  OK, now I understand: you need a Flash Player to play the local .swf files.

  You can't do that with add-on browser, you will need the standalone Flash Player (projector) for this.  You can download it from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

  Note that downloading is the player, not an installer, so you'll need to make the association of file manually.

  I suggest you place the player downloaded as well as other Flash files

  on 32 - bit systems: C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash

  on 64 - bit systems: C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash

  What does 'try to install the latest version & can't' mean?  Is there a returned error?  If so, please post a screenshot (the specified item was not found.).

  It is not a version number in the file name. You can save the installation program to a different location or empty the downloads folder, and then download the installer again.

  When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.
