Acer inconia w510 rest bios password

Hello.. I have acer inconia w510 I forgot my bios password so that I can start on my dvd or my USB for repair please helpppppppp

Think it has to go to Acer repair center, if you want to keep the warranty. They added a reset hole to the W3, but the W510 does not seem to have one.

You received two posts. I guess the servers take a little time to save the message, so you don't see it right away.

There are no simple solutions to a BIOS password, and the OS version does not affect it at all, because when you go into the BIOS there is no operating system loaded yet. Some systems have a reset jumper that will completely erase the settings, including the password, but I doubt if it's there on a W500. Typiclly tablets do not have the free real estate on the motherboard for this sort of thing. Do you really, really need it? If so I'd be willing to bet that you could send to Acer using the guarantee after service and get it cleared.

  • Reboot Acer iconia W510 problem

Every time when I start my Tablet (Acer Iconia W510) after the password a message saying something like a reboot is necessary due to some problems (the message and the Tablet works very well after that and I have not noticed any reboots after the password, but maybe before).

In any case, the message said that the problems exist in the following files

    C:\Windows\Minidump\063013-12703-01.dmp
    C:\users\helja\appdata\local\temp\wer-31921-0.SysData.XML
    C:\Windows\MEMORY. DMP

Also during the installation of some programs or updates and if the restart is required after installation of the tablet to the first encounters a problem and fails to restart at first but can solve the problem and Tablet so far started normally. (only a message that there are reboot problems but no precise information on the nature of the problem is given)

    Hi Kari,

    Thanks for the update.

Sometimes, between the uninstalling and reinstalling software/drivers, it's a good idea to run the Windows Disk Cleanup utility. The disk cleanup utility to free disk space by deleting unnecessary files from your computer.

Please consult the following link and remove some unwanted files:

    Delete files using disk cleanup

Your model is on the list of the piloted.

Contact HP and they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

  • Cannot get rid of the BIOS password

Bought an ACER Aspire E1 from an EBAY of ACER store about a year ago. A few weeks ago, I started it and quickly received a BIOS PASSWORD entry. Since that time, the laptop was absolutely worthless. I guess I tried the hardware, software, battery and all I could think of to fix the problem. I tried the MICROSOFT forums. ACER, ASK.COM Forums and forums Forums, forums, forrums and other forums that I could think of to try to resolve the unknown BIOS password. Thanks UEFI.

I guess short of replacement of the EEPROM on the motherboard (don't think even that would help) which I'd be suspicious to do.

Cannot get rid of the BIOS password.

If I contact the ACER Support, they say that it's a hardware problem. I tried (as suggested by ACER support), bringing to STAPLES, BESTBUY, FRYS ELECTRONICS, OFFICE MAX, DATA DOCTORS, and several other 'Repair computer facilities' nothing works.

    IN a WORD, it's a PIECE OF a $400 trash...

If anyone has any ideas on how to reslove this issue, send me an E-mail, fax, text. or post a reply...

  • back to zero/remove bios password for computer dell laptop

is anyone know how reset/remove password bios on a dell laptop inspiron 1150? When I bought it, the said person that they don't remember the password. I have a disk recovery and thought, I could find it. but it was not the windows password. It's the bios. all I can do is switch on the laptop! anyone out there know the generic bios password? Reference Dell tell me since it is guaranteed outta and wants me to pay much time resting/remove it. also is it for me on my toshiba satellite years before and they wanted to charge me big buck, too. think that someone can help me out there, please? Thanks for your time.  -Coyote

Option 1: open, you look at your motherboard laptop case. Locate the CMOS jumper, that's close to the battery. Claire remove the shunt and turn on your PC with in 5 to 10 seconds and turn it off. Reinsert the shunt to there correct place and try to turn to go to the BIOS, if there will be a password box will appear.

Option 2: You must open your laptop and look at the motherboard and locate the CMOS battery. Just delete it with in 5 minutes to clear the BIOS password.
