  You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

  The user.js file will be present if you or a other software created this file and normally will not present.

  You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
  The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

  You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

  Here is something you can try:

  1. Click on tools and then click Options.
  2. Select the Advanced tab
  3. Select the general tab
  4. Uncheck the use hardware acceleration if available.
  5. Click file and then click on exit.
  6. Launch Firefox normally.

  Once you have followed these steps, you'll want to follow these establishments and see if the lines are gone.

  Click the Help menu and select Restart with disabled modules.

  Let me know if this has eliminated the problem.

  I know I need 240 pin DIMM PC3 - 12800 DDR3 - 1600, but I see a lot of times sellers will list timing and latency.

  I have read technical data online for the PC as well as information of available memory on the HP site but have not found anything that talks about timing RAM and latency.

  I read a few forum posts where people said they had to change the BIOS settings to get their PC to recognize their RAM due to a speed issue or because the system wouldn't start after they have installed more RAM.

  I really don't want to have to dink with the BIOS.  I just want to buy something that will work with the existing system.

  This is a thorough article on the timings of the RAM. With single channel mode, the timings fall usually the lowest common denominator. Mode double channel, it may be OK to use a pair with a 'X' timing and the other with a timing 'Y', but it is not good practice, and can the opening questions. Alternatively, the system that they are the same and it can force all work. I didn't want to try it.
