disk.

After you have the SSD running with your software on it, consider allowing TRIM

    <http://www.imore.com/os-x-10104-and-trim-support-should-you-turn-it>

I used OWC <http://MacSales.com> kit data-Doubler to replace my iMac DVD by an SSD.  They provided everything I needed.  I chose a kit including the tools I needed.  I also watched the OWC installation videos, as well as on YouTube to become familiar with the installation.  And I had a copy of the instructions to disassembly <http://iFixIt.com> and images to print for reference, while doing the installation.  I would have recorded any screws that I removed the instructions that told me to remove that screw then I would make sure I would put the correct screws into the appropriate holes.
