  • How will I know if a product key for xp has been activated yet

Hi I recently bought a copy of windows xp pro and what he was going to install on my laptop that I'm on vista, it is an authentic copy from what I understand, but before starting the installation, I need to know if the product key has been activated yet, is it possible to tell? Thank you all

Simply call Microsoft on the toll free number: 1800-936-5700.

Give them the product key, and they will tell you if it has been used for activation aldready and if it has been blocked.

Also give them the part number of the Windows XP disk and they will tell you if what drive it is. (OEM, retail). and they can also tell you if the product key will match and work with the disk.

Do that before you start the installation, train them if the disk and product key do not match, you will be stuck.

  • Acer V3 - 571G Bluetooth does not not on Windows 8.1

    Hello

I upgraded my laptop Windows 8 using the Windows 7 upgrade assistant. Everything worked perfectly until I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and it is so badly hit. For some reason, my bluetooth (Broadcom) adapter is no longer recognized by the operating system, as it believes that such an adapter does not even exist.

I'm on the latest BIOS available for the portable computer which is 1.13 and I have all the latest drivers drivers Acer page. The bluetooth adapter is the only thing not fucntioning. The installation of the driver even just every time after failing to recognize the presence of the adapter. I don't want to go back to Windows 8 because its a lot less stable than the 8.1. No idea why it is not recognized? BIOS update v2 files there, but they are incompatible with my motherboard. Acer has no work around or can their technicians to free another BIOS file to fix this problem, if the motherboard is the question?

    Thank you.

Well, there is nothing that acer can really make this topic. Bluetooth is detected but Broadcom did not provide appropriate drivers to make it work properly. So, technically, while bluetooth may not be defective, it is not as good as the pilots released by the parent company which is Broadcom and those who are unfortunately very poor at best. I'm waiting for the warranty ends before trying to mod myself. Thank you for your time and effort, I wouldn't have thought of it without your help.

For those who have the same problem, here are the steps that you must follow to correct your bluetooth:

    1. during the splash screen (Windows 8 logo with the turning points below), wait that the wireless led to turn on and then press Fn + F3 (combo typical wireless for the V3 series) shortly after.

    2. once started, load the appropriate drivers for the specific brand of your bluetooth to your Acer model adapter.

    Atheros: Bluetooth_8.0.1.305_W81x64_A.zip

    Broadcom: Bluetooth_12.0.0.7850_W81x64_A.zip

    3. If the driver does not detect the bluetooth adapter, repeat step 1 but this time after the wireless led lights, press the Fn + F3 button twice , then start in Windows 8, and try to load the drivers again.

    4. If the card is still not detected, repeat step 1 and press the Fn + F3 key combination 3times and then load the drivers once started. It should be detected this time.

This is because the 3 distinct modes are:

    1. wireless BLUETOOTH OFF

    2 Bluetooth and Wireless WE

    3 Bluetooth and Wireless OFF

If you don't want the Bluetooth to drain the battery, but you want to avoid repeating these steps, you can turn off and solve it more easily after YOU follow the steps above using this procedure:

    1. display the charms bar by pressing Windows Key + C

    2. click on settings and then click change PC settings

    3. click on devices , then Bluetooth. There's a slider that can be used to disable bluetooth.

Do NOT use the key combination to turn it off during startup! To completely disable the hardware. This method however can be used now to activate the adapter on and outside.

All the credit goes to Chef65 to tell me the method, I broke it just down to simple steps for easier understanding.

    You're welcome everyone.

  • How is the ACER Aspire XC-705 has no LED indicator?

Well, it's all in the subject; How is desktop ACER Aspire XC-705 has no LED indicator? As for a HD and DVD player.

It is the first computer DT I've owned since 1993 that doesn't. I'd be willing to bet that computers laptops/notebooks do. Is the rest of the industry is wrong to put on their desktop computers, PC or... Well, I'm with them anyway.

Of course, it's a novel concept, but it would be a car without a speedometer or a camera without a viewfinder. As it is, I have to rely on my hearing to know if there is activity on the hard drive or not, Ditto the DVD player.

See what I mean jelly bean?

Yes, your PC is not a LED HDD/DVD, but probably the motherboard support it.

If you open the case, you will notice a connector near the heatsync chipset, it has 4 wires connectors has a few empty holes, I think it can be connected to some of the lights but I can find no reference at the present time.

  • On NEW laptop keyboard does not work after that the screen keyboard has been activated and then deactivated.

Look at my friend got a new laptop and went through the whole upward. the on-screen keyboard has been activated which invalidates the real keyboard when the on-screen keyboard has been disabled the real keyboard has NO return. If this is a bug... Fix it. This is not a driver issue, it is not a user error. Stop giving people answers, trying to pretend like it's not not the OS when most people already know that it is.

I'm sorry, but I didn't not new meant only one day.  And when I got my new laptop, one of the first things I did was to create a point of files, even a day later I had a restore to use - point and that was possible here as well.  I'm sorry it wasn't the case.

If the system restore option is not available, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, you can try to go into the BIOS during the startup (the key appropriate to push appear on the screen to enter the boot menu or boot installation - try them both in turn if both appear. It is possible that the BIOS contains an option to disable the keyboard (which may have been activated by the keyboard on the screen but not changed when disable you the on-screen keyboard) and you may need to re-enable manually.  There is a slight possibility, but it is an option to try.

Another option to try is to set up a new user account that has never used the keyboard on the screen and see if the regular keyboard works when you connect to this account.  If so, you can simply treat the original as a corrupt account account and use the following procedures to complete the transfer.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.

I hope that one of these aid procedures.  I'm sorry if they seem to 'generic', but we do not really know what is the problem - especially since the system is new.  We try and identify the cause and fix the problem at the same time using the procedures available to us.  I suspect there's a registry tweak will correct this problem, but I went through the whole registry, and although I found several referencers keyboard, I could find no which seemed to control or not activate the main laptop keyboard (though it has been in one of the entries that has been encoded in binary that I couldn't read).  It's possible someone who knows more about the registry will respond to this issue with a proposal to amend (or perhaps another solution).

I hope that one of the solutions I proposed works.  Please post back in all cases we will know whether or not to continue searching for an answer.

    Good luck!

Windows Defender is disabled whenever I turn on my computer. setting has been activated automatically, but a message "windows defender is disabled" keep appearing one whenever I click on it. Help, please. Thank you!

If you have Microsoft Security Essentials or AVG installed, you don't have to do a thing. These 2 are supposed to disable Windows Defender, because they have their own "defender". Running two defenders would conflict on the other and redundant.

If you have not installed 2 above. Try this...
Start bittun > in the search box, type services > press ENTER > uac prompt > scroll down and look for Windows Defender...
under the State ; It must be said Started
under Startup type : must say automatic
If this isn't the case, right click on Windows Defender > properties >
under the change of automatic startup type to
under service status to start editing
    Click OK.

  • Vista... It has been activated?

Before windows 7 came out, there was an offer of full OEM Vista + windows upgrade 7.  I upgraded to 7 directly from XP and installed vista a few hours one afternoon.  I don't think I've enabled, but is it possible to check whether it has been activated or not?

You need to install an operating system if the license has been activated.

Here are the terms of the offer to upgrade to Windows 7.
This offer was made to those who bought and had Vista installed.

    "

The Windows 7 upgrade Option is available through participating PC manufacturers on some PC and Microsoft on any purchase of packaged product Windows Vista. The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to the editions of Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate. Update your Windows 7 will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. The Windows 7 upgrade Option program works on June 26, 2009 through January 31, 2010. Some manufacturers may choose to shorten the time of upgrade Option. »
