It is usually a remnant of a Windows Update/Microsoft Update or Microsoft patch/installer.  Can usually be removed without any problems, maybe put in the trash for a while first just to be sure.

    There is an easier way. Open a TextEdit document and paste the list in. Place the cursor at the end of the first item and drag it to the start of the second.

    Press on + command + c to copy and then command + f to bring up find it. Press command + v (do not click in the first search field). Check the 'Replace' box, click in the field replace, and then type a comma and a space.

    Click 'All' and then 'done '.

    I found the solution: the add-on "manually sort orders" has been altered after the Thunderbird upgraded. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it and the possibility of local folders on the top worked again.

    What types of files you want to download?
    Have you checked how servers send the files?

    You can rename (or delete) the file mimeTypes.rdf in the profile folder of Firefox to reset all the actions file.

    Thanks for posting, as you might expect, there are troubleshooting you can undertake to check why the download does not work. It is highly possible that the source that you have downloaded from cannot be no longer works. Is there a site that you can check to see if it does not work for them either?     Otherwise please see if scanitemswhendone is enabled: change what Firefox does when you click on or download a file

    If download hangs at the last minute (just before reaching 100%), the cause may be an antivirus software that tries to parse the file and during this process the instance of Firefox crashes.

    To resolve the issue, try disabling the analysis as follows:

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue on the subject: config page. A list of parameters must appear
    3. Filter the list by typing in the search bar at top. Enter scanWhenDone. Now you should find the "browser.download.scanWhenDone" preference.
    4. Double-click this preference to set the value to false.
    5. Then, try to download something and see if it still crashes.
