This solved the problem for me too, you can select the top of the file (in
my case g:\ my documents-my pictures.)
Properties-> Security-> advanced-> change permissions
Check "include permissions inheritable" AND "replace all permissions of the child".
Work done :)
I can not and never been able to open a file that was previously saved on hard disk by selecting the print option to get in the print dialog box. Firefox displays gooblygook, even if the name of file is an html element, the Notepad of Windows crashes, MS Excel does not recognize the file type. MS Word also displays goobblys when the file has no file extension.
If you use the file printing, then you will get a file that is supposed to be sent to a printer, and this file has any sort of code formatting for this printer.
Open such a file in Firefox or a text editor can only work if you use one printer for text to print the file to, then make sure that such a printer is installed and selected.
I can't get my hard drive to recognize that I have a CD in the tray. I can only open and view those that I already copied. Why?
There are a number of possibilities here.
1. assuming you have tried several different blank CD (if you are fairly confident that the problem is not the media), it is possible that the laser "burning" the recordable CD is dead. Because this isn't the same laser that reads the CD, you can always read but not write. If this is the case, the only solution is to buy a new CD player (not expensive).
2. your CD drive (E :) shows when you click on my computer? I think it does, or you did that you can open and view copies of files, you have already copied to other CD.
3. open Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK)
- Expand the category of CD-ROM/DVD-ROM readers by clicking on the + sign to the left
- Y at - it a warning next to the entrance icon?
- Double-click the entry for your CD player
- That said under the "device status".
- What would you say (at the bottom) under "use of the device.
- Close the Properties window and Device Manager
4. open my computer, right-click on the icon for your CD drive and select Properties
- Is there a tab "recording"?
- If there is a 'Recording' tab, click on it. Is the box to "Enable the writing of CD on this drive" checked or unchecked? (Do not change at this stage)
I'm not very familiar with Media Center Edition. In the past, when you copy files to a CD, how did you do? You just drag files to the letter of the CD-ROM drive in Windows Explorer, or did you have to open an app? If the latter, what application you use to copy files to a CD.
I can't connect to the Internet via the wireless network. It shows that I have local access only. I can't connect even in SafeMode with network. I have Ping www.microsoft.com and the answer is "ping request could not find host www.microsoft.com. I am connected to the network wireless through my iPad and can connect via my smartphone. This leads me to believe there is only something configured properly on my laptop. Can anyone provide assistance?

If the hardware supports it, a basic input/output system (BIOS) password can be defined by preventing changes to the boot device prevents booting from removable media. Combined with physical security locks to prevent the hardware changes, it should help to prevent unauthorized access.
You may need to contact the manufacturer or refer to the manual for assistance with the BIOS settings.
Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.
You can contact Microsoft Support for assistance on the issue of piracy.
I use a modified code of Macromedia to save the content of a text filed on the hard drive. See the code at the end.
The code works fine, and a text file is saved in the specified hard disk location.
The problem is that all the content of the text field appears in a very long line.
The line breaks in the field text appears at all in the saved text file.
If the following is the content of the text filed on the stage:
then the saved file is like: abcdefjhijklmnopqrstuvxwyz
No line break happens! How can this be repaired?
Thanks for your suggestions.
Here's the code *.
-This handler saves the contents of the field in a text file called "output.txt".
-more written anything in the file "output.txt".
If objectP (myFile), then set myFile = 0 - Delete the instance if it already exists
myFile = new (xtra "fileio") - create an instance of FileIO
openFile (myFile, the moviePath & "output.txt", 0) - open the file with R/W access
Delete (MyFile) - erases the file
createFile (myFile, the moviePath & "output.txt) - creates the file again
openFile (myFile, moviePath & "output.txt, 0)-open the file with R/W access
mySaveString = member("input").text - puts the contents of the "input" field in the variable mySaveString
writeString(myFile,mySaveString) - writes the text in the file
closeFile(f) (myFile) - close the file
myFile = 0 - has the instance

I tried to set up a link today from my new laptop computer Windows 7 my most top of desktop running vista. The liaison program stated that the administrator on my old computer was only a temporary user. I tried to set up the account as a permanent user without realizing that it would replace the current account. I have now no access to programs from hard drive of the main user I was using. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to access the hard disk with this user and import files? I forgot almost all programs appear on the computer but open to anything.
1. What do you mean by link program?
2. What have you tried to do?
3. how many accounts do you currently on the computer and what are they?
4. what happens when you try to access the files on the hard drive?
It seems that you do not have permissions to access the files on the hard drive.
I suggest that take you the files and folder try to access.
To take ownership of a folder
(a) right click on the folder you want to take control and then click Properties.
(b) click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.
(c) click on Edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
(d) click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.
(e) If you want that person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the check box Replace owner subcontainers and objects .
(f) click OK.
Troubleshoot "access denied" when opening files or folders
I hope this helps!

If you buy the Seagate hard drive retail box version, a copy of Acronis should be included, it can be used only with their readers, or you can download it from the Web of Seagate website, you will also find that other hard drive manufacturers have their own free cloning software available.
First, install the new drive as the secondary image, the exsisting C: / for her.
Immediately stop the system, switch the data cable [SATA port 0] to the new disk, making the new master hard drive and see if the system boots properly.
Start the system with only the new hard drive connected.
Be sure to leave the original drive disconnected, until the new hard drive is working to your satisfaction.
Before cloning a hard drive, make sure that existing drive has no corruption or virus on it, because they will be transferred to the new hard drive.
It will take a second SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

I have an old Satellite 300CDT, I can't support it appears not yet listed on the Toshiba site.
I have added a new hard drive and bought a 40 GB drive, but it will only show 4 GB per partition.
I want 2 partitions that I have and in fdisk I said 50% for each but it only shows 4GB each even though it says support big readers.
I'm running Windows Me.
Is it possible for an old laptop of this type to display the size of the hard drive.
Did you use the FAT32 or NTFS?
I use partition Magic 8 to do and to manage the partitions on the HARD disk.
In my opinion, you should try this program. I think that using the PM8 you will get the total size of the HARD drive.
I try to Defrag. and cleaning disc once a week. I normally like 30% free space. After that I have the defragmentation. last week, he went to zero, all free space (white bar) became red. I have not downloaded anything. I tried to remove programs, which would total more than 15% free space mark. If I run it defrag goes to zero. Any thoughts?
I suggest you analyze your computer Microsoft Safety Scanner, it will help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
Method 2: Try running the disk check on your system with the help of the link below.
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265
Important: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.
Hope this information is useful.
