  I have a Macbook Pro (early 2011) and I would like my mac by installing a SSD 15'. He got a 2 GHz Intel Core i7 processor. My laptop started to slow down a lot and it lags when I use photoshop or when I'm editing videos, so I thought I should spend my hard drive for an SSD. But I don't really know what SSD to buy it.   Currently, the best options are the OCZ ARC-100 series, the 850 series of Samsung (good price on Amazon) and 6G OWCseries. OWC also has tool boxes if you need it and installation tutorials. If you want to keep the HARD drive then you buy one of their media DataDoubler to put the old HDD in the space occupied by the optical drive. It can even include an enclosure for the optical drive.

  How to use an SSD with your HARD drive If you want to use an SSD as boot with your existing HARD disk drive, as the disk 'data', here is what you can do. After installing the SSD, you need to partition and format the SSD using disc utility disc. Then install OS X on the SSD. Once installed OSX boot from SSD. Startup disk preferences to set up the SSD as the boot volume. Open the preferences users and groups. Click the lock and authenticate you. Or CTRL - RIGHT click on your username account list in the sidebar and select Advanced Options in the context menu. You will see a field called "Home dir: ' on the far right, you will see an Edit button. Click on it. In the file dialog box, navigate to the location in house now located on the HARD disk (disk HARD/users/user_name /.) Select the folder, click the Open button. Restart the computer, as shown. When the computer starts, it will now use the home located on the HARD drive folder. It's my preferred approach because I can choose which records of the House, I want to on the HARD drive and I don't want to. For example, I like to keep Documents and library files on the SSD because I frequently access their content.   Any SSD with a box 2.5 "will be compatible with your MBP.  I recommend OWC SSD or critical based on my experience and other participants of CSA veterans.

  Apple batteries will be sold if Apple installs, NOT the user.  If you have a MBP, this is probably the best option because the batteries are pasted into the retina.  If you have a retina no MBP, look at the OWC site for NuPower batteries or search the Internet for brand batteries Anker.  Anything else can be 'high risk' in terms of quality.

  Your service issue is not with Apple as such, but with the store you are dealing with.

  The only option I can suggest id to buy a third-party SSD and install it yourself.  The cost may be less than what you were quoted.

  The Snow Leopard is one of the more stable OS Ive ever used, but you won't have a lot of features.  Mavericks is in the Middle, has more features and is always quite stable. I would, however, try to reinstall El Capitan, or deleting some files to free up space.
