A VPC Image can be activated with a real product key?

Hello, I have a real copy of Windows XP (in a box), but I would like to use one of these virtual machine images (Images of VPC), expiring August 9, 2009.   I wonder if it would be possible to activate the VPC image with my real product key?

I was wondering if its possible because he can save me installation of service packs and all of time clean install using my really old XP disc.

Mozillakilled salvation,

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers forum.

Yes, when you use VPC images, you install the operating system, and it is treated as any other facility with the same licensing requirements. This looks like a reasonable alternative to a dual-boot machine since you don't have to reboot to switch between operating systems.

OK, so I've upgraded windows vista to windows 7 and now I want to reinstall vista as a dual boot. I understand that my vista OEM license is now linked to the 7 upgrade, but if I buy a new vista product key can I still use the vista reinstallation disc came with my Dell laptop. I do not know because the drive is a Dell reinstall the drive, but it is on the same computer. The disk is bound to the OEM key or a different key will activate again with her.

Dell drive is related to the OEM license and, normally, the motherboard.

If you want to dual-boot, you will need to buy a separate FULL Vista / / license-product disk key.

  • Looking for a product key for a clean install of Windows 7 on a material with a digital product key (DPK)?

My usual corporate scenario when configuring new hardware is to receive the material, and then replace the image of stock with an image customized using MDT. After installation I change the product key in the product key valid for this hardware/operating system and then activate.

My most recent material (Lenovo Thinkpad of T430 (2342-6FU)) comes pre-installed with Windows 7, but allows the upgrade to Windows 8. In line with new hardware in Windows 8, there is no certificate of authenticity (COA) on the material, or in the documentation. The product key is in the form of a digital product (DPK) in the UEFI WOOD key.

My question is its form the simplest is, "where can I get access to a product key for Windows 7 given this scenario?" He has been on the COA, now it is not.

I think that it is a valid usage scenario. I bought the license and install a custom image with the same bits as I have a license. I think I understand that if I install Windows 8, it would be aware of the DPK and active accordingly, but Windows 7, AFAIK, is unaware of the DPK and requires a key of product entry manually in a way any.

Use a locator product keys to retrieve the product key.

  • Has used two different PC with a single product key supplied with my DVD to buy?

    Hello

Sorry if the question is already asked.

My friend has purchase DVD Ultimate to windows 7. There two which is 32-bit and 64-bit. But there is only one product key. A PC is already installed with 64-bit windows with this product key. If one pc to another is eligible for the installation of 32-bit windows with the same product key? Is this possible?

If it is not possible, then why have 2 CD?

    Thank you.

They are different architectures.  Use 64-bit 4 GB or more of RAM, 32 bit for 3 GB or less RAM.

You can install one at a time.

    Clean reinstall Windows 10.

  • Updating Win 7 32 Bit to Win 7 64 bit with the same product key

    Hey,.

I bought a laptop computer where is installed Win 7 Pro 32 Bit. Now, I want to install Win 7 pro 64 bits with the same product key. I have the required software. Is this possible?

Yes, you can use the same product key to install and activate the 64-bit version.

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • I have windows7 64 bit on a computer acer laptop, but I want to change my OS to 32-bit. Is it possible with the same product key?

    Windows 7 64 bit to 32 bit

I have windows7 64-bit with the computer acer laptop, but I want to change to 32 bit can it is possible with the same product key?

If you have a retail version of Windows 7, then it is more than likely came with discs both 64-bit and 32-bit. In this case, boot from the 32-bit disk and do a clean install.

If the 64-bit version has been pre-installed, then you need to contact Acer to see if they have a 32-bit recovery disc.

The software comes with the key when you buy. You have not a
    choice.

    > I have windows 7 Home premium, but it can only be used on a single computer.

Right, the rule is quite clear. It is a copy (or a license) for
    each computer.

There is nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that has been in
effect on all versions of Windows from at least with Windows 3.1.

Then, unless you can find a lower price somewhere or you wish to fly,
    you're out of luck.

What kind of file is it? What is its extension (the characters
After the dot at the end of the file name)? And what program is trying
to open it and needs a product key?

Please answer these questions, but I'll also venture a guess: you
try to open a file with Microsoft Word and Word .docx or .doc
    request a product key.
If this is the case, in all probability, your computer comes with a trial version
version of Microsoft Office pre-installed. Your trial period is now in place and if
you want to continue using it, you must buy a copy and get a
    product key for this.

I need to activate my windows 7 Home premium and when I look at the bottom of my computer product key essentially disappeared... What can I do to get my product key?

Option 1: You will need to invest in a new license.

Option 2: If your computer comes with a recovery partition, use to reinstall Windows 7, it will exempt the need to have a product key.

Option 3. Ask a recovery disk set from the manufacturer of your computer and use it to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to have a product key too.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    ------------------------------------

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
