Activation of Adobe flash player in chrome

The only flash player appearing in the plugins of chrome is chrome's own pepperflash

He has worked for a long time but just disappeared, download new or updated (Adobe flash player) does not solve anything.

Hi Stef_Schraven,

Google was planning to depreciate the NPAPI plugin for quite some time. According to this post chrome Blog: The Final Countdown for NPAPI NPAPI plugins will be disabled by default in April 2015.  This post contains instructions on disabling default plugin for substitution.  If you have the latest version of Chrome (42) it's probably why you don't see it there. More info here deprecation NPAPI: developer - The chrome project guide and if you do a search on the internet for "chrome npapi" you will get a lot more information on this.

However, when I do it by following the instructions, I started having problems with my default browser, Google Chrome (OS: Windows 7). Chrome crashed repeatedly, and after many tests to troubleshoot it, I decided that the course of action was to uninstall and reinstall Chrome. He worked without crashing for a week. Hi @rnkh,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that whenever you try to open your HP Deskjet F4440, a dialog box appears indicating that I can not open the program, unless I have download Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer and you cannot scan. I'm happy to help you!

It is possible that there could be a software conflict with Adobe. In order to know for sure I would suggest the following:

If this does not resolve the problem, then I would recommend contact the Support from Adobe.

  • Cannot download adobe flash player plug-in in chrome

My PC OS is Windows 8.1, 64-bit and I use Google Chrome Version 39.0.2171.95 Mr.

Looking at the plug-ins, I have the PPAPI installed by he said out-of-process, and I don't have a NPAPI plugin to Adobe Flash Player. So I tried to download the plug-in, and it can even download on my computer, what's the problem? It has been causing a lot of pain when I am browsing on the internet and by train to work. Thank you.

    Hello erz206

Google is on Chrome depracating NPAPI plugins.  You can get more information about their strategy here deprecation NPAPI: developer - The chrome project guide.

The PPAPI plugin has been the plugin by default on Chrome for some time now, even if a NPAPI plugin both PPAPI are installed and activated, default Chrome settings for the PPAPI plugin.

I'm not able to reproduce the behavior you describe using Windows 7 with Chrome 39.0.2171.95 (latest Chrome for Windows).  I installed the plugin NPAPI, version 16 and it still shows enabled on my chrome://plugins list, however, the PPAPI is the plugin used by default, unless I turn it off.  Here is a screenshot of the plugins Flash Player installed on my system:

  • What does the message "settings on this page are not applicable to the Chrome or chrome based browsers (PPAPI)." mean, and that's the reason why I can't play games on Adobe Flash Player?

I'm playing the crazy Kingdom of God on Adobe Flash Player but the "settings on this page are not applicable to the Chrome or chrome based browsers (PPAPI)." message when I go to global settings to try to resolve the problem. This has something to do with my problem for the Kingdom of the mad God does not?

    Hi Jess.C.N,

Chrome uses the PPAPI plugin and the settings are managed using the online settings manager, not the local settings manager.  Click the 'Learn more about Configuration of Flash Player with Chromium-based browsers' to learn how to manage these settings for the plugin PPAPI browsers.  You can also go to Adobe - Flash Player: settings - Global Privacy Settings Panel Manager to manage the settings of PPAPI according to the browsers.

Here are the details from the Plugins page. I have 18.0.0.205 beta installed (by ActiveX, NPAPI, PPAPI) However, these are the versions of 32-bit. Chrome will not give me access to any other plugin for flash player other than what is shown below. As far as I know the latest public version of the Chrome browser is 18.0.0.203?

There the stand-alone installers for 64-bit flash players, because I have not met one of these? Not sure if Chrome doesn't is more pick up these plugins being installed because of this be a later version of the channel dev, or be a 64 bit version now. Thank you in advance for any input.

  • Adobe Flash Player update - pigybacked Dregol and Glassbottle!

15/05/2015 at 0700 Adobe Flash Player has pushed an update to my computer with the familiar window pop up, who advised a 'necessary' update, I clicked on it to start the process and my AVAST Antivirus software immediately went into overdrive...  He quickly blocked 15 programs to run as a Trojan horse named 'Bottle of glass', who had apparently allow a port to open on my computer that I could see that the files were still loading on my computer.   I unplugged my network cable and the download is finished.    I've stopped working on my projects and immediately ran Malwarebytes to eliminate all threats.  He found and managed to destroy the file attacking (Dregol.A) and is the sub folder, closed the ports that have been used to download malicious software.  Altogether, it was three pages of output and 48 cases in total, not counting those who had been completed and put into quarantine by AVAST.

Glass bottle is the Trojan horse that opens a port, starts the download process for Dregol and other malicious software before, it can be stopped.  Dregol then installs a version of compromise of the browser Chrome and makes your browser by default, using the system level authorization when the user clicks on the button "install" on the update of Flash Player. It redirects then searched by default in all browsers installed engines and then make sure that you receive false results of research on the web "Dregol" compromised and starts downloading it is different loads to your computer.  It opens also several ports, including 21 and 22 to establish two communications path within your computer for remote access.

I tried to find a way to report to Adobe, but all my attempts to do so resulted in dead ends or redirects.  My last attempt to 'chat' with a representative was very disappointing, to say the least.  For the Staff of Adobe, please have reported you these attacks a simplified and easy process for us - end users of your products.  To be pushed email, link to forum for chat and return to email is quite frustrating.  I lost a few hours of my time with this issue this week, if Adobe is not interested in providing support or a way to report easily as these attacks please clarify that so we don't waste our time.

For the rest of us-- until Adobe Flash update engine to solve this vulnerability - disable automatic updates and uninstall the adobe Download Manager.  If you've come from Dregol - run Malwarebytes, use the options in full for all THE files and search scan on your computer open ports.  Dregol in itself is not directly dangerous for your user data, but it downloads without your permission can be extremely dangerous!

    Charles Hedricks says:

It was not an indication of impersonation or act of foul play at all.

Unfortunately, malicious actors who create these malicious/false Flash Player sites are very good at copying the brand/logo Adobe and/or Flash Player and sometimes it is very difficult to determine that it is a false notification or site (a common one is Flash Player Pro... There is no such product Adobe).  The other day, on another computer, the router someone has been infected and changed the IP of the DNS.  The only indication to me that it was a malicious site was the URL of the page is redirected to.  A normal user as you would know the difference as the page itself resembled the official page of the Adobe Flash Player Download Center.

We will actively after these malicious actors.  If you come across these fake sites to install/update Flash Player to their message to me please.  I pass on to the appropriate people here at Adobe when users tell me about them or I find research on the web.

    2. download uninstaller for Flash Player and Sockwave

    Flash Player Uninstaller

    Shockwave Player Uninstaller

    3. run the uninstaller for each of them.

Changed for firefox but can't play, says upgrade to the top of adobe flash player - free and easy - have tried this - get 2/3 and then nothing, help please, thank you.

Have you installed the Plugin of Flash for Firefox version?
IE (ActiveX) and Chrome (pepper) each use a different version of the Flash of what is needed for Firefox (and other browsers based on Gecko).

  • Why I can't install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player on Firefox 18.0.0.232?

I tried and tried to get the latest version of Adobe Flash Player on Firefox, but it won't take. Tried through update on the plugin page, tried through the Adobe Web site and still no luck. I listed 18.0.0.232 version on my desktop, but it does not appear on Firefox. Anyone has an idea why not?

You can download the 18.0.0.232 version here.
    https://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

    Desinstaller.209 and then installer.232.

BTW, Firefox needs a different version of Flash that IE uses and different from the one that use Chrome.

I have the version 1.3.3.66 Adobe Flash Player RealNetworks (tm) RealDownloader plugin PepperFlashVideoShim., which is obsolete. I click "update now" and go through the process installation, but after that it says always "obsolete" and "update now".

Also have Adobe Flash Player Shockwave Flash 18.0 r0, which was recently updated.

Should I just delete the RealDownloader?

    Thank you.

Pepper plugins are not used by Firefox.

This API is for Chrome and Opera browsers, and it should not even appear in a list of Firefox Plugins or the Manager of the Addons > Plugins. It is a 'fault' or a Bug in the installer and must be fixed by Real Networks. My advice is to just ignore it.

Now, if you see this message here - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ - can provide you with a screenshot of what you're watching?

    See this support article.
How to make a screenshot of my problem?
It is best to use a type of compressed as PNG or JPG image to save the screenshot and make sure you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the button Browse... below the text message response area to download the screenshot.

If you think that Adobe Flash player is not a suitable plugin, you have a suggestion for an alternative? I've been using Google Chrome, but I told myself that they will not prohibit Adobe as well. I play 'King' of games such as Candy Crush, as well as others, and I will not renounce my games. I tried looking for an alternative a few months ago because Adobe crashes every day, but I went to the wrong site and downloaded a virus instead. Any suggestion that you can give me would be great. Thank you for your time.

    Price of leila

Everything you've read that Mozilla has declared no longer supports the Adobe Flash Player is incorrect. Mozilla supports still Flash but currently has all previous versions on a deadlock due to critical vulnerabilities. https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/

Mozilla puts only versions of Plugins (and Extensions that are malicious software) which are serious security (criticism), as well as reasons of stability. Unfortunately just about every version of Flash player is on red list since December because feats experienced Sailor and in current versions of time.

Current versions of the plugin base of Flash player for Windows and Mac OS x are not listed but Linux version is due to Adobe not having an update still which is unusual. https://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

As you can see Adobe has been busy trying to solve the exploits in their Flash Player at the last moment. https://helpx.Adobe.com/security.html#flashplayer

Regarding the Flash alternatives that may or may not work or partially according to the operating system and the site used are Unity Web Player, GNU Gnash and Lightspark.
