AA3

I just added 1 GB of ram for my windows xp home edition.  Hoping to play AA3. The series of ATI Radeon 200 graphics video is not good enough. can I upgrade it me? and how?  I need to upgrade to windows 7, then download a graphic/video card more up-to-date.

If you have a desktop computer, rather than a laptop PC and then upgrade your graphics card is relatively simple. However, you must ensure that your existing installation is compatible with it. First if I suggest you compare each of the requirements of the system for AAC (see: http://www.americasarmy.com/support/requirements_aa3.php ) against your PC existing a note down where your PC does not reach the height. If you don't know ask.

You say that your current graphics card is an ATI Radeon 200 - do you mean Radeon Express 200 or something else?

All the answers and suggestions are provided by an enthusiastic amateur and are therefore no explicit or implicit guarantee. Basically, you use my suggestions at your own risk.

  • Give the hearing CS6 look and work like Cool Edit Pro 2 or AA3

Is there a way to make AA CS6 look and work like Cool Edit Pro 2 or AA3?

I use it to play live performance tracks. I'm eager to make the biggest play, pause, stop, etc buttons in the tab transport section.

Also would like to be able to organize tracks in order, they will take place.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you AC

Unfortunately, hearing, as a Publisher, is rather less wonderful when it comes to being a direct file player. Always has been.

Screen 'player' of hearing acts only as a file for the beaches of landmark drive, files not together. The solution for him to play the whole of a file is unfortunately a bit heavy; Open all the files you want to play using "Open Add" and make a range of landmark around each of them (Ctrl-A and then F8). Then, you can import all of these mark lines in the drive and rearrange them in the order you want them to play. But then you're a little drunk, as the normal transport controls do not control the file player... and he does not stop at the end of each placemark!

When I had to do in the past, my solution was simply to open all the files in reverse order, as you want them to play in, open the file as if you were going to edit and press play. Then go to the next in the list. Yes, having to transport non-rescalable controls is a little pain, but it doesn't matter, you can use the SPACEBAR rather effectively, or do like me and use a Red Rover. Two or three things to mention; Make sure that you have parked the ICT at the beginning of each file before opening the following (it can be a little annoying if you forget this, because he remembers hearing for each separate file and your file might start playing sort). The other thing is good news, and is that when he does, at least the file stop playing at the end - as long as you have not activated the playback loop, it's...

  • Why my recording stops when I navigate away AA3?

Recently, I noticed that when I quit AA3, my recording stops. It is extremely annoying. How should I do?

Well, the first thing to do is go to hardware configuration Audio/Edit and make sure the box next to 'Release ASIO Driver in background' is NOT checked.

However, when you use ASIO drivers do not forget that you can not have multiple pieces of software trying to use the driver at the same time.  This is a restriction of the ASIO itself and not a restriction of the hearing.

  • Lost "compander" preset to AA3

    Hi all

I use AA3 on Windows XP, and everything was fine until yesterday when I opened a vocal track in the edit mode. I always use a little twisted "compander" preset in the treatment of the dynamics to add some beautiful stroke punch to the song, and it worked very well.

But since yesterday, the default "Compander" preset both my own saved preset compander disappeared. There are only 3 presets on the left, and none of them does work for singing.

If it's any help, yesterday I added extra 2 GB of RAM for my PC and installed the USB web camera with built-in microphone. Never installed the drivers for the camera because I do not plan to use Windows XP, then I just disabled the audio and video devices for her through the future manager hadware.

Those are the only changes I have done courses in the past few months. Now, is there a way I can bring or Compander presets without removal of HEARING. INI file as advised in another thread?

I don't want to do that because the INI file also contains saved presets for all the berries, I use in my projects and I can't afford to lose each other.

Any help would be great, thanks in advance!

I thought about it, but I was afraid that I'll lose my personal bus and also masters presets. Here again, I can create projects to save them, load up once again and save, correct?

Hearing stores all kinds of different things in different places, and it is very difficult to remember what is there. For example, the keyboard shortcuts are stored in the registry, so no amount of backup protects those. As for the rest, well ini files are easy to read and even the XML that are not impossible, so you should be able to understand what you are going to lose - perhaps... but I don't think that projects are necessarily going to help you, because I am sure that they rely presets saved of one kind or another to work.

With regard to surveillance equipment.  I'm pretty sure I fall into the category of people who have inadequate monitoring facilities.  In my case, I do not rely on my workstation hardware monitoring.  I use it as a starting point and then listen to a decent stereo and then change again as needed.  It is, at best, an inefficient way of working, I guess that, ultimately, we want to test any work mastered on the reading system at least one who will use for listening purposes.  What are your thoughts on that?

I did not deliberately say "surveillance equipment"... I said environment, because it is just as much on the acoustics of the room that you use as the equipment inside. Really, you should monitor speakers and not hifi. Speakers HiFi are designed for her 'good', and it is certainly not what you want. You need speakers that make some sort of attempt to be precise-, which means that when something is wrong, it shows. In fact, you want all her trouble, until it is right, one way or another. Not only that, but before using it in anger, you want to hear a bunch of commercially produced things first, until you have "learned" that your particular system resembles the place, it is set up, with mixtures of verified. And how you set up in the room is very important - as is the acoustic treatment of the first room properly. Virtually all rooms of servants must low trapping, and invariably, they first treatment of reflection as well. You can do everything yourself, but do not consider carefully first. And once you've done all that and got to a usable state, then you will want to leave it alone for a while. I don't a not disturb my final environment monitoring for 20 years - at all. Do not replace the monitors, or anything. It wasn't perfect, but I was used to it, and it was the most important thing. It is not so bad for me however. I am a qualified acoustician and I can sort these things anyway!

After some time (especially if you are used to monitoring in strange places) you get to learn what to exclude your listening, but still it is better to have to do less of what more, that is why the acoustic treatment is important. And after awhile, you get enough confidence in what you do that you don't have to play on the charges of other systems - what is good; These other systems all have their own idiosyncrasies, and if you are right, then this is will sound like acceptable on them because it won't ever anyway. In regards to the stage monitors, you'll have trouble finding anything useful for less than the minimum of $250 / pair - and they will be not ideal by any means; But if they are intended to be used as monitors, then they are going to be more acceptable than stereo, regardless.

Do you have any suggestions on software of the atmosphere?  I am currently working with a recording that was done in a room with walls of cinder blocks, so there is a good amount of echo.  I played, to some extent, with the echo a.a. tool, but seems like you know better approaches.  (I'm going on the assumption (you can correct me where I; m wrong) that purely software based solutions of mastering as AA will not, in general, as well as dedicated hardware solutions.)  My goal, however, is, over time, produce more listenable records as I can.

For the atmosphere control software, look here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the mastering software at all--unless you happen to be the manufacturer of many over-priced hardware mastering, of course... have a decent monitor pair, a decent known environment and ears not tired, when you do that are much more important. I use not quite deliberately all equipment material control; People like the results, they pay me and they come back. And I would say it was pretty good.

  • I don't understand the whole with the folder 'Temp' of AA3

So, when exactly should I or should I delete the contents of the folder temp Auditions?  Mine is currently at about 400 MB, but on a 90 GB partition.

But I wonder when you have to erase some of all temporary files out of there.

I do not understand what they are there for, because as I understand it they are created when you make a change to a file so that you can undo that change, if this is true, here are my questions:

    1. the temporary only important files when you are working on a session?

Because I mean, if I make a modification in the edit mode, it creates a temporary file... but once I have completed this edition and saved re-recorded the wave making it permanent, then what's the point of the temp file?  How can I tell what temp files are associated with the destructive changes that have been saved and what makes advocated a temporary file?

    2. the temporary files created when an effect is applied in multitrack view?  If they are then:

IF I delete temporary files bad means that the efx, I applied on certain tracks will not be there?  EFX will disappear tracks on which I applied them if I delete temporary files?

Of course, I don't understand, but why do I have 400 + MB of temporary files after my projects were registered and closed?  What is the purpose of all these temporary files be there if all my projects are aware with regard to savings is concerned?

any idea would be appreciated, thanks.

    Kristoff P wrote:

So, how do you know which .wav files temporary files are associated with?

Basically, you have not. The naming scheme is internal, and anyway it's nowhere near as simple as that...

If you have hearing pointed to a specific temporary folder and there is nothing left there when the program is closed, you can remove it with impunity. If the temp folder, as you pointed out is also used by other applications (which could be quite easily) then it's anyone guess what might be there. You need a large space time, mainly due to the cancellations. If you have a stereo file to 500 MB and you perform ten steps above with 10 available cancellations, it's missing 5GO, directly at the exit. If you have loads of loaded files, you need to keep those that you do not use at this moment available fast too - so more temp space went. For example, you could easily have 10 copies of the same file, or of parts of it, stored in different States in temporary files and have these intermingled with all kinds of other nonsense also. But this applies only to the current session. If you close a hearing, then all these files are useless - another session would not pick up at all - it is so absolutely safe to remove them if they were not (which they should be).

The situation with temporary files MV is... well, it's different now because all files are streamed. But I think it always adjusts for things like unique copies of tracks/clips until they are registered, etc.. But these days, this would tend to be minimal compared with what might happen in EV.

  • How save/export favorites/shortcuts AA3

I want to archive my favorite settings and shortcuts keyboard in Audition 3. Is this possible? If so, which files are involved, and where they are. After a format HD/operating system reinstalled, I currently have to go through the task of all time to re-create all my shortcuts and Favorites (see attached image). I'm not talking work spaces - I've got covered. Thank you...

The way in which I could find my shortcuts keyboard was to open the keyboard shortcuts page and save a copy with a very distinctive character that was unlikely to appear anywhere else in Windows. I could then search the registry to find and the long side were my other shortcuts saved. There seems to be two places where they are kept. On my PC, they were:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Audition\3.0\Prefs\Keys\en_US\[custom]

    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1229272821-1659004503-682003330-1005\Software\Adobe\Audition\3.0\Prefs \Keys\en_US\[Custom]

So, it seems as if you do a search in the registry on [Custom] who should find them. So just to save on these two sets of keys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Audition\3.0

and the second is on your PC.

  • My keyboard does not control the player in my games.

I have a Lenovo G550. I played Army 3 of America on Steam (a game service run by Valve) when all of a sudden I couldn't control my player. I assumed it was a bug in AA3 and passed to Minecraft where it's the same thing. It must be something with my keyboard, but I'm not sure. Just in case, I handed to conditions in the factory and redone the games. The same problem. I run windows 7 on this computer. Thank you in advance.

  • What to do when my PC crashed with BOD and calls for a previous version of Windows?

First of all thank you for all the help.

I already posted this question in response to my previous thread but I don't know if everyone saw that since is a response.

    And now the sad news.
I am currently typing this laptop for my wife because my PC is completely crushed.
After being able to finally load these SPs and all my drivers and other software, it seemed that it worked.
I always tried to avoid the automatic update because everything seemed ok.
Whenever I have had more software installed on my pc I set up the new restore point.
In fact twice because the third time I typed system3 and press ENTER to create the new restore point I had immediately the Blue Screen of Death that I'we heard about before.
So I tried to re - install Windows again, but for the first time that I am not even able to do.
He said: Windows didn't start because the following file is missing or corrupted \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
Then he said to press r in the first screen to try to resolve what I did.
With my original XP cd in, it took me for Windows set up where I faced another problem (new).
He said: Setup cannot find a previous version of windows installed on your computer.
He asked me to insert my original cd with NT, 95 or 98 on it.
OK - I've upgraded from 98 years and I still have this start up par 3 1/2 98 but after moving so fast and technology upgrades for my Office Perrine drive seemed like the size of space.
What are my options to resolve this problem?
    My HD could be fried?
Couldit be some project of pirates or viruses?
I 2HDs a C: 40giga.old Western digital that I had my Windows and second giga D: 120 which was more for backup and storage.
After having all these problems I always C: formatted and reinstalled Windows but never really messed with my D: drive.
Could there be something on D:, even after fresh Windows would keep jump on C:?
Also why it asks me to insert the 98 now and not more recent before when I formatted and resettled C: windows.
Once again thanks for your help.

I have everything working fine now.

Here is the link to which fixed my problem.
  • In Audition 3 MIDI tracks does not

As of today, when I try to create a track MIDI in multitrack mode, nothing happens. I can import MIDI, but if I try to drag it to the timeline that hearing crashes with a runtime error. If I try to open a previous session containing a MIDI track, the "Open" dialog box stops loading halfway through, with the grey button "Cancel". I restarted the program and the computer, and the bug persists.

The last time I used the MIDI in Audition was at the beginning of June, the date on which he was still working as usual. I'm on a Windows 7 laptop and use A3 for years without problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that many people still use AA3 for lunch because it has been abandoned long ago. So unless you are very lucky, you're not likely to get many answers here.

The only thing I can suggest is to rest your Audition 3 default settings. This you can do this by renaming the folder settings of AA 3 by adding something like .bak for the name of the folder. Hearing will recreate the folder with settings by default when you open then hearing. The folder can be found at "C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\3.0".
