Activation of 64-bit Windows 7 32 bit key

Hello

I just installed windows 7 in version 64-bit professional. I understand that I can use my product key for 32-bit windows 7 to activate the 64-bit version.

However, I managed to the failure of the clean install and no information was erased from my hard drive and windows.old folder has been created. And now windows will not accept my product key.

I'll be able to activate windows with my 32 bit key, if I delete the windows.old folder? And how can I do?

Hope you understand what I'm on everything.

Skip, enter the product key and complete the installation, you can reactivate by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Windows Volume License 7: key vs 32-bit 64-bit?

Then I searched everywhere and can NOT find any documentation on this... I had asked someone (from MS) by CAT earlier, but (stupid me) I forgot to save the logs.

My company has a MAK to Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit) key. We can use the same key for 32 - bit or will we need to purchase a separate license for that? We are trying to find alternatives to XP Mode (use VPN - restricted... networks and all that), and we would simply use Windows 7 in a VM. However, Windows Virtual PC does not support 64-bit OS comments, and we are a bit dodgy on security issues for the use of different software to the VM.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

You can use the same key to activate a 32 or 64-bit version as long as it's the same edition.

  • Will reinstall Vista 32 - bit key work for Vista 64 bit?

I have a Dell XPS running pre-installed Vista Home Premium 32-bit, and I want to do a clean reinstall of the operating system.  Unfortunately, I lost my DVD of resettlement.  A friend has Vista Home Premium 64-bit for Dell, and I was wondering if it would work if I reformat the partition to the OS on the hard drive and install 64 - bit instead?  Also, I reinstalled 32 bit before on a previous machine and it didn't ask me the product key after the relocation.  I will ask you to enter the product key if I have installed the 64-bit, and if so, the 32-bit key will work?

    Hello

Yes, you can use a key of Vista 32-bit to a 64-bit Vista reinstall. The only thing to note is that the edition of the operating system should be same (what is Home Premium) in this case.

    Hope this information helps.

I tried registy keyword "ForegroundLockTimeout" under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop and change the value of 200000, but failed.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you want to place the window with the current task on the foreground of the screen. According to the description, you changed "ForegroundLockTimeout" value in the registry settings. But I suggest you to check with the two keys: 'County of Flash of foreground' and 'foreground Lock timeout'.

To check the correct values depending on your condition, I suggest you to consult the following Microsoft TechNet articles and check if these values are useful.

If the values differ from the default values you can double-click the name and change the values. Make sure that you make the decimal selection and then change the values.

Warning important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  • They guided me through a restore and system recovery, but doesn't not eventually give me the activation code for my windows when finished.

I had a problem with my window 7 do not allow me to do live updates. Supprt Tech guided me through the steps necessary when requiring eventually get a difficult access remotely guided. The tech assured me that since I don't have the activation code for my Windows 7 ultimate that it provide me on. That I would be prompted to enter one after recovery and the restoration was complete.

I wonder if I'll be able to get this code now?

Also, I lost all text documents I had written and recorded? We did a flash drive recovery I've used but I am unable to locate my document.

    Thanks for any help.

System Restore does not destroy documents, but a recovery will depend on what has been done.

If the remote technician entered the product key, so he could be there.

  • Windows 7 - > 8 Upgrade Key Activation

    Hi all

First time poster here, something has blocked me. So, I own a HP Pavilion DM4 3170se, originally shipped with Windows 7. When Windows 8 came out, I took advantage of the upgrade price bought Windows 8 and held above my Windows 7, upgrade. Fast forward to today:

My installation of Windows 8 had problems (the infamous question "disk is locked" as well as several things), and I had to reformat and reinstall the system. Due to complications with my hard drive, I had to do a 0-wipe and completely erase the disk. No problem, or so I thought, as I had a Windows 8 Installer on a USB key. Once I had erased the disc, the MBR problems disappeared, and Windows was able to install the disk normally.

Only one problem: technically, my key of Windows 8 is only a key to upgrade. I have no way to upgrade the facility, however. My original Windows 7 has been saved on a disk partition. I burned this recovery on a disk info, but it is not booting from a disk at all, so I have no way to install Windows 7 and then upgrade. Personally, I prefer to stay with a clean install of anyway to minimize problems.

I have a valid Windows 7 OEM license key. I have a valid Windows 8 upgrade of the key. I have even a key upgrade to media center. I bought and paid for all of these legally, but I have no way to turn on my computer. How can I solve this? Is there a way to present the keys I have and look a clean key? I recognize that my purchase was just for an upgrade and not a clean install, but a clean install was the only way to work around this problem.

    What should I do?

    Try the following solution:

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/13375-clean-install-Windows-8-upgrade.html

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, contact technical support.
