Yes, but with few exceptions the programs copied will not work.

That's because the program exe file is only part of the workforce
program. There are also many other necessary files elsewhere and
entries in the registry that you will not have copied.

I have a new 15.6 "HP Pavilion 15-p157sa laptop running Windows 8.1, which is anything but the question keybord I have been unable to solve.  While typing, I sometimes get double instances of the same chaaracter entered with unique pressures.

I'm going to go bacck and corrrect anything I type iin beefore I posst it.  For the purpose of this post on the forum, I' just vee left just as it is without corrrecting letters double - by way of sshowing you exacctly wwhat happening.

My first thouught it is ccaused by typing orr too ssoftt too hard, so I have not tested this theory aandd ffoundd no change.

I then tried changging options delay key repeat, but it also made no difference.

I'vve also tried ussingg the parameters "key bouncee" under acccessibilitty.  There is no heelp either, like the time the fastest that you can set 0.5 seconds, sso, I ended up having to presses keey missed to aaltoggether, unless I slowed down my typing speeed ddown.

I searcheed the net and these forumss for one is, but all I can ffind iss the isssue where people geet multiplee, various characteers appearing on scrreen, not the same characcteers, double, as you can see on this post.

I tried all the other suggested fixes: changes/updates to BIOS; keyboard settings, uninstall the drivers, etc. The link above, which will take you through the evolution of the "rate of key Bounce" in the registry was finally the fix.

I had three computers HP Envy due to this problem - many hours wasted with corrections and feedback. No one at HP could never understand - thanks to 'talkingtoaj2' to understand the problem of HP. He should be compensated.
