A process that maintains a lock can lose the CPU?

Fairly theoretical question:
On a busy system, is it possible for the OS Scheduler move a process that currently hold a lock on the CPU? (possibly wait while other processes turn the latch as well...)

I'm sure that its unlikely, given that the locks are held for a short time. I wonder if Oracle has taken steps to ensure that this will not happen, or if it is always theoretically possible.

Its a yes / no question, but I'm actually looking for a method that I can use to discover this.

Yes, certainly.

It would be one of the reasons for the recommendation to not change the priorities of oracle process in Unix Scheduler - a 'low' priority process holds a resource (for example a latch) may affect a process 'priority' simply because the process of 'low' priority is not allocated CPU scheduler for unix.

"Locks" are Oracle implementations to protect memory structures in the SGA. The Unix Scheduler is not really care what "internal" resources are 'held' by a process when it moved a process in and out of the race-queue.

  • HP pavilion 15-p263ca: I can upgrade the CPU in my laptop, or is he doomed to have speeds(1.9-2.4gHz) low overclocking forever?

I want to upgrade the CPU on my laptop, but I don't know if this is possible or where to look to see if there is. This is hp Pavilion p263ca 15.

Processor AMD A10 is an APU, which means it's a graphic processor/card combination.

I believe that you are at the top of the mark on the hardware configuration of your model series.

Unfortunately, I do not know how the processor works.

Without a doubt, it's automatic and no user intervention is necessary or possible.

  • Is there anyway that a domain user can install the application without administrator rights in Windows 7 Professional?

We are a small IT shop and we look for ways allow domain users install the application to their practice without having to babysit them or run from one PC to another.  I read an article on group policy, but he does not understand the implementation.

    is this possible at all?
    Thank you

You need to change the privileges of use in Active Directory on the server. Or create a local computer account and allow users to install applications to use it.

Using Active Directory would be the most simple, open AD > users

Right-click on the account and change the domain they can log on which is administrators.

  • HP Pavilion 550-194NG: if I can downgrade the CPU?

I have a HP Pavilion 550-194NG that comes with a processor i5-6400. I would use this processor on a different system, but use instead an Intel Pentium G4400 (must also be taken 1151) in the HP Pavilion 550-194NG instead. should I expect any trouble? the bios who makes?

    THX!

    Yes.

The Intel Pentium G4400 CPU is supported by the motherboard of your desktop PC, you can install it and expect to have no problems.

  • You can remove the CPU of a heatsink fan without removing the radiator?

Well, I play games on my laptop and I think I have exhausted my fan. It's about does not and I get an error when I start my laptop (error 90 b). I want to replace it with the right fan but I would also save time and money by removing just the radiator cooling fan. Is it also possible to prevent overheating with the new fan in my laptop? Is another question, possible for the processor to change in this laptop?

Laptop: HP Pavilion G7-2269wm, Windows 8.1

You all rest of the warranty!

screw on the radiator fan & I would like to only by the fan.

Reconstruction will require good thermal paste like artic silver ceramic (good for laptops) also check how all chips in contact with the heat sink as if not under a load or using the soft thermal pads do editing of the slipways (measured correctly) copper will have big gains for cooling & life of the material.

CPU is variable, but upgrade options will be limited, consult the manual of the hp (support download) for possible options of better equipped models of processor...

  • Port is too long that the process that runs on there

    Platforms: 11.2.0.3 on AIX/Linux/Solaris

This is a question about how software Oracle maintains sessions client connected after that the listener is stopped with elegance

    Scenario of
    =========
You have a DB and its listener running on the DB server. The listener runs on port 3278.
From your laptop, you start a sqlplus session to through the listener. After the session must be connected to the laptop. The process of listening to the DB server is reduced. But sql * more session connected to the laptop can still issue queries and get the results.sqlplus session is still connected to the DB via port 3728, even if the listener is down. ESTABLISHED for that port displays the following output of netstat on the Server DB (10.80.0.213)
    $ netstat -an | grep 3728
    10.80.0.213.3728   192.168.0.101.59001  17520    881 49640      0 ESTABLISHED
A TCP/IP Port exists only when the process that runs / plays on it is. Right? Thus, after the listener is brought back is there another process that maintains this port so that the client session is served with what he needs the DB?

As far as I KNOW, none of the two processes can share a port. Unless there is a mechanism in the listener that calls the port to another process, when it is worn down.

    Hello
I think that explains very well at a level detailed - the way he manages the ports has changed slightly in the new versions of oracle - lsof does not look like it can in older versions.

  • Volume keys not working do not, what was the name of the process that controlled?

Well because I hate programs that my current window to minimize, or even stop what I'm doing... I'm really angry when HP support assistant reduces my tf2 window to tell me it was downloading updates.

As a result, I opened the Task Manager and began to put an end to almost all processes that began with "hp".

With the process that was likely to struggle against the very useful volume on my keyboard command buttons, so I was hoping if someone could give me the name of the process I ended up so I can get these keys working again.

The program is called quick launch area. It could be something like QLBCTRL.exe.

  • CAN SOMEONE HELP ME GET THE CPU TO QUIT RUNNING AT 100 WITHOUT A RUNNING PROGRAM? What is going on? Help!

I just bought a laptop about four months ago.  The processor works 100% now with absolutely NOTHING running.  Microsoft answers this question?  I have critical documents on this computer and do all my work on the internet but I'm not a computer person.  I barely know anything about software, but I started CPU research because its knocking out my computer and causing it to run hot.  What does windows do?  I need this problem is resolved or I guess that Windows can refund me the cost of a new cell phone to destroy mines and this making it a useless piece of junk.   Does anyone have an answer?  Or should all go us to Apple?

Malware is the more likely choice.

    Quick fix:

    • disconnect from the internet (if you have no malware, you don't want no computer talking to the internet)
    • Log in as an administrator.
    • Start the Task Manager,
    • Click "show processes from all users."
    • Click the CPU column header to sort the processes by the use of the CPU, click to get the maximum at the top
    • Now, you will see, if all goes well the task that uses resources.

If you recognize it, you might try to end the process. It may restart automatically.

If you want to know what is running, download Sysinternals Process Explorer better. It gives much more information: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10things/10-sysinternals-tools-you-shouldn ' t-being-without/2033

Then continue with the anti-malware if necessary

  • Can I upgrade the CPU on my old Satellite M60

Hello I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade the processor to my old m60
and, if possible, which would be compatible CPU model?

    Thank you

    Hello

I doubt that you will be able to upgrade the processor.
    Upgrading CPU is delicate.
First of all, you should check what CPU's are supported by the chipset.
Secondly, the BIOS is not tested and designed for other processors and so this can be a big problem.
In the worst cases the CPU is not supported by the BIOS and the laptop will not turn on.

Last but not least a faster processor would generate more heat which would lead to a higher temperature and plant s notebook

As you can see the CPU upgrade it discouraged and in most cases is not possible

  • Can satellite L300-1AS - I put the CPU and the GPU?

    Hey

I bought what above, mainly for the games but also for use with the software of music, at the end of 2008, but found that the graphics card is a big drawback. Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card GeForce or NVIDIA update?

There is also a processor Intel Core Duo... is a feasible way of this upgrade to a Quad Core?

    Cheers in advance!

I can confirm the message posted by Luke.
The upgrade of the GPU is definitely not possible.

    Upgrading CPU is more delicate.
Usually you can remove the CPU from the motherboard but no one can say how the laptop would go after these updates.
The main issue may be the higher heat dissipation which would be created by stringer CPU. The higher temperature may affect the functionality of the laptop.
In addition, there could be a problem of compatibility between the BIOS and the new processor.

The BIOS was not designed and tested not with different CPU and this could be a problem.

When I start most of the programs that is lock and on the taskbar it says program does not.  How can I stop this from happening?

    Original title: Windows Explorer

It is a good number with a boot drive (C:\ drive) that is cruelly of free space.

A healthy walk NEEDS 20% free space at least to work properly and prevent your suspension system.

Several causes are possible, but check your free space. Upgrade your hard drive if necessary.

    More RAM might help too.

Check these before you attempt to update or install anything more.
