A .pdf file splitting

I use a trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.  I'm trying to split a document into two separate .pdf .pdf.  The new .pdf are created, but when I try to open them, I get this message:

Any ideas?

Try another method of separation, such as the creation of a copy and deletion of pages, you don't want.

    Took a while to get here. Try using the PDF reader.

    If the files try to open it with Adobe, create a file association.

    Right-click on the file.
    Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.

  • New files created when to split a PDF file using the Adobe SDK are much higher than expected

    Hello. I use the kit Adobe SDK to split large PDF into a set of small PDF files, using a set of page ranges. I created 2 PDDocs.  One is for the original PDF, which I open it.  In the other, I insert a range of pages of the original.  I'm doing this for each set of pages.

    objPDDocNew.InsertPages (-1, objPDDoc, startPage - 1, lngPageCount, 0)

    It works fine, except that the combined size of the smaller PDF files is 10 or more times the size of the original PDF file! Y at - it an explanation for that? Y at - it a setting that I can put to reduce the size of the output files? I run my program of my Windows 7 desktop that has Adobe Acrobat XI. Thanks for any help you can provide.

    You can get an idea on what elements are the use of how much space in the PDF file by opening the various Acrobat Pro files, and then select file > save as other > optimized PDF - then click on the "Use of space Audit" button in the upper right corner of the dialog box that opens. When you compare the use of the space of your source files with the file target that you can discover what is causing the increase in the size.

  • How to split pdf files web analytics data?

    I've set up a web analytics on pdf files, but all texts are grouped in the endeca_document_text field. Anyone could extract metrics and texts separately from this? For example, in the endeca_document_text field:

    Example for OTN

    Day 13/06/13

    Comments it's my comment. blah blah.

    Product Code GSF0120

    Is what I'm aiming first to short to recognize who is the 'Date' / 'Comments' / 'Product Code' separately, and then rotate the according to the title of the document "example for OTN"? This is possible please?

    Any ideas on where to start would be great

    Thank you!

    You have a few options here.

    (1) use the analysis tool file for the system rather than the crawler.  It's been a while but I think it extracts metadata more cleanly as the crawler and you should be able to get the title and Date as individual properties (assuming that PDF files are correctly tagged)

    (2) write something kt (Parse for Web Crawler, manipulative recording filter to a Crawl file) that will extract the text value.

    (3) use an integrator to extract the value to your hose using the RegEx text tag or something more sophisticated you make yourself (whether in Java or CTL).

    Hope that helps,

  • How to split a PDF file with pages to single pages spread?

    Hello

    We received a little booklet from a client wich no spread pages (sorry if this is the wrong term, I mean to and for pages like the 2 and 3 were merged to a page in the PDF file).  Our printer does not spread pages accept what we had to do were to do a 40 page document in InDesign with facing pages, then place pages from the upper left corner of the pages even if it "stretched" in the next few pages.  Then we could just export ourselves and get the pages as single pages.

    My question is: are there at - it a way to make it fast and easy in Acrobat (or if not possible InDesign in Acrobat)? With a clever solution or maybe a script? :...

    We were lucky because the brochure contained only 40 pages, but what happens if someone sent us a record of 400 pages, it would take a lot of time. I read somewhere that you can duplicate each page and then harvest by hand, but which will not be effective or accurate, nor time.

    Thanks in advance for any help

    As you only need the PDF for printing, you can refry it in Acrobat format (not something we generally advise but in this case...)

    Open the Acrobat print dialog box, and then select the Adobe PDF printer. Click Properties, make sure that you use a print setting high quality and the right destination paper size (for example to portrait A4 if your original has spread A3).

    Under management of the Page, choose "All the pages of tiles", 100% scale and zero overlap. Uncheck the marks and labels and print the file to a new PDF. You will lose any layers, forms, scripts etc. but you their lost anyway with your inDesign workaround. Be sure to check that the fonts are embedded in the final document if you print via a commercial SCAM.

    Note that if the PDF is secured to prevent changes / page extraction, the choice of tile on the handling of the print dialog Page list is unavailable even if the PDF file has permissions to print - Acrobat must play the content on the page to perform arrangements of the 'mosaic', as some page objects will cross the line of cut It has an unsecured file to work on.

  • How can I create an external link to a specific page within a PDF file? Can I create an anchor?

    I have a PDF file that contains multiple items. Currently, I have to split the file in many others, so I can link directly to the desired article. How can I create an anchor to point directly to the desired page/section? Is this possible?

    If it is for use in a browser, you will find that what works for some will not work with others. When Acrobat/Reader is used as a plug-in, it can work to create a link to the page numbers and named destinations (that you're an anchor), but other browsers that use a built-in PDF reader may not support it. Here is an article that should help you: Planet PDF - link to Pages or Destinations in PDF files

  • How to export multiple layers to separate PDF files?

    I just upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite and all my CC Adobe until 2015. So far I love it, but I have a nagging problem: export layers to separate PDF files.

    My file has 38 layers, each of them must be separated in PDF format, so I use the script that is embedded in SaveDocsAsPDFs. The first time I run it, it ends up split on most files, but not all, so I thought I'd run it once again: no chance. Whenever I run the present, he eventually put all the active layers in a pdf from single page instead of save them as individual PDF files. I've spent the better part of two hours online hunting and are all I can find third-party scripts that actually do what I need, rather than use the builtin scripts.

    Is there a way someone can help me with this problem? I'll have much, much more files like that and I would use the original if possible script. It is everything on a Mac. Specs below.

    Mac Pro

    Quad-Core Intel Xeon

    3.2 GHz

    32 GB

    The SaveDocsAsPDFs allows to save multiple documents open simultaneously in artificial intelligence to separate files. He doesn't have layers in separate documents. You can use one of the scripts that you got to do what you want.

    Using Adobe XI how to cut a paper upwards into smaller sections to return?  Tools, options Pages does not appear.

    Hi kellyk69106521,

    I can help you with that.

    To split a PDF file, you will need to use Acrobat. If you do not have Acrobat, please do not hesitate to give it a try. You can download the trial of 30 days from this page: Download Adobe Acrobat free trial version | Acrobat Pro DC

    In Acrobat DC, you use the Pages organize to extract pages or split the document into single pages. (In earlier versions, you will find the tools in the Pages pane in the tools Panel.)

    Please follow the steps in the KB doc.  Acrobat Help. Rotate, move, delete and renumber PDF pages

    In case if you encounter a problem, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

    No, you buy Acrobat to be able to do. The free Player cannot perform these editing tasks.

  • Export epub and MultiPage PDF file

    Hello

    When I import several page of a MultiPage PDF file in a document then I export to ePub FixedLayout, the epub file always displays the first page of the PDF while the document points to the different pages.

    Is this a bug in indesign or is there another manipulation to do? Thank you.

    This is a bug/limit known at this stage. The work around until we do is split the PDF file into several files and place each page separately.

  • insertPage RaiseError: an incorrect structure found in the PDF file

    Hello

    I am trying to create a button script that will create a new document, copy (insert) on the first page of the open document, save it, and then close it.  I think the part where it becomes difficult - and perhaps not feasible - is that the original document (source) using a model; plenty of form fields to be laid off as the new pages.

    In view of the above, ideally, the form user can click on the 'save a new page' button: it creates anj Inserted a copy of the first page of the form, free of content though everything has been registered, and excluding all other pages that may have been created.

    With the code that I use, it is currently creating the copy of the page and inserts it as the zeroeth page (in front of a blank page, I intend to add the code later to remove) and saves it.  However, there are some problems that arise with it.  First is the error code that is displayed in the debugger:

    RaiseError: An incorrect structure found in the PDF file

    New Doc.insertPages:29:AcroForm:Save form: Annot1:MouseUp:Action1

    = > An incorrect structure found in the PDF file

    Despite the error, he always saves the page (copy of the form) as mentioned above.  However, if you try to start working with him, he lets you know that there is no form field in the document (even if they are all there and apparently functional).   When I think of edit fields, it will ask if you want to try to recognize the fields.  If I click 'Yes', he said it was impossible, but then the form opens with all corresponding perfectly to the original domain names.  If I click on 'none' he just open the page with all the fields match again.  So I feel like I'm close to being able to do that!

    I use the following code to produce my results:

  • Show the name of file in PDF file

    Hi, hoping for help on what I think is quite a simple question.

    I want to create a single blank page PDF file that has a text field automatically and dynamically finished based on the file name of the pdf document. Thus, for example, if the file is named "My sample file.pdf", the pdf file is displayed "My sample file.pdf" and that is all. If I rename the pdf file in Windows Explorer to "My renamed file.pdf", when I then open the renamed "My file.pdf" file appears.

    I would then insert this PDF a page in an array of existing pdf files as their new No. 1 page to actually be a title for each page created automatically based on their current file name.

    My research suggests that is possible using Javascript in a text field or a form field (although I prefer the text field), however, that I have no experience with Javascript or its implementation of Acrobat, is impossible for me to do. The closest I got is a script that puts the name of the file in the background. Unfortunately this script maintains the new file name that comes to be superimposed on the old watermark of filename, rather that update. For more information the script was: -.

    this.addWatermarkFromText({)

    cText: this.documentFileName,.

    nTextAlign: app.constants.align.center,

    nHorizAlign: app.constants.align.center,

    nVertAlign: app.constants.align.bottom,

    nFontSize: 12,.

    ({nVertValue: 12});

    Ideally, I'd like the script to remove the file extension and if possible to split the output on two lines based on the file name part preceding / fact following a comma in the name of the file (which she would also deprive). For example, if one had a file named 'my sample file created the Monday.pdf', it would display as: -.

    My sample file

    created Monday

    If anyone has any ideas on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards and thanks in advance.

    Malcolm Mahr

    Add the following JavaScript to the document level:

    // Document-level JavaScript code
    (function () {

        // Get the file name of this document
        fn = documentFileName;

        // Get rid of the PDF extension
        fn = fn.replace(/\.pdf$/i, "");

        // Replace any comma/space combinations with a carriage return
        fn = fn.replace(/\, /g, "\r");

        // Set the field value
        getField("fn").value = fn;

    })();

    Replace "fn" in the statement of getField with the name of your multiline text field. This code runs when the form is opened. If you want to be updated when the file is saved, you can also place in case the Document were spared. Note that some operating systems and other things may have a problem with a comma in the name of the file. Underscore would be a safe alternative.

  • Automatic naming of the PDF files of the data file

    I am new to scripting but have a question. What script can I use to make use of one of the fields that will be (name) and allows to name the file when it is exported?

    I found this script, but when I run it I get "null is not an object" from line 23, column 1.  I have the .csv file and a folder named "pdfs" on my desktop. In the script, I replaced "fichier.csv" with the name of my file. The first column of my .csv file is what I intend to rename pdf files.

    var csv=File(Folder.desktop+"/fichier.csv");

    var myPDFFolder = Folder(Folder.desktop+"/pdfs");

    var names = getNamesFromCSV(csv);

    if(csv.exists && myPDFFolder.exists){
        var files = myPDFFolder.getFiles();
        if(files.length==names.length){
            for(var i=0; i<files.length; i++){
                files[i].rename(files[i].parent+"/"+names[i]+".pdf");
            }
        }
    }

    function getNamesFromCSV(csv){
        if(csv.exists){
            csv.open('r');
            var content = csv.read();
            var namesArr = [];
            content=content.split("\n");
            for(var j=0; j<content.length; j++){
                namesArr.push(content[j].match(/^(.[^\n]+)/i)[1]);
            }

            csv.close();
            return namesArr.slice(1,namesArr.length);
        }
        return false;
    }

    Hi LEngelage,

    I modified your JS code, I hope this what you expect. If go you back!

    Your CSV file of entry like this 1snapshot in screenshot below another cliché is changed the name of the file in the folder "~/Desktop/1" Office

    var csv=File(Folder.desktop+"/Workbook1.csv");
    var myPDFFolder = Folder("~/Desktop/1/");

    if(csv.exists){

         var content = csv.read();
