A hacker took over my computer, mainly my network is controlled by them. How to get rid of it
Original title: Hacker
I let a hacker in my computer, tech support imposter, he took over my computer, mainly my network is controlled by them. I use HP Pavilion Home Premium Windows 7, 64-bit sp2 Server 2008r2. Can someone help please?
Your post is a bit confusing. Windows 7 does not have a "Service Pack 2" and is not the same Windows Server 2008 r2 operating system.
You need to contact all the sites for which you saved in your computer, in particular financial institutions, logon and change your log on credentials.
Backup of all your data first. Also, before the system recovery, use a keyfinder as Magical JellyBean Keyfinder or Belarc Advisor utility to find any product keys/licenses you will need to reinstall your application programs.
Then you must do a clean install of Windows. Because you have a CV, a "system recovery", as described here--> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418
After the system recovery, uninstall any antivirus software free trial using the tool provided by the manufacturer of the antivirus (trial will have expired). For a list of these tools, see http://support.eset.com/kb146/?locale=en_US , then you need to install a good antivirus.
After restoring your backup data, analyze all the files with your antivirus software and a program of quality (such Free MalwareBytes AntiMalware) antimalware software before opening any files.
Finally, reinstall your application programs from your original installation media (CD/DVD/downloaded the Installer).

someone took over my computer as an administrator
someone took over my computer as an administrator
My God, I need to print out to take with me to the store
But I appreciate you gave me a lot of informationI have not bought a wireless router because I said he did not but I also sit in my home and watched someone to connect to a neighbors wireless router just to show me how easy it is
I was stunned and turned them off
I was horrifiedWindows firewall never seems to find whatever it is and never seems to get rid of something
I have the scanner and then run Norton and Norton found malware
Whoever it is that hacks changed me the windows settings and it turned off so I don't have a lot of confidence in itWhat will happen if I put the security systems that you recommend and add the Norton harder
Wireless routers are great - if you set them right. Password protect, Protocol, WPA2.
Windows Firewall is not an antivirus. It prevents people/computers to connect remotely to your computer without your permission. I'd be willing to bet your firewall disabled Norton - as he was probably 'Internet Security' and not only an Antivirus product (one of the "suites" I mentioned, I would avoid.)
You want to only running antivirus software.

my media center to windows took over my computer
I ACCIDENTALLY DOWNLOADED THE WRONG THING AND NOW I CAN NOT GET WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER TO STOP IT TOOK ON MY DESKTOP ALL
I accidentally downloaded the wrong thing and now I can not get windows media center to stop it took on my desktop all
From what you have stated above, I think that the file association for LNK files has been given misdirection to the Media Center. I've seen this happen when opening a program via a shortcut (for example. LNK file), you are asked what type of program to open it with. After selecting the Windows Media Center (or another program) via the Select a program from a list of programs installedand check always use the selected program to open this type of file (circled in red below), the document or program referenced by the shortcut of origin opens in Windows Media Center as it should. The problem is that now all shortcuts (for example. LNK files) on the desktop or in the browser will want to be opened by Windows Media Center and Windows Media Center icon to view the shortcut no matter what shortcut was originally intentioned to open. This is known as a file association and the default icon. The same condition can occur if you have performed these actions 'Open with' on one. JPG or even a. EXE, but the. LNK explanation is much more likely for the items on the desktop.
The good news is that a small free utility was written to cancel the. LNK file association was created. There is also a registry hack to achieve, but I recommend the utility unAssoc for its ease of use. I used to send people on another site to download this utility, but this site has become confused with all the ads and fake download links. I put a copy on by SkyDrive own here.
Just download, then use the utility to unassociate the. LNK files for the user or globally delete the file type and let windows rebuild a new default.
