How can I create an external link to a specific page within a PDF file? Can I create an anchor?

I have a PDF file that contains multiple items. Currently, I have to split the file in many others, so I can link directly to the desired article. How can I create an anchor to point directly to the desired page/section? Is this possible?

If it is for use in a browser, you will find that what works for some will not work with others. When Acrobat/Reader is used as a plug-in, it can work to create a link to the page numbers and named destinations (that you're an anchor), but other browsers that use a built-in PDF reader may not support it. Here is an article that should help you: Planet PDF - link to Pages or Destinations in PDF files

  • How do duplicate you a page within a PDF file?

I have a multipage PDF and ive never been able to understand how to duplicate a page that I have inside without duplicating the file and pulling on a page and do slip into the other file.  Just a long way to do for something that seems so simple.  Is it possible to do?

I found this in the help file - hope it helps!

    1. Click the Pages button to open the Pages panel, and then select one or more page thumbnails.
    1. Do one of the following:
    2. To move a page, drag the box page number of the corresponding thumbnail of the page, or on the thumbnail of the page itself to the new location. A bar appears to show the new position of the thumbnail of the page. The pages are renumbered.

    • To copy a page, Ctrl-drag/Option-drag the thumbnail of the page for a second location.

    Hi question renna,.

To remove the pages of a PDF file, you must use Acrobat (choose Remove in the Pages pane on the tools Panel). If you do not have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

    1. Open the PDF in Acrobat

  • Linking to specific pages within several other PDF documents

My pdf source has ~ 700 references and I need to create a link to each reference (target format PDF).  There are hundreds of files PDF target and the source document refers to different pages in each of the target PDF files.  PDF target files must contain the entire document and not just the cited pages.  What I do is create a link and selecting open a file.  What I'm able to do, is give a page number to this link so that a page instead of page 1.  I understand that you can set the initial view with file properties, but that will not work as I would then have to create a PDF for each link, and there are far too many references to do.  Here is a sample of 'Reference to p. 2, 4' 6, and in this example, I want a separate link for each reference that will go to page 2, and page 4 page 6 (again once I need the entire document for the purposes of these links and not these specific pages of reading).

  • How to detect the color pages in a PDF file?

    I use a plug-in of Acrobat C++ read/modify a PDF file.

I need to get the total number of pages in the PDF file and the page numbers of the pages in color.

So far, I was able to get the total number of pages using PDDocGetNumPages() with no problems.

However, I can't find an API that lets me know if a particular page is color or not. Is there a way to do this?

    Thanks in advance!

But what happens if there are RGB data which means black or grey (R == G == B), that means black or RGB?

There is a code sample in the SDK to browse content in the PDF file, and then you can get the color space and color of each object.

But you really need to do background research on the colors & spaces to achieve this properly.
