Acer W500/W501 Auto Rotation on Windows 8.1/10

I recently upgraded the Acer Iconia W501P Windows 7 to Windows 10 and everything seems to work, and some drivers are missing.

The only thing that needs attention has been the feature of automatic Rotation, because the remote control software hangs when launching Windows 10.

I did further investigation on automatic and managed rotation based on write a small tray icon program that will pick up the probe Bosch rotation and change of the resolution based on the detected rotation works.

If someone is interested in the program, then let me know if I need to download it somewhere.

I just did a clean install of Windows on my Thinkpad Yoga 14 10. I tried to install all the drivers that I could. The only thing missing for the laptop, it's that I can't auto-rotation in tablet mode. Auto-rotation setting is missing from the center of the action and enter the display settings is not an option to allow auto-rotation. I also tried enabling the sensor, the sensor monitoring service and Service of sensor data with no luck. What are the conditions to get this working?

    Thank you!

I finally got it to work. After some intense searching, I found the driver that I had to install. It ends up being the Intel integrated sensor Solution. Installation of the package has work as well as the addition of a "sensors" section in device with drivers HID sensor Manager.

It's weird that the driver does not show in the ThinkPad Yoga 14 drivers page.

  • HP revolve 810 G1, Windows 8.1, screen auto-rotation of images does not work

I'm sure I can't be alone in having improved my G1 810 turn Windows 8.1.  However it is therefore more useful tablet as the rotation of the screen does not work.  The auto spin button does nothing and after an HP engineer swapped botht huh card system and the button they said that the only option is to return to Windows 8 (original shipping OS).

Really, this isn't a usable solution when you want the new features of Windows 8.1 update.

Can it really be difficult to get the drivers right and tested?

Someone at - it a Windows 8.1 working solution?

    Hello

decommissioning of the Bios to F.44 and auto-rotation should work again (for me it worked).

I found this working solution myself, HP could not help me anyway.

Be aware, that the Bios F.44 didn't put heat-settings update as F.47, so you'll have a noisy fan

HP couldn't tell me when there will be updates of Bios or drivers updated.

to ensure that automatic rotation is also running Windows 8.1.

    Hope this information helps you...

  • Elite x 2 1012: Disable "auto rotation" on Elite X 2 1012

I have a X 2 1012 elite and I can't conrol the function "auto rotation". There is no hardware button and I do not see a combination of keys.

Yet when I go into the section display settings for Windows 10 "rotation lock" button is grayed out, - I can't select it.

    Any suggestions?

    Shahman,

I was wondering if your keyboard base is attached when you try to access the setting of auto rotation?

It should be greyed out when attached and only reactive once detached.

Sometimes, once separated, you may need to rotate the tablet to portrait. Then the automatic rotation of images button works.

    Have you tried this yet?

  • Yet WT8-A-102 screen auto rotation after update not

Yet WT8-A-102 screen auto rotation after update not
I have re installed the drivers

Now the Tablet does not start-> error - system thread unhandled exception

The system Thread Exception BSOD error unhandled in Windows 8 arises especially due to incompatible or old graphics card drivers.

I assume that you have installed drivers that were not compatible
To solve this problem I recommend you choose the Windows repair procedure

You should start the tablet in the menu boot device
Press on and hold the flight button + and hold also the power button until the device turns on and the boot device selection menu appears.

Now you should be able to choose the option of HARD drive recovery.
Then choose troubleshooting and got advanced options
Here, you should be able to repair the system automatically.

  • Yoga 900 - Auto Rotation not working / present

    Hello

Well, after my new 900 Yoga for a few days, I turned it off for the first time tonight. Subsequently the auto rotation function had disappeared. No more option in the display settings and registry keys for automatic rotation have been set to 0. HID sensors in the Device Manager are installed properly.

I tried to reinstall Windows 10 and it worked, but after restarting once more, he has stopped working again.

I read that there are many people with this problem, maybe someone found a solution?

Solved the problem: I used o & o 12 to keep my life private for me adding all recommended and in part of the changes to the windows 10. Well, that is banned the sensor monitoring to begin service. Restore the changes and start services solved my problem.

    I hope this helps someone!

  • tm2t 1000 auto-rotation

I had business with the help of HP since a month now on automatic rotation of the screen show.  I'm curious to know if it's really a defect or just a bad design.

Problem #1:  When I flip the back cover in Tablet PC mode, I expect the screen to rotate automatically in portrait mode.  Mine does not work.  He remains in landscape.  I have to press the button on the cover to get it to run.

Problem #2: In tablet mode, I prefer "secondary portrait".  In this way, the bezel (which is the heaviest part of the Tablet), is resting in my hand... which actually feel lighter.  By default, the first position is portrait primary school.  So, I went to control panel-> Tablet PC settings and clicked on the link "orientation."  In the options, I disabled the primary and secondary Landscape Portrait.  What I expected now, when I press the button, it alternates between standard landscape and portrait favorite.  Instead, it does not take into account these parameters and turns to all 4 positions.  So now, when I want to make the portrait, I have 3 times press the button to do it where I want.

Problem #3: After I get to secondary portrait, if I plug in the device it in (all in tablet mode), he returned to primary landscape.  Again, I must press the button 3 times to get it to where I want to.  :-(

I've been a user of Tablet for about a decade.  I recently replaced a version of Acer of 7 years.  The old Acer was so much more usable than this one.

I deal with support and they seem to think that it is faulty hardware.  For some reason, the first time I sent it, they replaced the keyboard.  Seems random to me.  He always behaves in this way and they want to send me new.

Can someone tell me if this is how your Tablet?  I'm curious to know if it is defective or general bad design.  My hunch is this one.

    The fixed!

    http://www.touchsmartdevzone.com/forum/thread/2919/for-HP-TouchSmart-TM2-only-fixes-and-updates/

Bravo for the link above.  Here are the steps I took to make my portrait of auto rotation for secondary display:

    1. I uninstalled quick launch button software
    2 restarted
    3. I googled: HP QuickLaunch 6.40.12.2 L and found a direct link to an older version of the software.
    4 installed
    5 changed Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hewlett - Packard HP Quick Launch Buttons\Schemes\Default\8526\Tablet_Docked_Display_Orientation = 2

    where

    0 - primary landscape
    1 - seconday portrait
    2 - seconday landscape
    3. primary portrait

    6 reboot

Now my screen automatically rotates secondary portrait in tablet mode.

WARNING!  As I test it... it seems that my screen rotation button no longer works.

I'm perfectly content with that because I never want my primary landscape screen when it is a laptop and the secondary portrait in the form of tablets.  I can still rotate the screen preferably video editing if I had to.  According to the link, you may be able to keep the functionality of the button by just copying on a particular DLL from the older version of the app.  I can try it eventually.

    Hi @AustinBanks ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion 13-a013cl x 360 convertible and the auto rotation does not properly. I would make sure that all updates have been made on the laptop first. Reboot the laptop.

Here is a link to show you how to set up and disable the screen rotation function. Check first that has not been disabled.

    I hope this helps you.

  • Venue Pro 8 (5855) Auto rotation disappeared after update

There is some automatic updates - between Microsoft and Dell - and now there is no "rotation" button in the Win10 Panel and auto rotation no longer - manual only. I manually installed all the drivers available from the Dell downloads section.

    How to solve?

I couldn't understand what update broke. I think it's a windows update stopped the rotation sensor.  I did a few Registry hacks and got the back button, but it does not recognize the rotation.

Reinstall requires a keyboard and a mouse (not BT)... and an adapter USB Type-C ($5 of your store of the local computer).

I had to disable bitlocker (took a day to decript) first of all, then follow this:

I couldn't find the option to restore to factory, but I could do a complete refresh, then apply the drivers and updates.
