• In Actions and batch destination folder

  I use Photoshop CS on a G4 Mac (PPC) with OS X 10.4.11.

  I need to convert folders of JPEGs with in Adobe RGB sRGB profile. I recorded a 'action', that works very well, except for one thing. Here are the instructions in the help files for Photoshop:

  To create a new action:

  1. Open a file.
  2. In the actions palette, click the new Action button , or choose new Action in the Actions palette menu.
  3. Enter a name for the action.
  4. (Photoshop) Choose a game from the context menu.
  5. Optionally, set one or more of the following options:
     • Assign a keyboard shortcut to the action. You can choose any combination of a function key, the Ctrl key (Windows) or the command key (Mac OS) key and the SHIFT key pressed (for example, Ctrl + Shift + F3), with these exceptions: in Windows, you cannot use the F1 key, nor can you use F4 or F6 with the Ctrl key.
     • (Photoshop) Assign a color to the Display Mode button.
  6. Click Save. The button Save in the actions palette turns red .

  Important: During the recording of the Save command slot, do not change the file name. If you enter a new file name, Photoshop records the name of the file and use this file name every time that you run the action. Before saving, if you navigate to a different folder, you can specify a different location without having to specify a file name.

  7. Choose the commands and perform the operations you want to save.
  8. To stop recording, click the Stop button, choose stop recording in the Actions palette menu, or press the ESC key. To resume recording in the same action, choose start recording in the Actions palette menu.

  Peter is correct, there is nothing like that. This is the actual path. This isn't like Windows, where everything is based on the drive letter for the physical medium that they are on.

  If it's a standalone Photoshop CS6 (ie you have a serial key) there is no need to connect to the desktop creative cloud application.

  If you have downloaded the 'previous Versions' CS6 creative cloud desktop application so you will need to stay connected on the creative cloud desktop application.

  The simplest way to use CS6 on a former site of CS4 on the same computer would be of...

  1. open CS4 and choose Site > Manage Sites

  2. Select the site and choose export

  3. This will create a your site settings .ste file (no site file is stored in this)

  4 close the CS4 and open CS6

  5 CS6 hit Site > Manage Sites > import to bring these parameters from the .ste file

  This will give you the same exact settings (FTP and otherwise) of CS4 in CS6 while using the same files the.

  If you use another computer together, you will need to make a copy of your local site on the new machine folder, and then export/import the .ste as above with an extra step possible Reassociation the local site on the new machine folder, if the structure/location of the file is not the same between machines.

  Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. I have found that on Windows you can kind of get around that by reducing the window of Acrobat using Win + D, but this is hardly a good solution. Acrobat is simply not built for the treatment of large quantities of files, even if it has the functionality of the wizard of the Action...

  If you need to do this, then you should look for a more robust tool.
